My wife and I we're in town for a wedding and decided to try this place out. I wanted to give this place a fair review, but I just have too many complaints about it. The info I found about Elfcor is very misleading or not detailed enough. First of all, I want to say that this place shouldn't be classified as a typical B&B (in my opinion). The room we stayed in felt like more of an "extra room" in the house that they happen to rent out. All of the dressers and closets were filled with stuff. Even the hamper had dirty clothes in it! The room had double glass doors that didn't have a lock or close tightly together. The shower leaked all over the floor and the toilet seat was difficult to open with the metal shelving above it.
Breakfast was just ok. We had "blueberry pancakes". They ended up being pancakes with blueberry jelly or something on them. Huh?
And the house is filled with art for sale. The "art studio" is simply an extra room above the garage with a pseudo art gallery. Fred isn't even a working artist these days.
To be fair, the price of the room was cheap by room rates these days. The backyard was gorgeous and had a nice sitting area. Fred and Ellen are warm and friendly people. I just wish our overall experience had been a more memorable one.
