Elegant Nails & Spa
8 reviews for Elegant Nails & Spa
It's a bit hard to find a decent nail spa in this part of the hood...
I came here a few times before, but never really loved the place.
But I might have to just stick with this place b/c I found Loc.
I had a guy named LOC did my nails and he was really good!
SoOOOO thorough...a total perfectionist! =D
I give Loc 5 stars, but the 2 others who worked on my mom and sis were pretty bad.
The chubby guy who worked on my mom sucked pretty much from the beginning til the end.
The girl my sis had was pretty bad as well...even with polish.
They also use Latex gloves here...but I requested no gloves and got it without question. Love it!
But the others working my family had them on...I had to tell the guy working my mom to not use them.
Why are they even using these????
FYI-Spa pedi $17 + $3 french tip= $20 (pretty good)
I was referred to this place by a girl from CSUF a couple years ago. She had the prettiest nails that I had ever seen. So right after class I drove right over and this is what happened:
I had the manager, whom she had referred me to go to, do my nails. He was charming, funny, and very busy. He was constantly on the phone and yelling out orders to his staff- a given considering he's the manager. I mentioned that I needed my eyebrows and moostachey waxed off- and he called out for one of the girls and she asked whether I wanted a wax or threading. So she threaded while he worked his magic and then topped my magically gorgeous acrylic nails with some kind of glaze that he said would protect them until the next time I came in. The lady fixed my face up so I looked smooth and pretty and I left spending no more than $45.
And every other time that I went I received the same treatment: perfect nails and a smooth virtually hairless face.
I now don't get my nails done because of a problem I have with finances and such... =) But the next time I have a little green in my wallet I will be back and only to this joint.

I usually go to Star Nails in downtown Brea during my lunch hour for a quick pedi. But today - to my surprise and dismay - I went there only to find that the shop is closed. Out of business. Ka-put! Another casualty of this recession!
So I had to think fast to come up with plan B. I was on my lunch hour. Needed a pedi BADLY and I couldn't put it off for another day cuz I had a party at the park to go to tomorrow, in 80+ degree weather. Sandal weather for sure, so my feet had to look fabulous.
I went here cuz I remember seeing it when I would eat sushi at Ichiban (which is really good, btw). And I was pleasantly surprised at the fast and great service at Elegant Nails.
The place was hopping for mid-day, lunch hour Friday. Once I walked in, I was ready to turn around and walk out if I had to wait. But in spite of the large number of customers, there were so many spa chairs and workers that I didn't have to wait.
I got in and out and back to work in an hour! And my toes? Fabulously painted, of course! Will definitely go again.

My friend recommended this place to me and I've been going ever since. They're professional and they make sure you're comfortable. It is a bit more expensive than other places but you get what you pay for.
The only complaint I have is a worker there who did my nails once. He had really dirty and messed up fingers and nails and kept shouting/talking to his other co-workers (who weren't even paying attention to him). I hear he's popular for doing nails but I winced once from pain that he inflicted.
Just don't go to him. All the others are great.

Based on Fate G's review, I decided to give Elegant Nails a shot. As she advised, I asked for the manager...his name's Danny. He was very well dressed and very professional without being too uptight. He prides himself in providing very good customer service, which was really cool...I wouldn't have to worry about somebody arguing with me about an additional service I didn't want, or having to pay for something that didn't turn out well. He also speaks English pretty well, so understanding what he's saying isn't an issue.
In any case, I've been getting pink and white for years now (at different salons)...Danny recommended to get gels because they wouldn't damage my nails as much as acrylics. I told him that I was pretty rough with my hands and that the nails being durable was important to me. He told me to try them and if anything broke or chipped that I could come back in and he'd fix it, without any questions asked.
He did a great job with shaping and filing and was very cautious to not cause me any pain. The gels came out beautifully...natural looking and what's even better is that there's no wait time to have the polish dry (the gel is cured).
I withheld one star just because it's only been 2 days...so we'll see how they hold up =)
This is by far the best nail salon I have been to. It is very clean, big and bright. They recently expanded to include half a dozen or so more spa chairs. The staff is always friendly, and more professional that the usual cheap nail place. The prices are a bit higher than the dirt cheap places, but you get what you pay for. Splurge on the deluxe pedicure, you get a massage, callus remover, paraffin wax, the whole nine yards for $32. For $50 you can get deluxe mani and pedi.
The best part is the cleanliness. They sanitize the tools in an autoclave before each use. Using an autoclave is the only way to clean completely and get rid of viruses, like hepatitis, for example. I live in San Diego, and I always get a pedicure at Elegant Nails when I'm in town to visit my mom.
My friend and I came here for pedicure after lunching at Sweet Divas down the street. The place pretty packed but we both were quickly started on by nail techs. I was kind of annoyed when they start pushing different add-ons and their chairs were not as comfortable as some other places I've been to. Overall, they did a good job on my nails, so I would go back if I were in the area.

i came here because my husband got me a gift certificate for a deluxe pedicure here. the facilities are nice but i couldn't stand the woman doing my nails. she'd keep getting polish on my skin and then wipe it off with her very sharp fingernails. couldn't you please bust out a qtip instead?! i complained and she seemed sorry but i mean, what can you do? in the end, i had scratches all over my toes and of course she went over the polish with alcohol and i couldn't believe how much it stung. i got clipped while she was removing my cuticles a couple of times, too. it was by far the most painful pedicure i've ever had. very irritating when you expect to go in and feel just a little pampered. the place also felt really unprofessional. i was there on monday morning and there were about 3-4 men who seemed part of the family that owns this place and they were just lounging around in the chairs texting and surfing the net. for some reason, that annoyed me. i really wanted to love this place because i can't seem to find a decent pedicure anywhere. i mean seriously, don't they do this everyday? i don't know why they just can't seem to get it right.
