Passed by on a late weeknight to pick up dinner, as I was just too lazy to cook. I have experienced EPL many times in the past. There's just something about the chicken, tortillas and salsa that I crave at times.
I went inside to order since I like to take my time and review all possible choices. There were absolutely NO customers, and wasn't busy. Although the dining room and bathroom were not very tidy, I'm glad I took my order to-go.
I ended up getting an 8pc family meal (mixed) with 2 large sides (mac and cheese and corn on the cob) and tortillas (flour) for about $15 (with coupon). I figured the leftovers could be lunch(es). For dessert, got 2 churros for $1.
The chicken was good, esp if you make little chicken soft tacos with them. The sides I'll do without next time. The M&C is less than mediocre and the corn was too soggy and with very little taste!
Overall, the food deserves a 4, but rounding down for the not so cleanliness on a non-busy weeknight, and the employees seemed as if they just wanted to go home.
I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that I've been to an El Pollo Loco. Today was the first time I've been to this one.
This fast food joint ain't too bad. It wasn't crowded at all. I went at about 12:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was clean and well kept. The employees were nice and quick to get my order out. I rarely go to El Pollo Loco and the last time I was there was probably over a decade ago so I can't really compare this restaurant to the others. I do think the food is good and probably better, if not healthier than KFC's grilled chicken.
There isn't that much parking but it's all good... since it doesn't seem like a high traffic area. They share a building with a 7-11 that also sells gas, so, I'm sure that's a bonus for some people...
Anyways, I would definitely come back to this restaurant...
