My husband use to work very close to this restaurant. He thought he could hide this place from me.

It's pretty good Mexican food. I come here to eat Menudo, only Menudo. I love Menudo. It comes with tortilla's. It also has a good portion of meat. A lot of place skimp, but El Palmar doesn't.

The chips they give you isn't so good. It taste old. The salsa is good though.

We eat here all the time and love it.  The tacos, the burritoes, the enchiladas, everyting is delicious.  I espeically like the guac and the albondigas.

Thank you thank you thank you Curtis....  I almost hate to write a review for fear this place will be taken over.  I feel this is the best Mexican food in Marin.

Its a little hole in the wall...very clean... very nice.... has a special feel like I use to get when I would go to Puerto Valletta.  The food is fantastic.

My ex-husband's mother is Mexican and I haven't had food this good since we have been divorced... it was being back in the family again.  The outdoor seating is nice.  The Market next door carries a lot of interesting items.

Psssssssssttt.... try to keep it on the down-low... we don't want the gringos to take it over.....

You want Mexican food?  Real Mexican food?  Check out El Palmar!  They have AWESOME chilaquiles!!!  If you've never had chilaquiles, do yourself a favor and go get some!  Filling, delicious, and very effective at dulling a terrible hangover.  There is a little market attached to this place that is very decent as well - you can find out of the way ingredients common to the Mexican kitchen, but not usually found in American kitchens/supermarkets.  El Palmar is a humble little joint, maybe not the place you'd take a first date...unless they were super cool and can handle real Mex.

I've driven past El Palmar literally thousands of times, and had never gone in until I saw it on Yelp. Yelp to the rescue once again.

It's a very humble looking place, which is great. I like the window hole into the kitchen for ordering, and the nachos were delicious.

But how many restaurants have you been to that have a water cooler available to customers? I thought that was awesome!

El Palmar is a small Mexican places behind Staples. Go for the "Huaraches de Pastor". It is the best! It is like a sope but longer (shoe shaped actually) topped with bean, marinated goat mean + salsa...MMMM
