Very good food and amazing customer service! I came here about 3 times with friends. Their specials are always my go to. Haven't been disappointed yet. The key lime cheesecake was probably one of the best I've ever tasted! Had several of their dishes and they never disappoint!

Located in the nice little town of Collingswood right on the main street on Haddon Ave. if you're in town, definitely a great place to stop by and they have lots of places to eat, shop and they also have their own brewery that's great to try.
Parking
So parking on this street is metered street parking. But there's also plenty of parking which is metered towards the patco line. You should see parking signs, but if you get on W Collings Ave and head towards the street where you see the rail line, you should see some metered parking there. Cheap too.. like $.50 per hour AND the meters take credit cards! Might be a little frustrating when it's peak hours... but the area is definitely worth it to check it out!
Restaurant/Service
Located on a corner, inside is nice and open. A little dark and chilly when I came tho. We were seated right away near the window and was a bit chilly. But otherwise nice decor inside. Service was great.. no complaints. Even when I forgot my to go box of leftovers, I left it at the table and our server found us outside to give me my food! So thank you!
Food
FYI it's BYOB... so bring those bottles of wine because they will definitely go well with the food options here!
You get some bread with this mushroom chimichurri dip/sauce to put on your bread. It was yummy!
We came initially because we were craving some empanadas and happy to see they had 3 different kinds. We ended up getting the White Corn Empanadas (corn dough filled with beef and rice) and the Argentinean Style Empanadas with chicken (you get to choose chicken or beef filling). You get 2 empanadas with each order. The white corn one was AMAZING! The Argentinean ones were good too.. dough was light and filling tasted good. I just preferred the corn one over that one. They had a 3rd option for a plantain empanada that i will definitely try for next time!
For our main entrees, I ordered the Aji de Gallina which was shredded chicken with a nutty type sauce on top of potatoes. It was delicious! They put a few olives and hard boiled egg to decorate the plate but thought it wasn't necessary. My husband went with the Traditional Peruvian Lomé Saltado, which was very flavorful.. a little on the sweet side. My husbands only complaint was the pepper and onion ratio to beef. He wishes he had more meat than the veggies. It also came with a side of fries and rice.
We didn't get dessert because we were full.. but we also came towards the end of the night so they were closing up. Our overall experience was great and we will definitely be back to taste more of their menu!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 11, 2017
Went here today for lunch while visiting the town of Collingswood. We originally wanted to do the Pop Cafe but the wait was too long, so we decided try this place instead.
It was very quiet. There were hardly any other patrons... one other couple and one couple who seemed to be in a first date (the man was talking very loud LOL).
They brought bread to the table with a mushroom chimichirro sauce... it was outstanding. My husband doesn't even like mushrooms and he was fawning over how good it was.
I had the Javier Sandwich, and asked for avocado to put on it... it was delicious, I enjoyed it so much. It was light and full of flavor. My husband had one of the "lunch boxes" - soup, salad, small sandwich and it was also very good. Even the pink lemonade we both had was great. The food in this place was really excellent.
However, the service really wasn't great. The waitress was friendly, but not as attentive as she should have been for a place so empty. The waiter who also helped out decided to be a bit of a pest about clearing the table when we told him I wasn't finished yet... twice. The owner/manager sat in the corner on her laptop, and other than our initial seating/greeting, never said a word. We joked that we almost had to tackle one of them just to get the check, and that it would be dinner time before we were done. There's really no excuse for that kind of service when you're establishment isn't busy.
All in all, we'd come in again (if we were local) because the annoyance of slow service was overcome by their fantastic food. I wouldn't say it should turn you off to trying the place - the food really was worth the wait.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 333382Oct 28, 2019
Decent enough food and a very nice server and interior decoration.
Server was very knowledgeable and described the specials for the day nicely. Very attentive and made nice conversation. Very well decorated space from the cloth on the ceilings to the artwork. BYO which is always nice. Good variety on the menu from ceviche to arepas to steak. I had the lomo saltado. Very meager helping of fries on the side and given how expensive the dish was it would have been nice if they weren't just regular fries from a diner. The meat itself was quite salty, but the flavor of the sauce was good. Rice was fine. Also had a plantain empanada to start and it was just cheese which was unfortunate. Honestly, the highlight of the meal was the sautéed mushrooms in oregano and oil that came out for the table with some freshly baked bread.
Prices are steep, with many of the meat dishes being 25+. That plus the OK but not stellar food mean I probably won't be back for round 2.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex T.Centraal Station, Antwerpen, Belgium44169May 5, 2018

Heard great things about this spot.My good friend made reservations for this evening. First it was packed house, we didn't get seated for 10-15 min.
Then once sat down & ordered our entres, it was now 1 hour + 45 min in.. Our waitress was empathetic, but Really long wait
It is now after 9 pm. Finally food came out,we both got specials.
The fish was overcooked and dry
Our highlights were side dishes.we did tell the waitress & let management know. .They did comp one enter& offered complementary dessert, then it was whole meal taken care of- we let the dishes go back with overcooked fish.I commend them trying to resolve the matter,& took care of the check
Return factor: Probably not, 1st try- too many places to try.But what we ate was good- great flavors.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 6135476Jul 1, 2020
This place was BEYOND phenomenal. The food is incredible. We came here with five people and all five dishes were incredible - we also got two appetizers that were out of this world. I never leave five star reviews and this place earned it.

Our opening act appetizer were the empanadas. Most empanadas I've had were always much more doughy and crispy. El Sitio served a lighter version and I really liked their variation. The plate also accompanied with a sauce drizzled underneath. Pretty good combo. The complimentary bread was enough for a bite that it's generally meant to be. I really liked their step away from the same old oil and seasoning seen in standard dining. Instead, a slight switch up was a mushroom oil dipping.
I regret living so close to El Sitio (BYOB) and never visiting for a meal. Surprisingly, when I ordered the Aji de Gallina it was better than initially expected. There was shredded chicken along with a spicy nutty/cheesy curry styled sauce on top of potatoes. Oddly, the top garnish was a hard boiled egg and a few olives. It was certainly an acquired taste but one I really find myself craving later. The menu does have salads, burgers and seafood as well.
My date had the chicken arepa. Traditional corn cakes served with a mixture of shredded chicken, fried beans, and lettuce in a slightly spicy sauce. Prices can be from 10 to 30 for entrees. Overall we spent $40.
Inside, the restaurant is open and decorated nice for a date or casual get together. They do have outdoor seating as well. Service was polite and always aware of when we needed anything.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0May 28, 2011Previous reviewDuring the Collingswood May Fair I tried El Sitio's tented food stand: a crab cake ($5) and Argentinian Empanadas ($2 ea)--1 chicken and 1 beef. Served with a quality bun, the crab cake had the average ingredients and enough crab meat to score a 3 star. I wasn't swooning over the crab cake--- I have had better but it was nonetheless appetizing. The empanadas earn the same rating. The chicken filling left me feeling like something was missing and the beef was a little better.
After looking at El Sitio's full menu I would go in for an appetizer or some of the cheaper entrees. I didn't think the food I ate was worthy of a full on meal. - Brittany C.Evesham Township, NJ44146141Oct 30, 2017
My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try Peruvian food so we figured Collingswood Restaurant Week was the perfect time to do so!
We came on a Friday night around 6:30 and the place was fairly empty, which I was surprised about it. We were seated right away, our wine was opened, and we were brought waters.
We each got different things off of the restaurant week menu and then decided to add in the white corn empanadas. We both really enjoyed all aspects of the meal. The chimichurri mushroom sauce that is given with the bread is super addicting (we actually had seconds), the empanadas had a ton of flavor, my calamari was fried perfectly, the sauce that came with it was super citrusy but I like citrus so I didn't mind. As an entree I had the filet with fettuccine in a spicy cream sauce-I realized that I wasn't asked how I wanted my filet. It came out medium rare to medium which was perfect for me. My boyfriend had the pumpkin ravioli as his entree and ate every last bite. We were way too full for dessert, but I can bet that it's good too.
The service was quick when it came to filling up our waters and clearing the table, however the food was a bit on the slow side coming out. I didn't mind at all since we were enjoying our whole experience and I really felt like all of the food was freshly made, but it is something to take into account if you're planning your visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
