Since we don't eat at Bishop's, and we can only eat Mexican and Thai food so often, my husband and I were trying to find a new place to eat. Thanks to Yelp and my husband having heard of this place once, we decided to try it out.
YUM.
From the outside, it looks like a weird house, and it's on a residential street. Inside, it looks like your grandma's house-- sort of kitschy decorations, but it's done with love. Some people dress up a bit, but most of the men are in blue jeans. The menus say the beef is locally sourced.
I don't remember what my husband had (some sort of steak with the GARLIC FRIES-- eat them), but I had the Torresmos. Oh my god.
Torresmos is some sort of pork that is soaked in 3 different wines and then cooked to tender deliciousness. I had it over a bed of rice, but I could have gone with my instincts and ordered it with garlic fries, and that would have been even more amazing. Served with a few cold ones, this dinner made us sooo happy, from the food to the service. The only thing I would change is the lighting-- it's a bit dark in the dining section nearest the door.
Also, there is a bar/lounge section in the back, not sure if they serve food back there. -

Not bad at all for Delhi...
"Hole in the wall" doesn't do this place justice. It's right next to the Hwy 99 but thankfully you don't hear any of the noise. Food wise, I expect to be more than wow'd when I pay $$$ + for what is simple food. Tried the muscles and pasta, as well as the Ribeye. Both were good but the pasta in the wine sauce was horrible. The dinner salad and soup were both good but nothing you can't find in a can. I was interested to try their seafood and I'll have to give it another try sometime when I'm willing to part with $30-40.
Service was friendly but not that attentive and I found myself thirstily looking at my empty water glass on more than one occasion.
Needs some inspiration food wise and improved management- -

This was a totally over-the-top dining experience. I had to forgo my vegetarianism for this place, but it was worth it. Come hungry. This isn't just for a quick meal. It's for an evening of pure unabashed gluttony.
Highlights:
HUGE menu for such a small place.
Legit Portuguese offerings, just as they make in the old country (I assume...)
Meat products are locally sourced and prepped.
Everything is prepared from scratch, thoughtfully.
Portions are outstanding.
Wine list is extensive with VERY low markup.
The courses just kept coming. Linguiça, soup, bread, the works.
Cozy, hole-in-the-wall, dairy-town atmosphere.
Extremely friendly staff. They stay open as long as there are customers enjoying themselves and they don't rush you out.
The lounge in the back is great for a lower-key experience, or for a glass of port after your meal.
Needs improvement:
Our server was very new and uninformed about much of the wine/beer list. A few simple requests went right over her head.
Special note:
The North Beach Mussels was a combination of flavors I have never had before in my life. Nirvana. I could not stop eating them, and still wanted to drink the broth once I ate everything else. Seriously, if you told me this dish could create world peace, solve climate change, and pull the world out of recession, I would not second-guess you. -

WOW.... WOWWOWOWOWOWOWWOW! Talk about some good slab o' beef. I was exiled to Hilmar for a job and it required a few overnight stays so I was in search of good grub. I had heard of the Elegant Bull from a friend. It turns out the owner used to own a few places in the south bay area and was a regular at Original Joes. That's beside the point.
The decor isn't much, but since when are good steakhouses trendy? It's a small establishment, with just over a dozen tables. The service was friendly in a down-home sort of way. The sheer amount of food was astounding. The meal started with a LARGE serving bowl of the soup of the day, split pea and ham that night, and warm rolls. As soon as you finish that, a fresh salad is brought out. I usually don't get very excited about salad, but this was really good. Just the right amount of garlic ranch dressing and very fresh tasting greens. Then came the meal. I ordered the porterhouse. 34 oz of meaty goodness served medium rare. The filet side was legendarily fork tender and flavorful. The 'other' side was equally good although a little more caveman-like in texture. The best parts was, the whole meal was around $25. You can't beat that!!
It's a little tough to find, and the exterior is fairly nondescript, but it's worth the effort! -

I have always heard rave reviews about this place. Had an ok chicken dinner not a big meat eater. The service was extremely friendly and I felt well taken care of. We had a full course meal soup, salad, bread, dessert the whole deal and everything was good but not great. I would try this place again. Maybe next time I'll order a meat dish.

What a pleasant surprise to find in Delhi a little hole in the wall steak house that uses white linen table clothes and linen napkins. This place came highly recommended by a coworker and the first time we ate here it was wonderful. The food is really good! It is pricey for the area but you do get your monies worth here. This trip..... not so good. The service was slow.... really slow..... and it was our overwhelmed, over worked server who didn't have enough time to properly serve us. People that arrived after us had prompt service by another server were in and out before us. Our server even told us she was busy and then we had to wait 20 minutes for her to take our order I felt rushed and didn't get a chance to ask about the seafood specials. We had to ask for refills twice, she came back once to check on us, and another server had to bring us our main meals. It took a while for our check to come then after it was processed it sat on the counter 11 minutes before she brought it to us. Our total visit was 2 hours and 15 minutes which with a 3 year old.... is way too long. I gave them 2 stars for food quality and a clean bathroom.
