The Elbo Room is legendary. You have to love a place in which you can grab a drink and hit the beach. It's amazingly small, but the view of the ocean and people is great.
Dingy and stinky, the bar at the Ritz-Carlton it isn't, but fun is wherever you choose to make it happen.
You're working on a badly needed tan, you've got sand in places sand shouldn't go, you probably smell like an outboard motor, but who cares! you're just happy to be out of D.C. in January and enjoying a balmy 80 degree day on the beach.
And a place like this is perfect for drinking right off the beach. Laid back, great people watching, good breeze, great view.
This place is an institution! It's gross, smelly, and downright dirty, but it's great for people watching and drinking whilst on the beach. I've drank many a beer here and I plan to drink more every time I visit.
This place is the ultimate dive bar on the beach. It's busy and great for people watching and enjoying the great ocean breeze. The drinks are fine, there's pool, sticky floors, and a good mix of sleezeballs, losers, and the people who make fun of them.
