I have sadly only had a handful of opportunities to eat here. It is a little out of the way for me so I don't get to eat here often.
I have yet to have a bad experience at this joint. The staff is very friendly and make sure your chips, salsa, and drinks never go empty. I've been in here with baby showers and birthday parties before that took up whole sections but we still had very attentive service.
The food is always so good with portions huge so I can never finish the whole plate. Plus prices are reasonable for what you're getting. Don't worry, their menu has plenty of options to satisfy!

Mexican Cuisine is my wife's and my favorite, and El Tapatio is pretty much where we go for a good meal. We feel you get large portions of good food, that are a good value. We have tried many things on the menu, and have not been disappointed yet. I had the "Tres Amigos" tonight, which came on a HUGE plate, and consisted of Chile Verde, Chile Colorado, a Chile Relleno, rice and beans. It was so much food, I brought home the leftovers and will have two more meals from it.
Clean establishments in both locations in Vancouver, with friendly staff and great service. About the only negative thing we could say, is the tables are too close together.
I don't live in Vancouver anymore, but when I come home to visit I have found myself eating here with my family quite often. I am not a big fan of Mexican food but this place does it for me! I've made the mistake of filling up on their wonderful fresh and spicy chips and salsa before my meal, so beware of that to start.
If you are like me, you may not like the plates of food that have the beans, rice, and your main dish molded together in one, and this place does not do that. I usually hesitate to order enchiladas for that reason, but not here! My favorite has to be the chicken fajitas though. Way too much food, amazing seasoning, and delicious vegetables to add to your tortillas.
The prices are affordable and the service is great! If you're ever in the 'Couve, or live there, definitely check it out.

I have spent many a night buying burritos here. I moved back to Washougal so I don't have the opportunity to justify going back out there though.
The place is clean, friendly, and has great service. It has your typical traditional Mexican food menu, chile verde, burritos, enchiladas, etc. I haven't been disappointed with anything I've tried. The food is reasonably priced, and you definitely do not go home hungry.
