4 reviews for El Mago De Las Fritas
I used to go to El Mago wtih my parents when I was little. I hadn't been there in years but I just recently went and its exactly as I remember it. He makes the BEST FRITAS in Miami, hands down. Just the right amount of seasoning, and perfect grill time.
Make sure you get the frita with everything (onions, ketchup & matchstick potato thingies) + cheese if you must but I prefer it without.
They also have Watermelon juice for $1......delcious and refreshing.
Small place. A little difficult to park since its just off of busy 8 street. But definitely worth the hassle.
not bad. in fact, frita made like i'd expect. however, still think fritas from el rey de las fritas taste better.
"El Mago" is a magician with the fritas. I've been going there for years. Unfortunately, when he gets tired, his sweaty and gross waitresses cook the fritas for you. It grosses me out so I end up leaving. Now, when I go there, I think about this greasy waitress who made me want to vomit. He shouldn't let waitresses handle money and then cook fritas. It is unhealthy and unsettling to the guests. If you want an equally as good frita where they follow some cleanliness common sense, go to El Rey De Las Fritas on Calle Ocho closer to downtown. Very good fritas and I'm going to give them another try, but that waitress turned me off. Oh, AMAZING cafe con leche here by the way. The place is very quaint and special and as many Spanish "sayings" around the walls. Very good place just go when it's busy so you know El Mago will be cooking Las Fritas and not La Greasiera.
BEST fritas in town , excellent food and service
