2 reviews for El Campestre
As a Los Angelino, I have high standards for Mexican food. When it's available 24-7, you get to be an expert at what will and what will not pass for authentic... So let me honestly inform you that El Campestre is a highly adequate substitute for Mexican food while a boarder hugger is traveling in the mid-west. Prices are excellent as well, allowing you to have a beer and a meal for 10 bucks.
The margaritas there are also not bad but something must be said for the variety of sizes they come in. There is a normal size that is quite delicious, and then there is a grande size that you could dunk your whole head into. So if you're in Ohio and you wanna get trashed, head on over to El Campestre for more tequila than a horse could handle.
Good ol' El Camp!!!
I had been waiting to visit this place long before I had ever set foot in Ohio, or the entire Eastern part of our country for that matter.
Coming from California one would say that I had already tasted the best of the best in Mexican cuisine, but El Campestre really stands up to many of the places I have visited at home on the west coast.
Good sit-down place, with great dishes on the menu, large portions, great music, great atmosphere, friendly service, and all the margarita you could ever want!!!
I had the Camarones a la Diabla. A plate that looked like the fiery burning pit of hell.... a red which was only equally matched by its utter spiciness!!!! People, beware of this plate if you can't handle spicy food!
they have an awesome discount card that you can earn points for every time you visit. I enjoyed a free meal!
