I love this place. Minnie the owner is the best. It was a little slow last night, so Minnie joined me for dinner. It's nice having someone to talk to instead of sitting in a crummy hotel room all night by myself.
Go check this place out. What are you waiting for?

I love love love El Sombrero. It's Mexican comfort food at it's very best. I come here every year on my birthday and various other times throughout the year.
The service is always prompt and the servers are very kind. The food is perfect every time. My husband and I always end up getting the same meals over and over. We start with the salsa and chips, a small guacamole and the super great margaritas. For the entrees we get a cheese enchilada plate for him and ground beef taco/cheese enchilada plate for me. They come with rice, refried beans and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. we always choose the flour because they are served hot buttered and and they are so soft and chewy. Perfect for dipping on the mole left over on the plate. When I was pregnant I wanted to live off their abondigas soup.
The food is brought out piping hot and consistently delicious. The margaritas are perfect and not too weak or too strong. Generous portions are served. I would highly recommend this homey comfortable restaurant to anyone looking for great food at a good price.
Go here on Christmas Eve to see Santa and get your picture taken while singing carols. Old school Cal-mex(this means pre-fab corn shell tacos)- Carne Asada, menudo on weekends. I worked here years ago. I really like the family. dried chile based taqueria salsa.
