Tres Pinos, CA
This place floors me...really, it does.
It's a bit off the beaten path (well, at least for me), but I will gladly trek up there from Tres Pinos at the blink of an eye to get me some of their tasty morsels.
If you're on a diet...forget it. This place tastes like a diner's dream...and a dieter's nightmare.
It's not at all pricey, and the amount of food you get for your dollar is on the mark. I try to not give 5's, because it's easy to put those up for everything you like.
This place is a definite 5 (I wish I could vote 10). -

Authentic tacos and burritos at a ridiculously low price. I got the super, chicken burrito, chicken taco and an horchata to wash them down. The taco, in particular, was beautiful and delicious. Would definitely return if in Hollister again!

My trip to Pinnacles National Monument took me right past this place. It looks like it used to be a dry cleaner, now converted to a taqueria window where you can get food to go or eat at the counter around the outside of the building. There's nothing vegetarian listed on the menu, so I asked for bean tacos, which were great. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. The carrot pickle and the salsa in particular were good. My dining companion thought his cabeza burrito was top notch.
Not a criticism but you should know if you are a strict vegetarian, this might not be the place for you - I opted for a don't ask don't tell approach to whether the beans are cooked in lard, but the full flavor left me with suspicions. -

Love this place and wish they had a location in gilroy. Food is really good. Craving their tacos as I'm writing this review lol.
Only complaint I have about this location is that they didn't accept credit/debit cards on a visit even they had credit card machines at the register and couldn't explain to me why they wouldn't accept my card. Not sure if this is still the case. -

God help me, I love this place!
Do you like Taco Bell? OK, don't go here if you do... This it the real deal! Cooks and waiters all must have learned to cook from their mothers who were all experts in authentic tacos, burritos, etc.
So order a super burrito and a large horchata, ask for extra pickled carrots, and enjoy! Caution, your wife or doctor will tell you that there is way too much fat (Ignore them). -

As mexican food goes, you can't get much more authentic than this. With so many americanized and watered down versions of this kind of food it's nice to find this diamond in the rough.
I have been eating here for about 10 years. It used to be a baha burger way back in the day and recently got remodeled/new liqour license (YAH!).
The tacos here are 1.25 each and worth every penny. Any part of the cow you want can get cooked up and thrown in the mix but I generally stick with the carnitas, pollo, asada or lengua. Everything about the food is authentic down to the cheese/salsa and if you want to know what a taco tastes like down south the Gru is the place to go.
The burritos, tortas, taquitos and quesadillas are also good although the food can be a bit on the salty side. -

This is the place that made me like tripas. Yes, intestines. I have tried them before at other restaurants and disliked them. I ordered a tripas taco the other day and holy crap it was delicious. It's 1 am right now and all I can think about are tripas tacos. If you think you don't like tripe, or you never thought you'd eat intestines come here, pay 1.60 for a tripas taco and I guarantee you will go back for more.

This is by far my favorite Mexican food place in Hollister. It's far from a sit down restaurant, but it is a great place to stop and get a burrito or some tacos. This place is pretty cheap too. I would suggest this place over Super T anyday.
Also, to add to some older reviews, they except credit cards. Maybe their equipment was not functional when you went. Who knows..
GREAT FOOD! -

Pretty good little Mexican restaurant in Hollister. Came here on a huge craving for carne asada and ordered a carne asada torta. It was good, but the meat is all chopped up, which is ideal for burritos and tacos, but not so awesome for sandwiches. The meat kept falling out of my sandwich, so I ended up eating half of it with a fork at the end. The asada was tasty and not fatty. My Tamarindo was good as well.

i absolutly love this place. i go here many many times and i never get tired of it. the taco's are the best, sure the price have gone up a bit, but its still worth it. i usually just stick with the asada tacos, but once in a while i'll get a burrito or a sope. you cant get food like this anywhere else, well besides their other resturant locations in gilroy. which i will firmly believe that grullense resturants in hollister (they just opened a new take-out one on San Benito St.) taste so much better in hollister than gilroys. plus the staff is more friendly in hollister and always gives me extra pickled carrots (they are superb) without asking. :)
they can be a lil greasy sometimes, but that gives them the awesome taste right? -

I am reminded of the amazing taquitos I had from the local street vendor in my parent's hometown in Michoacan when I bite into one of these tasty taquitos. Not only are the taquitos amazing, the restaurant is well kept, clean, and recently remodeled.
My recommendation: 3 Tacos Al Pastor con Todo, followed by a small Horchata (a rice drink) to cool the palette. -

Came in for dinner with two friends on a Saturday night. 1 carntitas sope, 1 pastor sope, 2 carne asada tostadas, 1 chorizo and eggs plate with rice and beans and homemade corn tortillas...2 bottled waters and a Modelo for me (of course) $17.70. Also, a condiment bar of marinated carrots, red onions, jalapenos...all topped off with a 42 inch plasma and a soccer game on, a major plus! Nothing fancy as far as decor, but I felt like I was back in Mexico for a short while. Craving it as I type this...

i will say this is probably the only place i will drive an hour to and hour back to fremont just so i can have a holiister super burrito. this is the best burrite i have ever had. i introduced my friends and family to burritos from this place and now everytime i go here i have to bring back at least 5-10 extra burritos for everybody , they even give me extra money because theyre so happy to have one. if you eat here you have to have the regular carne asada burrito WITH SOUR CREME. to die for.i could give this place 6 stars.
