It's good, I'll admit it - but isn't that a symptom of any food that's rotisseried?
Unfortunately, it's still not the best peruvian I've ever had. Though the skin and outer layers of meat were well flavored (if a little over salted), the lower layers were completely flavorless - requiring lots of green sauce. Which brings me to my second complaint is that the green sauce has no other flavor aside from "spicy" and you would barely taste it for lack of salt and other seasoning.
Still, it's worth a go and a great idea and value for a mid week lunch/dinner, if you're in VA. HOWEVER, if you happen to live in MD (and maybe even if you don't), make the trek to sabroso - it will be worth it.
These folks know how to roast a chicken. Also, good sauces and the inherent Peruvian knowledge of which is the best potato to use for any given purpose - in this case French Fries.
El Pollo Rico does one thing [Peruvian style chicken w/ fries and slaw] and they do it very well. This place is an Arlington staple. For around $7, you get 1/2 a char grilled chicken, a pile of fries and some slaw. You also get their delicious sauce. You may have to wait in line, but it moves fast.
good fast food except u have to wait in line. at least when i used to go couple years ago. they moved to another location due to urban sprawl but i bet food is still the same. peruvian. good healthy cooked chicken at a very reasonable price.
