"Sim Sim Sala Bim!" It's like a ride on a magic carpet. Yay, I'm a fan!

I've never had Moroccan food before.... and thought this place sounded like a good idea for a party! I was the best man at my older brothers wedding, so I had to pick a venue for a bachelor party type event. This was his second marriage, so nothing wild and crazy... (whew! that's good, cause wild and crazy for me usually meant losing track of a few days.... lol)  Luckily, he wanted something more respectable and mature.

I'm glad I did my homework, cause in the end, it all paid off.

http://www.elmansour.com/

El Mansour! Don't let the name fool you. It's not Mexican.. its Moroccan. And way out in the Richmond (San Francisco).

From the outside, El Mansour is pretty much average looking; but from the inside, its a whole different story. Dark and cozy floor to ceiling ethnically printed fabric envelopes you and entices you to enter. Hold onto your passport -- it's as if you've stepped out of the desert and into a Sultans tent. Don't bother clapping for your needs... At El Mansour, its all taken care of.

http://4.bp.blogspot.c...

After an initial "whore's bath" (washing of the hands in a shallow bowl with a fragrant water concoction and towel) we began the feasting. And no, its not just about the tasty cuisine, there's a belly dancing show to go with it! Yes BELLY dancers! BONERZ!

I didn't know how it would all play out since I've never really hung with my brother AND his friends.... But tonight was perfect since this place had something for everyone.

We all sat on cushioned low seats as tray after tray of exotic dishes, like couscous with lamb, chicken kabobs and other finger type foods arrived. Fresh baked moroccan style bread, Harira soup, Kanefa and the ala Menthe only added to the out of this country experience...

http://www.elmansour.c...

But I must say, of all the dishes, my all time favorite was the Bastela du Chef (a pastry filled with chicken, almonds, and spices). I could eat that all night. Bastela du Chef is like having a light filo pastry, aka greek bakalava, only lighter still, stuffed with chicken, spices and almonds, and baked to a crispy light texture! The flavor and texture is very unique and quite exotic. Paired with their wines and dancing girls, El Mansour dining makes for an excellent tasty and entertaining event filled evening.

http://www.elmansour.c...

All in all i think I won the respect of the bachelor party, and quite enjoyed myself as well.

4 Woofs, I'd definitely come back to this place, and I'd recommend the dancing fo sho! Don't pee in the parking lot cause thats just tacky!

Went with friends last night and we were definitely in for a treat!

Although  the menu is just two pages, it is plenty to chose from. May be a more limited choice for a vegetarian... I went for rabbit, my three friends had seafood, chicken kebob, and a chicken and lamb meal respectively. All of it was just fabulous; from the harira (lentil) soup that started us off, the veggies, the bastela, to our main courses. And our meal ended with desserts and mint tea. Fabulous!

Warm and personal service. And added to this was a belly danseuse that was an addition that enchanted the kids - and the bachelor party - next to us.

The food here is above average and it has a myriad of choices.
It is also flavorful, so Definitely worth a visit.

So why am I giving it such average starage? Well, we made reservations for 10 in our group. So in we come, say our name, and get ready to be seated. NOT. they lacked seats so we had to wait a good 15 minutes to be seated. ANNOYING. I thought the point of having seats reserved is so that you can just go in, sit, and eat. Ugh. fail.

As far as belly dancing goes, however, El Mansour has the best i've seen in all the Morrocan/Mediterranean restaurants I've been. I mean, here, they invite you to dance with them, something i find funny and very entertaining. So definitely worth a go to for food and fun. Oh, and the whole tent vibe totally adds to the fun. woohoo. Just dont expect to be seated asap if you have a reservation and you arrive at dinner time.

I came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and although the location is not even close to where I live...it didn't matter because I had a great time...we all did! You come inside and it is inviting and exotic.  It's a great place to come to when you want something different, something out of your comfort zone. The host was friendly and the staff were attentive...the food was great, too! A great variety of choices to choose from especially if you are vegetarian...I had the chicken and vegetables...you may think how simple but the flavors are enticing and make you crave for for...the whole experience of coming here is a a treat...they don't just treat you like a customer but make you feel like you are being invited home. Plus, you get a show...there's a belly dance after her performance...you may join in the fun! What a great place to be especially with great food and company!

The food is really good but the joint is done up like any American's Moroccan wet dream:  pillows on the floor, drapey stuff on the walls and cielings.  A belly dancer that balances a sword on her belly.  Ehhh.  But the food was good: the bastila rocks.  So did the fish tagine.  I'd go back but I am not a big fan of watching the annoying clientele pretend they are in "Arabia" while they eat.

I felt like I was in a sheik's tent enjoying a fun and tasty Moroccan evening.

We had such a fun and interesting evening out at El Mansour for dinner. Four of us dined. When you walk in the door, you have this immediate sense that you have stepped into a sheik's tent, with the tapestry draped across the ceiling, the fabric draped walls, and the low (alllllmost sitting on the floor) cushioned bench seating that lines the area. This all creates an open, yet intimate seating area. Wonderful colors and designs throughout.

The menu took a minute to figure out, as you select your main entree, and, depending on which of the "Specialties" or "Entrees" you select, it will come with different side items. All of us thought our food was good. Nice flavours. Nothing spicey, as is the way with Moroccan food. I had lamb and chicken. Both were perfectly prepared, in my opinion. The only issue I had, which I knew going into this, was having to eat my cous cous with my hands. They provide bread, and lots of it, but you find yourself eating waaaay too much bread in the end, since this is your fork and spoon. If you have a thing about eating with your hands, El Mansour is not for you. They used to serve a nan bread which is lighter and thinner. But, this evening was all a sourdough type of bread. Again, much too filling by the end of the meal.

Of course, what would the evening be in Morocco without belly dancing? Our temptress was lively and fun. She did her best to get at least one person from each group of diners to get up and dance with her. It's all fun, and light hearted. People should just let go and relax.

All in all, a very fun and enjoyable evening at El Mansour. I would take friends there again, as well as out of towners that may not always get the opportunity to experience 'fun' dinners.

I came here for my birthday 2 years ago and had a great time!  I like this place because they have a live belly dancer.  She was great because she kept picking on my guy friend, who was pretty scared of her. haha It was hilarious, you just had to be there, especially when she was balanced the sword on her head.  There was a group of 16 of my friends so we got our own little corner.

You can order a la carte or as a pre-fixe.  I recommend the prefixe menu.  It comes with a lot of food, and you guys can all share a variety of dishes.  Since it was so long ago, I don't remember what we got, but I remmeber the first plate being soooo good, it was some sort of almond puff pastry thingy with stuff inside.  They made the food depending on how many people you are sharing with.  So, not everyone gets their own puff pastry thing, except for the main dish.  What is cool about this place is that they serve mint tea.  Not only is it the best tea you'll ever have, but they also pour it from super high--above the waiters head, and it magically goes into your cup without any spillage!

Overall, everything was really good, entertainment was fun, and it's just a really cool atmosphere!

I had my birthday party here. We had about 13 guests. We were seated immediately in these clean, yet plush cushion area at the corner.  Some of the guys 'backs' ached sitting to long in an ottoman type of cushioned stool.

First dish:
Lentil soup - tasty!
Bread - Loved the bread
Mix/Mash of vegetables (chilled) slightly tart (carrots, cucumbers, eggplants and some spread to eat with the bread)
Bastilla
My main entree
Dessert (fried banana if I remember correctly) and some phyllo dough flake/wonton wrapper thing.

I LOVE THE BASTILLA (it's this fried pancake like dough but slightly crispy with chicken, almonds and some sprinkles of powdered sugar on top). (link: http://en.wikipedia.or...)

Wash your hands because you'll be eating with your hands.  They come around to wash your hands with warm water/rose water.

The menu was a little intricate to understand at first.  It was $30/per entree.  The tab came to $40/per person (you do the math!)

I got the honey/prune chicken. It was pretty moist/soft and it was still pipping hot when it was being served to me.  The food came together at once for everyone.

The belly dancing show started around 9pm and beware of shyness - they will make you go up to dance if you are the birthday girl/boy!

I had fun -- just wished this place was not in "outer richmond" but closer in.  The decor was exquisite and we parked on the street.

This restaurant is right across the street (if not close already) to the Legion of Honor.

I called 2 weeks in advance to make reservations and the follow up phone calls were very good.

The food isn't great nor is the service, but the atmosphere is delicious.  Everytime i'm here, it's always fun due to great company.

If you don't wanna eat w/ your hands, ask for forks.  And if you're disgusted when people eat with there hands, GTFO.

Read the yelp reviews and thought we'd give it a try.  We were craving Moroccan food and picked this restaurant based on reviews.  We were NOT dissapointed!  Food was great!  In fact we ate too much of it!  We ordered the Lamb with almonds, good, but the real star was the Rabbit!  Divine!

The atmosphere is as I expected, a fun Moroccan tent-feel, where you eat with your hands and sit on couches and pillow seats.

Had a blast with the belly dancer too!  So fun!  The staff was wonderful as well.  We will definitely be back and this time with friends!

Last Saturday night a group of us all went here for our monthly "ethnic food" night, where we try food that some or all of us have never eaten before. Last month it was Eritrean (see "Assab" review), and this month, it was Morroccan! We had a really fun time at El Monsour, and the food was delicious. Also, one of my friends is half-Egyptian, and even she agreed that the food was superb (she's made home-made lamb tagine before, so we considered her 'credible'). :)

Fantastic Morroccan food - delicious fish tagine.

Great service - loved the rose water for washing our hands.

Fun ambiance - tent-like, with couch-style seating with cushions, all surrounding circular tables. Community-style setting for parties.

Excellent entertainment - Stasha, the belly-dancer was beautiful, fun, sassy & impressive balancing a sword atop her head, etc.

El Mansour has such a great atmostphere and is really one of those unique restaurants that you have to try. There is belly dancing involved too!! We got the older lady but she was very fit and loved getting the crowd involved. She will pick on the guys in the group if you do end up going with some guys. The whole experience was just wonderful. The chicken, lamb, lentil soup, salad, and the sweet but salty pancake filled with meat thing called bastela du chef.  The bastela du Chef is absolutely delicious! Sounds weird since it's sweet and salty but it's so good that it's the one thing that I remember about eating here. I came here like a few months ago so yea.

The main meat dish was good because the meat wasn't dry. I am actually just speaking for the chicken with onions and olives. I think I should have been more adventurous and tried the one with raisins instead. I just thought this whole experience was different with the nice flavors and all. It's a good thing and I would like to try more restaurants like this one.

I have been to this restaurant many times. I think the food is delicious. I always order something vegetarian but eat the delicious bastilla with chicken & almonds. First you start with a delicious lentil soup and homemade bread, then a veggie platter that tastes amazing, bastilla, then your entree, then fried banana dessert and delicious mint tea. I have to consciously think about the amount that I eat in order not to go crazy and pig out like I secretly want to. Its a cute place to have a date or a group date. I always try to eat and leave before the belly dancer gets there because the music volume increases tenfold and its a little distracting.

Food: Delish, even if a bit messy (you eat with your hands)
Service: Short but prompt
Price: Good prix fix price - although the explanation of the difference between the two didn't make sense ($32.95 vs the $29.95), supposedly was the couscous, but I saw couscous with some of the $29 meals?

Went for my gf's 30th b-day party and it was lively and memorable. From the minute I entered the restaurant's very moroccan door I could tell it was going to be a hit. The belly dancer looked great and was extremely entertaining, especially with our rowdy group! She does a great job engaging all the parties in the restaurant.

Food had its memorable moments, including:
1. The lentil soup: well flavored, a little kick
2. The appetizer: puff pastry filled with chicken. Delish combonation of sweet and savory!
3. The rabbit - tender and perfectly cooked!
4. The mint tea: may be too sweet for some, but lovely for me!
5. The french white wine - can't remember the name, but the sweet one!

Pretty good but could use some improvements:
1. My sea bass stew. The stew was delish, but the sea bass portion was literally only enough for 4-5 bites. And that's my bites, not hubby bites.
2. The salad: good tasting of cucumbers, eggplant, carrots, but they only bring by the bread basket for you take one piece at a time. There's no way one slice of bread was going to cut it, so I had to use my hands to pick up the rest of the salad (which I'm sure was the reason why the salad plate was never cleaned)
3.  Lamb: The slices I tasted were just ok. Still had the gamey flavors.

Overall, a great experience and I would def recommend for any party!

How fun! This place was definitely an experience. I was a Morroccan Food Virgin before this place, so I can't really compare. But, what I did have was good. The 5-Course precursor sounded a little intimidating, but they gave a lot of time between each course, so it was easier to eat.

Walking in, I just knew it was going to be a good night. The place looks like a supped-up tent. And it was crackin'. A lot of people there. Looks like you need a reservation to eat here. I was impressed with how they clean your hands, which was a cool surprise. At the end they garnish your hands with this Rose-Water which smells crazy good. The belly dancer was a nice addition. Dinner and a show for $30, not bad.

I have to take away one star, cause some of the courses was awkward to eat with your hands. I mean you could ask for a fork, but you kind of want to stay authentic.

This place is:
SUPER
DUPER
FUN
!
The food is yummy, not necessarily 5 star quality, but still quite good. The ambiance is awesome (genie in a bottle style). That night the belly dancer wasn't the 50 something year old woman that previous yelp reviewers had mentioned, (not that I would have had a problem with that) but rather a young, exotic, SMOKIN' hot mamita that knew how to shake and shimmy her body like nobody's damn business!
Ooooohhhh weeeeeee!
I might also mention that the prices are quite reasonable. I nearly drown myself in Pinot Grigio yet still left without doing to much damage to the wallet.
I will surely go back!

I've been bringing people here for at least ten years--birthdays, New Year's, big groups, dates, etc.  They recently did a re-model that has made it a bit more kitschy, but I still love El Mansour.  There is the requisite belly dance performance, which can get embarrassing when the dancer brings blushing patrons to the center of the restaurant to "dance" with her.

Truly, the owners are wonderful, and from Marrakesh, I believe.  The food is a multi-course feast starting (and ending) with rose water poured over everyone's hands.  The seating is on floor cushions and the decor is beautiful, with fabric draped everywhere (fans of Edward Said, you'll hate it :-)).

My favorite dish is the bastilla, a traditional chicken appetizer with cinnamon and powdered sugar that you eat with your hands.  All of the main courses I've had are great, from beef kabobs to chicken and even rabbit.  They do have vegetarian dishes, but you'd want to skip the bastilla.  We almost always get Moroccan red wine, which is worth trying.

It's a multi-hour experience and great for almost any occasion.  Parking is on the street; you may have to park several blocks away on weekends. Don't park even an inch into a driveway, as the SF parking people are militant about that, and ending your evening down at the tow-truck place to get your car back is not fun :-).

That said, who is up for a trip to Morocco?

Moroccan version of dinner theatre.  Love it!!  I really have no idea how authentic any of the food or belly dancing is, but it's all great!  The food is all tasty, and you'll definitely be full after you've eaten the lentil soup with bread (make sure you ask for seconds on the bread), the "salad," the phyllo dough thing, your main course, then the delicious dessert with the pastry and banana thing.  Also gotta love the hand washing with the rose water they come around with.  The belly dancers are very skilled, and you're certain to be grabbed to dance with one of them if you are the birthday girl or boy.

Make sure you make reservations, especially for the weekend, or you'll be left out wandering around on Clement Street with not much else to do.  Overall, a great group/celebratory place.

Belly dancing.....ground cushions.........eating with your hands........illusion of a proper tent.......cleansing your hands in rose water........and best of all MINT TEA.  I LOVE El Mansour.  I first came here in middle school when I was 13.  It was for a friends birthday.  After that I was hooked and I eventually celebrated my 21st b-day here with my grandma, bff, aunts, and mother.

Needless to say seeing my 79-year old grandmother tuck a single into the shimmying waistband of a 50 something year old belly dancer was priceless.  Don't get it twisted.....that lady could dance!

As for the food, that is another memorable thing.  There are like 5 courses and you share everything but the main dish family style.  They have, hands down, the best lentil soup I have ever tried and the best mint tea and chicken cilicia.  The lentil soup follows the vegetables and is only eaten with a piece of bread.  The chicken cilicia follows and is a rounded flat pie like pastry made with filo dough and in the middle is a mixture of chicken, raisins, cinnamon, and almond.  To top off this savory sweet dish is powdered sugar and cinnamon.  You break it apart with your hands, but be cautioned, it is hot when it first comes out but its GREAT.

Then your hands are given a shower of rose scented warm water accompanied by a hot towel. The service is amazing.  Then you move on to the main course which will be anything from a fowl to rabbit.  Each entree is accompanied by cous cous and a sauce.

The dessert is fried banana and some other component that i forgot but it is also amazing of course, then finally the grand finale..............mint tea is poured by a server about three feet above the cup.  The tea is one of the main reasons to come here....seriously.  Not to mention the awesome belly dancing show.

So my night was eventful.....I was forced to dance in front of a 'tent" full of strangers with the 50 something belly dancer as the matriarchs of my family stashed ones in her brassier and skirt......very eventful indeed.

I recommend coming here for a special occasion or a nice date, but trust me that coming with a group is more fun!!

You would think that this place would hurt your wallet something fierce but you will end up paying about $35-$40 a person including tip.  That is very reasonable since you could leave an regular place like the Cheesecake Factory and drop way more without half the fun or memorable cuisine.

You will need reservations and I recommend planning it a week or so in advance.. It really depends on the night, but this place is usually booked so give them a call.  I hope you all have as much fun as I did!

One of the reasons why I love San Francisco is because it's so ethnically diverse. My cousin was visiting from Florida and she wanted some Moroccan food a la "Along Came Polly" (which was a really bad movie, btw). Thanks to Yelp, it was easy to find a restaurant that met her expectations. El Mansour came complete with a belly dancer and did not disappoint.

ATMOSPHERE: You feel like ... you're eating in the desert (with camels roaming outside) in a very large tent with draperies and pillows of deep reds and gold. It's exotic and fun! The kind of setting that's perfect for a group that's not just looking for a fantastic dinner, but entertainment as well. The belly dancer was talented and charming and ... ohmygosh ... the rose water was definitely my favorite part of the evening. I want to bathe in it every night, it smells sooo good!

FOOD: Everything was delicious. I loved every bit of my 4-course meal. The lentil soup was heartwarming. The appetizers included the Salade Mohammed V and the Bastela du Chef. The eggplant was my favorite - so good soaked up with the bread. The Bastela tasted like a churro to me - a churro with meat. For my entree, I ordered the chicken with honey and prunes and really wish that I could get that dish somewhere in the South Bay.

Reasonably priced, we were stuffed! I can't wait to come back!

Never been to Morocco before, but I think this is about as authentic as it gets in the states. In case you didn't know, you will be eating with your hands here.

Meals are 5 courses and around $30 per person. I went with a group and we had a few bottles of wine and we were about $60 a pop after tip, but totally worth it!

Before you eat the server brings out a huge container filled with water to wash your hands at the table and again at the end of dinner but with Rose water! Oh, Belly dancers; who doesn't like to have those around?

Needless to say I had a great time, the food was awesome and I felt like I got more than my money's worth.

Best Moroccan food! For a cool $30 you get a 5 star 5 course meal (and of course the company of a belly dancer!) The meal starts off with the server washing your hands in rose scented water. Then you get your lentil soup, which btw is the best, and I don't even usually like lentil soup! Next comes the salad which you will have to eat with bread as your utensils. The chicken cilicia is next, which is my favorite. It's really hot in the beginning so beware. I'm not sure what it is tat makes the cillcia so good but it's sweet and salty at the same time! I usually order the honey lamb but the almond chicken is not bad either! The best part is of course the mint dessert tea and the banana fritters.

The ambiance of this place is incredible. Walking in, you will never guess what is behind those doors. I highly recommend coming to this place with friends, out of towners or even family. The couches are comfortable and the food is amazing. I will definitely be back whenever I have a chance to!

Went here for my birthday last year, and loved it!

We had to wait a bit, but there's music playing and the decor was beautiful.  You feel almost like you're in a tent as opposed to a building.

The food was really good, the dancer pretty good, and end presentation of tea was fun.

I will definately go back!

I've never been to Morocco -- but this place makes me think I'd like it and that I'd gain 20 pounds on my trip.

The food is great.  Order from the "Specialty" side of the menu, and you'll begin a 5 course journey into food bliss.  The lentil soup, cold veggie salad platter, and homemade bread hunks (to be used as your utensil) will fill you up if you don't watch out... but it's hard to stop; the bread is soft, oh so fresh, and addicting.  Your entree will follow (I suggest the honey lamb), and then perhaps the best part of all: BANANA FRITTERS!  I generally avoid this friendly fruit but anything fried tastes like something else entirely, and these are divine.

And don't forget the belly-dancing!  Entertainment whilst you dine, but be warned!  Don't make eye contact with the dancer or you'll be pulled up as part of the show (I learned my lesson the hard way... and it wasn't pretty).

I'm a picky eater and I don't like trying new things. More importantly I refuse to eat anything without knowing what it is first.

Well, El Monsour has changed me. First things first, I hate eggplant and I will not eat it but their pickled plate of cucumbers, tomatoes, raisins and eggplant mush is delicious. It tastes even better with the house bread. Next we had the lentil soup which unsuprisingly I hate beans and lentil but I drank the whole thing.

The most delicious part of the meal is their crispy chicken pastry. Yum- sooo good. Its sweet and salty and just right. I could eat the whole thing by myself.

The combination of good food and their amazing hand poured high mint tea, belly dancers, and comfy couch seating areas, and handwashing at the tables was such an amazing feat. I love it.

Love this place. The size of the restaurant gives an intimate feel and I love the feeling of being transplanted to a different place! The food is rich in flavor - the lamb and prawns are delish! On holidays they do a prefixed menu; which is nice and well priced for what you get.

The entertainment is fun and the belly dancer had even got the BF to do a little hip shaking! I can't wait to come back.

This place is kind of fun to visit.  The seating arrangement is a little bit wacky so it's actually kind of hard to talk to one another if you're with a big group.  For a group of four or five, it's ok.  The food is fine, not especially remarkable though.  It's interesting that they have a belly dancer perform, however.  The staff is really nice too.

Other yelpers that gave 5 stars have already mentioned the good stuff thats made here. Love the lamb with honey and almonds the most. I also like that the tee-off bar is about 40 feet away.

I bet you a million dollars the owner has every color imaginable "Polo" and "Izod/Lacoste" collared shirt available to mankind.

The service was good, belly dancing was good, eating with your hand  was fun, nice ambience.  Had the chicken with honey and prune and it was good, especially if you are a fan of honey.  The fish tajine can be messy and nothing really special about the flavor.  It's a different dining experience and is worth coming at least once just to try it out.

This place is a blast.  Maybe not the best food, but the experience is awesome.  I came here with my girlfriend and parents.  We all ordered different dishes and picked off of each others plates.  The rabbit was the best.  The belly dancing was fun, all in all a great dinner with great entertainment.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place.  First of all, it's right next door to one of my fave Japanese restaurants, Oaji.  Yeah, the outer Richmond sucks but it's worth the trek if you're going with a big group.  One thing that surprised me was that there was no waiting area, you just walk right in and there's your seat.  I guess they don't expect alot of people to go there.

The best part of this place is definitely the food.  Granted you have to eat with your hands (not really, we asked for forks like a bunch of annoying Americans), but it's really good food.  They start you out by washing your hands.  Then we got this lentil soup that was so flavorful and cooked to the right tenderness.  I had 2 bowls.  Then we got this filo-pastry filled with chicken and nuts and topped with powdered sugar.  I know...it sounds weird, but actually quite good.  For our entree we were presented with a plate full of various meats and seafood and vegetables and cous cous.  The lamb was probably the best thing, kinda sweet and very tender.  The dessert was fried banana and this other doughy thing I can't really remember (too much wine at that point).  The finishing touch was mint tea.  Yum.

My only reservations about this place were: 1 - I don't like eating with my hands.  2 - The seating was kinda uncomfortable, it's like eating a whole meal served at your coffee table.  3 - The bread they brought us wasn't flat bread like we expected, but still good.

I went to this place with Blake H (see his review), my husband and a group of friends when we visited San Fran.  Amazing!  I have never had anything like it.  Great for groups.  You get food and entertainment all for a very reasonable price.

FYI- they are vegetarian friendly and all the food is so flavorful.

Let me start by saying I have never seen my parents so excited to shove money into a woman's bra. Way to ring in fifteen years of marriage, Mom!
I went here with my parents and relatives to celebrate their anniversary. Our server was very laid-back and personable. We asked him for his recommendations for dinner and drinks, and all of his suggestions worked out perfectly. Our entree consisted of small portions of several items so I won't bother listing them, but everything was scrumptious. The belly dancer was...fun. If I could I would give 3.5 stars, since the bread they gave us seemed a little stale, and they didn't give us the standard-issue flat bread which is easier to eat with. Picking up couscous with just our fingers was trying, to say the least.
Overall, it was a lot of fun. I'll go back someday, if only to hear that server's seductive accent again.

Are you ok with eating with  your fingers?  If not, this isn't the place for you.

Try to get here a little early because you'll have to drive around for parking.  I

This is fun place if you have a group of people.  The food was good, but I was suppose to get sea bass and they used another fish... tricky dicky...

The belly dancer started around 7:45pm and they only do one show, about 20 minutes long.  So if you get there about 8:30pm... you missed her.

The mint tea was ok.  I've had better.

Minus two star for switching out the fish!!
Minus one star because over all... it was meh

Moroccan food, mmm yum.

We went here for one of our friend's birthdays, it's definitely a cool experience and you can't tell that it's a restaurant from the outside because it's so unnoticable. Inside is a different story, the atmosphere is really cozy and they even had a belly dancer!  Some of my friends *ahem* birthday boy *ahem* was too chicken shit to dance with the belly dancer though. All good.

I really loved their appetizer and the honey almond lamb shanks, sooooo goooood! *drools*  Service was pretty good and they even gave us forks because some of us were uncomfortable using our hands =X. That mint tea they served us in the end was pretty damn good (considering my obsession with mint)!

Ohh they even had rabbit!! I never had rabbit before lol, it was good though.

Overall experience was pretty good, but unless I make more money and have more money to spend, I won't be coming back here for a while because it's pretty expensive. You get a great dinner and a show for your experience lol.

I went here a couple years ago for a friend's birthday, and we had a pretty good time. It is usually pretty hard to find parking in this area (c'mon, its clement!), so you should probably give yourself enough time to find a good parking spot if you've got reservations.

When I walked up to the place, I didn't know what to think because I could hear the clacking of finger cymbals,  & ululating and the big blue door was closed so I didn't want to disturb whatever was going on behind it. haha...  Of course, there was a belly dancer behind that  big blue door. Yepp, dinner AND a show!

We had a party of over 13 people and they accomodated us comfortably.
Everyone ordered different entrees, but with the entree, you get 4 other courses and warm bread. The best part of the meal had to be the banana fritters and the pouring of the best tea I had in my life. No, I take that back, the best part of the meal was when they poured rose water on our hands and my friend got scared because he thought it was gonna be piping hot.

If you want to try something new for a date or special occasions, this place is perfect. You get a good meal, good entertainment, and a memorable experience, especially if you get chosen to dance with the belly dancer.

The ambiance was cool, definitely a place to go with a lover or a group of people. The belly dancer was super into our group, which I always get uncomfortable with. I hate being the center of attention so that part I could have gone without. Ha! Now on to the more important things! The service was great. The food was good. I had it once for a friend's birthday. I can't say I would ever go back or crave the food again. I ordered a lamb dish that was kinda bland. But the sides and the other dishes I tried were pretty good. Like I said... good but nothing to brag about.
