El Mezcal Mexican Restaurant

This last trip was the absolute worst! Let's just say I can come up with several reasons this place...

Sucks!!!

Chips still suck.

Salsa sucks now too.

Food was cold and nasty.

Service also sucks. I had two bites of my food and pushed it to the end of the table waiting on a check. This took another 10 minutes to finally get his attention. I know he and at least four other employees can see me sitting there with a full plate looking like I'm about to freak out. I have an issue, I wear my emotions on my face especially when I am really pissed off. It actually gets me in trouble quite a bit.

Finally he comes back and He says " you not like it?, I say, "it sucked!, so no". Him "you want something else?" Me, "No." Him "I'll get the check". The 4-5 minutes after this ticked away like years of my life were going by. It felt like I was strapped in a chair being beaten with no way of escaping.

I will say, when the cashier (maybe someone actually charged with "being in charge") asked how it was and I said, "it sucked", his initial reaction was somewhat offended but after that he wouldn't let me pay. He said "you didn't like it?" Me, "I couldn't even eat it". He was actually nice and really tried.

Let me add, this was the third Mexican restaurant I had tried to eat at that night. It's a long story that probably didn't help this review at all.

I left without leaving a penny for the food or the service. Normally, this would bother me, but not here. I even stiffed the server!

It sucks that bad! I lost my morals. Thanks El Mezcal for destroying my soul!

This place was so good ! Our server was so friendly and answered all of our questions.

Let me just say for the complimentary chips and salsa the salsa is some of the best I've ever had! I love that it has a nice kick to it ! Everything tasted really good I have nothing really to complain about the only reason I couldn't give the last star is because when I got my burrito I asked for a little guacamole to eat with it and they charged me $3.50 for it. Now don't get me wrong I'm not looking for anything for free but I would have rather the server tell me it was going to be $3.50 because I expected like 99cents or something like that. Anyway this place is awesome the margaritas are good not very strong VERY sweet.

I love steak tacos. This is my 2nd favorite place for them. Love basic steak onions and tortilla. Always good with ice cold draft beer. Will keep returning, for good food, friendly fun staff and love the atmosphere.

Very good food. Great service and the food was prepared very fast. I would recommend this restaurant to both individuals or families.

The food was both filling and fulfilling. The staff was very pleasant and extremely humorous. Ensured my drink never got empty and kept the table cleared of used dishes. Will definatley come back.

The guacamole is cut with sour cream.


Prices and Service are fairly average.

I have been trying out the local Mexican places and gave this one a shot today. In short the place is fine. Clean and the food is fine. The staff were a bit standoffish. Just short. They weren't overly busy and yes they checked on us and the food came fast but the person that seated us sort of threw menus on the table as they kept waking away. He waiter was ok but not a smile on his face. It was like they didn't want to be working. Well you sill have to fake it! It was weird and not welcoming. Since the rest of the place was just fine they don't get a four star.

Great place, great friendly staff, very good quality food & margaritas! Great prices and everything my family & I ate was delicious! The queso was amazing! Best Mexican food place I've eaten at in the area by far! Can't wait to go back!
