4 reviews for El Burrito Loco
Since they changed managers, the new manager is GREAT. He is VERY social, and cordial. He is starting to recognize me when I come in, and seems to go out of his way to make sure I am happy.
The restuarant is CLEAN and you can almost eat off the floor, his standards are wonderful. The food is great tasting, as well as traditional. They have great hot as hell chicharron!!
The store wasn't always this way, and he is definitely fighting a winning battle, shaping it up. As we were talking today, he showed my his health inspection report. HE GOT A 99% which is FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
There's no way to make someone who was in the business feel more secure that by showing them a 99% on their latest heath inspection. The health inspection, even noted the dramatic and constant improvement.
They are big enough to host many friends, and can seat about 80 people. There's some kind of cheap motel, in the back building, but that does not interfere with your parking, or eating experience.
The waitresses are hispanic, and always pretty good looking as well.
The food is always fresh, and made with decent quality ingredients. The veggies are always fresh and crisp and colorful. The salsa always flavorful and spicy. They serve Pepsi products, which is different, as most Mexican places serve coke. ( I HATE coke) along with licuados(milkshakes) and aguas ( fruit or cream rice flavored), along with a small selection of bakery fresh cakes ( tres leches choclate, cheesecake). They also make fresh juices like orange and carrot juices. THEY SERVE BOOZE!!!!!
I hope this is my best review yet, I almost sound like im trying to pitch my own restuarant, but its RARE to find a diamond in the rough like this joint. I gave him the idea of posting those great inspections on a lighted display. Keep up the great work, and keep making tasty food, and I will be back tie and time again. i happened to eat there on Saturday afternoon as well, so this was the second time in a week.
Our go to place for Mexican take out. Dinners like the chili reyenos and carne asada are better than just the ala carte stuff like the burritos, but the food is overall pretty good. Place is clean. Service staff is friendly, but can be pokey. Our favorite dinners is the chili reyenos along with the chicken soup. Very generous portions with tender chicken on the bone, a lot of veggies and corn on the cob in the soup. Good stuff. The steak nachos are tasty as well.
I've been to this place a couple of times. It's not OMG good but I'd go back. So far every thing I've tried is good, the tacos, enchiladas, chiles reyenos, tortas. I was a little disappointed at their grilled chicken salad, the chicken seemed bland and they only have three types of dressing, none of which is low fat. I'm going to try it again, the blandness could have come from the cold I had that day. The price is reasonable, the food is decent and they have something for every body.
The place is clean and the staff are nice. Our waitress spoke English and Spanish fluently, so no language issues for anyone in the group.
My coworker recommended this place to me and we eat here frequently, mostly for take-out. The place is immaculately clean. (I've also visited the very clean restroom - not to worry, it was not on account of anything I ate there.) The staff is very friendly but they will be more helpful if you speak to them in Spanish. The one time we did eat in the restaurant they put the TV on a channel that our kids would enjoy and offered them free rice water. They also made a great quesadilla for them which kept them happy for at least 10 minutes.
I've had the Carne Asada and the Veggie supreme burrito. They list a bunch of ingredients on the menu that are supposed to be included with the burritos, but it turns out that they will in fact NOT be included unless you point out that you want these ingredients. Otherwise, they default to just the beans, rice and meat. I happen to love Mexican potatoes in a burrito. But when I ate my last burrito it was so spicy that I could barely eat it, so I am wondering if the potatoes have a lot of jalapenos on them. I'll have to figure out what the source of that overly spiciness was. I'll let you know. In any case, it reminds me of a place I used to go to in San Diego called California Burritos (because they also used these great Mexican potatoes), and so we'll keep going there.
Oh, and one of my neighbors is the store manager and he's a really good guy.
