Man is RWC rife full of dives. It would be fitting that now that I have a donkey in my main pic I'd find a place called "El Burro Crazy". After my co-worker and I were denied 3 other places we were going to try, we drove right by this joint and had to walk in.

It's on a weird random corner on the outskirts of downtown RWC, part of a really rundown strip mall that's mostly Mexican except for a Japanese restaurant that sticks out like a sore thumb. When you walk in it's like you're entering someones living room and the kitchen is literally the kitchen from someones house. Although the paint scheme is rather festive and the large pane windows let in a lot of sunlight so it was almost as good as having outside dining.

There are two guys that run the joint and their t-shirts and menu have awesome renditions of said Burro. The burro has a spatula and a knife in the pic and as I was noticing the chef cook our food, I noticed the same knife and spatula.Must be signature to his technique.

As I've said many times I've had my share of Mexican food and I was once again surprised by how many thing were on the menu that I'd never seen before. RWC has been producing so much regionally dynamic food it's crazy. My co-worker played it safe and got chicken mole enchiladas. I was seeing stuff like Alambres, Sincronizadas, Huaraches (stuffed cactus?) and Pambazos. I didn't know where to start. So I went with my usual set of tacos so see how it was and decide to come back if it was good. Even with the tacos, there were meats I didn't see anywhere else so I went with 5 tacos of (described here via the menu):

Bisteck - steak
Chuleta - pork chops
Costilla - rib
Lengua - beef tongue
Suadero - ??? (said by the cook as a a cut of beef)

Co-worker said the enchiladas were good and since I didn't have a lot to compare to, the tacos were also really good. What I could compare, were the lengua and steak. The lengua was on par with most places but the steak was excellent. In fact it was outstanding and it might even rival my favorite over at Taqueria Latina over in Sunnyvale. I could sit and eat a plate of that stuff. In fact the next time I'm there it would be hard not to get five steak tacos except for the fact that I'd like to try so many other things. The tacos were $2/per so that's a bit more expensive than the usual $1-$1.50 tacos I'm used to but the selection distinction here is worth trying. Some of the other selections for your tacos:

Chorizo
Pollo
Pollo Adobado
Pollo Chipotle
Hongos
Pastor
Pollo Mole
Nopales

So no doubt a wide variety of food for such a small place. The guys were both pretty friendly and they have a booming sound system with a sub woofer, alongside two tv's pumping Latin MTV.  They also seem to serve breakfast and some other specials that I'll have to Google to figure out what they are. Definitely a unique little joint worth checking out if you're on that side of town. Don't be afraid of the El Burro Crazy!

This place used shrimp cooked fresh and to succulence for their sincronizadas (quesedilla like dish). the salsa has a nice kick. The horchata is a bit thick and heavy on the cinnamon. The carne asade taco was average.

The place is clean. Prices are not bad for the amount of food you get. I would not seek this place out for food but as a source for convenient food, it is fine.
