i came with a big group of people for a birthday and the service was really good. The cooks in the back kept looking at our table and around the restaurant and seemed a bit creepy at times. the food was good at a reasonable price

The food is pretty good, but the service leaves much to be desired. It's a really cute place and I've been here numerous times, but I don't think we've ever really had a really good server.
These guys will take their sweet time taking your order and delivering the food. Then, they'll never check on you, never refill your drinks, and they'll try to get you out as soon as they possibly can. The last time I was here, I was all set to order a dessert when our (rude) waitress flew by our table and just dropped the check off without saying anything. It wasn't even that crowded!
It's unfortunate, this place could be great if it wasn't for the service. -

We decided to try out this place and were very happy. The food was great and they had a full bar....and as many of you know, dinning with kids, a full bar is always a nice suppliment, to calm the nerves.
I had Shrimp in garlic sauce (can't remember the name on the menu), it was very very good. The margarita was strong, no skimping on the alcohol here.
They also had a kids menu with a lot of options on it. The kids were happy.
They had a nice list of deserts, but we never made it that far, we were very full after dinner.
I will be back to try something new! -

Service was extremely slow. Tables seated after us were waited on before us. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, it was delivered and still not right. I complained about all the flies in the restaurant, and the waitress nonchalantly said that a door was left open. I was going to take my son's order to go, but turned my head and saw there were 3 flies sitting on his plate of food. If you are going to eat here, just be prepared for a long wait and take your fly swatter.

Went here for dinner the other night and although they were extremely busy it doesn't excuse the poor and slow service we received. If I'm expected to wait 45 minutes for my food I damn sure shouldn't be expected to watch the cook stuff his face in the kitchen while bs'ing with the rest of the staff. Food was OK when it finally arrived, but the service and the sight of the chef eating his dinner before I got mine was a major turn off... FAIL...

Yummy! Nice place - great food! It took a really long time to get our food, but we were still pretty happy since it was so good when it arrived.

I stopped in here for a bite of lunch yesterday. It was a tough pick in between the coffee shop and this (well technically there was also the grill around the corner or the Eporson house), so I went with El Jardin. I have never seen a Mexican restaurant with so many gringos working the joint, it was quite a sight to see. The service was excellent, the host sat us immediately and asked for a drink order. The server was excellent as well. I liked the soft fried chips in addition to the crispy chips served as the free appetizer. Wanted to order a Cadillac, but I went with the water as myself and the girl were feeling sick from the night before still. I had La Compuesta (their version of a taco salad) and it was fine. Nothing wild or adventurous here, but simple solid fare. Four stars for the service and speed, one off for the price (it was pretty expensive for Mexican food).

I love this place and always eat here when I visit Twain Harte for business. After a long day out in the field, the food here is a lovely end to the day. They serve the traditional Americanized Mexican food, but it's tasty and served in plenitude. The staff is polite, the place is neat and has lots of seating, and the service is fast.
