Had El Rincon on the way to SXSW on Friday last week.  I loved it.

We got there right as breakfast was shutting down but they had no problem serving it to us.  I ordered the chorizo and eggs and it came with homemade tortillas.  The salsa was AWESOME.  Just like I like it, fresh, almost pico'y.

I will definitely want to go back there next time I'm in P-ville.  I am interested in trying some of their breakfast taco's which I hear are also good!

Oh and because I love to check out the ladies room.... this one had a gorgous one!  I was VERY surprised by it!  It has a huge wood counter with all kinds of lotions.  Very nice for this size and type of restaurant.  I like a restaurant that keeps a nice restroom....

Great neighborhood TexMex with good cheese enchaladas.

Can't beat it for consistency and price.

Breakfast highlight is their Migas.

The food is pretty good. Breakfast tacos on Saturday morning are the best in p'ville. Monday nights 2 for 1 fajitas and kids night have become a summer tradition.

I love El Rincon. I've been eating there for many years. It's the greasy spoon kind of Mexican that you either love or hate.

The queso is unremarkable but I've certainly had worse. The salsa is nice and garlic-y, just the way I like it. It's a little spicy, but not so much that my 2 year old can't eat it. (She likes medium spicy things - she IS my kid)

The puffy tacos are a big hit with most anyone I know that's tried them.

They also have live music quite often on weekends and they have a great brunch on weekends too. The brunch gets pretty busy, but it's worth all the hustle and bustle.

All in all, it's not the best Tex-Mex you'll ever eat, but it is good and the price is right. Two thumbs up!

This place is the hole in the wall Mexican place I've been dreaming about.  Most times when I go, they are pretty busy, but fast.  The wait has never been more than 10 minutes.

I always get the Alambres Shish Kebob.  It is always smoky, hot, and flavorful.  The grilled tomatoes that come with it are awesome!  While the chips are a little less than authentic, the tortillas more than make up for that.  Tortillas can really make or break a Mexican restaurant.  Tortillas here make the meal.  Additionally, the staff has always been pleasant and helpful when I make special request.  If I really feel like splurging, I get one of the pecan pralines at the front counter.

This is a favorite spot for my siblings and myself.  I only wish they were open more hours.  Also, big portions here.  You'll be eating for days.

Tried it again last night and it was still "okay" on the tex-mex scale. At least it wasn't just okay and overpriced like a lot of Mexican restaurants in Pflugerville. The first time we had enchiladas and I was turned off when they brought in food from HEB to the kitchen. The enchiladas were okay, standard tex-mex fare with the runny sauce. Beans and rice are kind of tasteless.

Last night we tried the puffy tacos. I got the combination (1 beef and 1 chicken). I preferred the ground beef but the husband enjoyed the chicken. The chicken was chicken breast chunks which were marinated in something that made them pink. I thought the chicken lacked flavor honestly. I preferred the ground beef spice but it was in a pool of grease which made the taco soggy.

We also tried the queso. It's pretty thick and congealed and it could use some salsa or something. It vaguely tasted like mac and cheese and seemed to be that Velveeta style. It only had like 2 or 3 jalapeños in the entire bowl so that gives you an idea of how flavorless it was. I suppose it's good for people who are anti-spicy food.

All in all, it was okay. Not the worst, but not the best. At least it wasn't overpriced too. It was also very loud from the mariachi band and difficult for conversation.

Ate here twice, two days in a row on Saturday and Sunday, since we were staying at home near by. This place does become extremely busy around late AM around brunch time with families, kids, couples.
There is an outdoor patio that is still enclosed.
Both breakfast meals, are really good! The salsa, I LOVE their salsa since it has some spicy kick and tastes fresh. Fresh, hot tortillas.
Parking can be limited, but fortunately, there is open grounds next door, that you can create your own parking spot!
Will definitely come here again, if I'm back in Austin.

The service was decent. But the food was subpar.

Starters:
Chips and salsa - the salsa was probably the best part of the meal. That's not a good thing.

Drinks:
Mexican Martini - too sweet, no olive juice, and almost no alcohol. It was like drinking candy.

Entrees:
Carne Asada - a thin piece of beef with bland flavoring. Supposed to be served with a side of rice, which the waiter brought about 10 minutes AFTER the entree arrived. The rice was stone cold.

Puffy Taco Plate Especial
The "puffy tacos" were soggy and not very fresh. They had to been sitting under the heat lamp for quite a few minutes. Not surprising since the entire outdoor covered patio area was only being waited on by ONE guy. The plate was also supposed to come with guacamole, which I was told they were all out for the night. However about 20 minutes later, I noticed a table just a few feet away that had ordered the guacamole as an appetizer. Low and behold, they got their order of guac. That's just poor business practice.

It's too bad this place was awful. They're located conveniently but we will not be going back.

I really wanted to like this place, but I was sadly disappointed. The place was very busy, so maybe I'm in the minority, but the food here was awful.

I ordered the Carne Asada plate, which I can never find around here, and was brought back this slab of meat that was 60% fat and bone., the other 40% had no flavor whatsoever.

The beans were cold, your sodas come in cans & they charge for chips if you get more than one basket.

The only reason this place got more than one star is because the tortillas were actually very very good.

I've been going here at least once a week for the last 6-7 years.  I absolutely love the breakfast here (Migas and two beef fajita tacos with guacamole).  However, I did give the restaurant four stars since I've never really been much of  a fan of their lunch and dinner menu.  Breakfast, on the other hand, is fantastic.

My little neighborhood Tex-Mex place is being overrun.  The food is home made and good.  Fresh flour tortillas are high on my list of loves.  But you people keep going there.  Stop it!  They are constantly busy, making it hard for the cooks and wait staff to keep up at times.  But the food... I go back regularly.

This place reminds me of heading down to Corpus Christi where you get plate-sized breakfast tacos for $1.00.  El Rincon isn't quite that cheap, but it's as good.  The atmosphere is very comfortable, it feels much like heading home to me.

I've only been there for breakfast, but it seems they have Mariachi on some nights.  My love of loves is the papas con huevos taco.  I should really try more dishes before I review, but others I've gone with have all been fully satisfied on departure.

This is as close to Mexican as you get in Austin. There are Tex-Mex dishes here, and they suck.

Traditional Mexican food and staples are excellent and are served and prepared Mexican-style.

The prices are respectable and their specials prices are great at lunch time.  Service has always been quick, correct, and friendly.

For the haters, this is Mexican food.
So if you're looking for Tex-Mex (barf), this is not the place.

We went for breakfast at El Rincon, but Service wasn't really good at all I mean I've had better service at places that were busier. There were 4 of us I mean it wasn't as if the party was huge. It took over 10 minutes for someone to even ask us for a drink order- then another 10 or so to get 2 sodas, a tea and a corona.
The Food- It was ok nothing great or something I would skip going to a fast food joint for. The breakfast tacos were small for my standards and were ok I took a bite of my husbands. The Huevos Rancheros was ok over easy eggs weren't even close to being over easy just hard yellow centers with a TON of tomato juice and a few onions here and there- not something I would've gotten knowing it would be tasteless especially when paying 6 bucks for breakfast.- Which i know things around here tend to cost more than from where I used to live but come on at least taste good!  The Salsa that everyone talks about was not that great either it tasted like tomatoes and cilantro no bite to it at all no spice just overly "green"  Anyways I guess I will not be back unless I am wanting to over pay for tomatoes and egg.

El Rincon has the best chorizo in Pflugerville.  It's a favorite stop of ours for breakfast.  The food is inexpensive and the service is good.
