5 reviews for El Super Burrito
This is my favorite little mexican restaurant in Cedar Rapids. As some one else said, the tacos are exceptional. Recently the dining room expanded making it a little more comfortable for eating in. And now they serve beer too.
You can order a three taco dinner platter for about six bucks and the choices for tacos are great. I usually order one beef, one chorizo, and one pork. I love the seasoning and the flavors of the tacos and the cilantro adds just the right kick.
Great Food! You will not be disappointed.
Authentic Mexican. The one thing I like about the restaurant is that in addition to their menu, they have a whiteboard with additional items that changes often. I usually order off of this, having no idea what I'm ordering, and am never disappointed.
Ambiance and decor are not strong points but if you're looking for kind of a hold in the wall place with exceptional food, this is the place. If it had better ambiance it would be a solid 5 stars but you know, if they were concentrating on decor maybe the food would suffer and it would definitely lose some of the charm.
This is a decent place but not a four star restaurant. If you like a good burrito and enjoy your typical fast food style mexican, this is the place for you.
They do have an AWESOME bakery that they sell some good treats in, but their menu is average.
Update: 11/28/07 - I just tried the burrito (see pic). Very good. Who would've thought they did super burritos here? My daughter says it's bigger than Panchero's burrito and it may be. In any case, they're certainly more Mexican.
I've been stopping here off & on since they opened. Very authentic Mexican food. My favorite is the tacos. They're made with 2 or 3 soft corn tortillas and can come with chicken, pork, steak, ground beef or chorizo sausage. There's no lettuce, just a few cilantro leaves instead. Good and spicy, especially with the homemade red sauce on it.
Authentic Mexican - you won't be sad if you eat here!
