I really like this place, and don't mind paying a little more (than I'd pay at El Pollo Loco) for the food here. It's a more authentic version of El Pollo Loco. It's much more than just chicken, they also have really juicy tri-tip that super flavorful. The food here is great. The salsa is fresh. However my only knock on this place would be the salsa, is not the typical "pico de gallo" I prefer, and it's way too spicy for me. That's just me, so don't let it deter you from coming. It's good!!!

Ordered whole chicken with 1/4 tri-tip. All plates, come with tortillas (corn or flour), beans, and salsa. I really love the salsa. It's not a big glob like the one they serve at El Pollo Loco. It's also spicier with bits of fresh jalapeno. I personally liked the tri-tip as it was tender and juicy. The chicken didn't taste as salty as EPL, but needed just a dash more seasoning. Ordered, 5 mins later, was ready to go. Overall, great tri-tip, decent chicken, wonderful freshly made salsa if you like it with some kick. Whole chicken and 1/4 tri-tip was less than $20. It's a little pricey, but worth it.

This is what El Pollo Loco strives to be but never will. I love this place. I've eaten here about 10 times. Last time, I had the chicken / tri-tip combo which was really well done. Both the chicken and the tri tip were moist and not overcooked. Easily the best chicken I've ever had at a mexican joint. Orders come with beans, salsa & totillas. The wait for food once ordered was about 4 minutes. And they serve beer!

The place is well taken care of, but the music usually seems too loud to let you think, hence only 4 stars, not 5.
