I LOVE THIS EGGETTES SO MUCH.
i live in sf so i have to beg my friend to take me here, but no regrets. their drinks taste so good and are fresh. no artificial flavor that a lot of these tapioca places tend to have.
i usually order the strawberry freeze and it's so good. you can actually find bits of fruits in your drink. i recommend this location to everyone, not too pricey in my opinion and their drinks are very filling. i haven't tried their eggettes yet, so i can't comment on that... but their drinks are to die for. -

This is my favorite Eggettes location.
When I order my favorite drink, I feel this place gives more tapioca and lychee compared to the other Eggettes locations. Plus, their receipt always have a 50 cents off your next purchase for the next few days.
I love to order their eggettes to snack on. My favorite is their coconut flavor! I don't like coconut in general, but coconut eggettes tastes so good for some reason. Their honeydew and their original flavors are decent. They rotate their flavors because the most recent time I went, they didn't have coconut anymore.
The service is decent. I notice the workers are always males.
I don't think I ever came here during a time when this place was crazy packed, so that's good. There's always plenty of empty tables and chairs. -

I grew up with eggettes, ever since I've had them from those food carts back in HK. I pretty much know how they should taste like and have a decent expectation of them. So you're not familiar with eggettes? I tell my friends they're inverted waffles. Close enough. They have original, chocolate, and I think coconut? flavored eggettes here.
Last time I came here with a friend, we ordered original and two milk teas. The original was okay, there's room for improvement. I guess the batter was a bit bland or it should be more eggy. The milk tea was delicious! You can definitely taste the tea, but not so intense where it turns bitter. The milk and tea ratio was just right! I swear you just can't drink the milk tea alone. My friend and I finished our first batch and we just want more eggettes. So we tried the chocolate flavored, recommended! Rich chocolatey taste, especially when it's fresh from the pan.
The store's quite roomy for how small amount of tables was there. Free wifi. Got some of those dollar phone charm machines and the plush picker thing. Got magazines on the side. Not a bad place to have chats with friends. -

Eggettes' batter is soooo yummy! It has that nice chewy consistency that I like. Of course it doesn't beat NY chinatowns' versions for $1-$1.50 but it'll do for this area.
I had the fresh taro milk tea which I thought was decent. It's on the lighter side and it almost seems like they throw in some taro bits instead of flavoring the milk tea. I wouldn't come out here just for the milk tea but the addition of the eggettes makes it more appealing.
The space is huge and they even have computers for people to use if you spend at least $2.00. I can see this being a popular spot for high schoolers since there is a machine where you can grab toys. High schoolers like challenges. -

OOHHH SNAPP
OH Eggettes, my very first bite and I just glowed! It seemed so simple as the cook prepares them, but once you eat it freshly made, the ordinary plain waffles would be nothing compared to these. Eggettes has that extra UMPHH to them as they have that light, crispy but chewy texture that really makes them stand out!
With a flavored milk tea boba on the side, all together you get a WIN. I love how something so simple and delicious is set in such a small and local store that's not even crowded! Perfect place to just chill with your friends, with an internet cafe twist to it as well. Goshdarnit, if only LA had this... (as far as I'm aware of)
I still have yet to try their chocolate and honeydew flavored eggettes, but you should never come here JUST to buy milk tea!! It's practically a MUST to get the eggettes (especially if you're not from the bay area!) -

Oh eggettes, your egg-shaped waffles are indeed pretty tasty though sometimes inconsistent in texture and sweetness. All is forgiven when I do get a good batch. Snacks here include: curry fish balls, fake sui mai, fake shark fin soup, fried chicken, and rice rolls. Their computer setup is a little outdated; internet on those things are slow and I don't believe I even got onto their wifi. One of my HK friends loves this place and says the eggettes are legit if not better than ones in LA and HK. I can't vouch for that, but they can be like crack, unless you've had them for years like me.
Always the place I go when I'm craving a milk tea or something sweet to munch on, eggettes will do it with price and decent food. That, and it's close to home. :) -
Review from edward k.
Ahh eggettes. I remember when I first had these when I was just a wee little boy visiting China. Fast forward about 20 years and finally something in the peninsula! I've been here a few times and my mom used to always bring em home whenever she was in the area. The eggettes are ok and the drinks are mediocre as well. I had a coconut milk tea and it tasted really weird.
The place is rarely crowded and my friends and I come here a lot to hang out and catch up. Parking is easy at street parking is plentiful and theres a parking lot nearby. -

Nom nom noms!
I looooooooove Eggettes! Its such a simple concept! Waffles with bubbles + drinks with boba = success!
I've been going to Eggettes for years.... especially when I'm picking someone up from SFO. Conveniently located (its less than 5 minutes away without traffic), its the perfect "welcome to the Bay" present for out of towners. They usually have 3 types of eggettes each day (aka egg puffs/Hong Kong waffles/nectar of the gods) - original, chocolate, and some flavor of the day- and each flavor is yummy! They have a variety of drinks as well (and you can usually specify how much sugar you want) and their pearls are super yummy.
They also have pepper crispy chicken and soup and stuff... but I don't mess around. Its eggettes and boba for me! -

Dear Eggettes, I love you!
These are the best Eggettes I've had! They are light, crispy and doughy all at the same time. They really have it down to a science! Be sure you consume them fast, if they cool too much they lose their awesome-ness.
The eggette flavors are fantastic and I love the rotational flavors they have! My favorite so far was melon. Once I asked the owner if he's ever tried a strawberry flavor, he said "yes, but it wasn't very good".
I appreciate when I see the owner there. Means he knows what's really going on in his place of business. The employees are always very attentive, polite and fast.
The food and drinks are all great! Consistent in taste and price. The menu is straightforward and simple. Some milk tea spots have ridiculous-entire-wall menus and I tend to shut down at the sight of it.
While it is CASH ONLY, there is a coupon on every receipt (usually 50 cents off) good for the next day or two! If you show up without cash, swing by 7-11, buy a pack of gum and get some cash back on your purchase.
There are three computers there with free internet access, magazines and a tv playing music videos. There is also a claw game and coin machines with knick knack toys to buy. It's fun for my 9 year old to go and pick up a drink and a Hello Kitty toy out of the coin machine. -

Their eggettes are pretty good. What I really come here for is the honey milk tea. It is SO GOOD! I have yet to find another place that offers it so I have no choice but to come here. My friend is a big fan of their imitation shark fin soup. We tried their pop corn chicken and it was NOT good. The portion was small, and it didn't even taste good. The curry fish balls are alright. I've had better and can make better.
The workers are nice. Although there was one occasion where they gave us our order and completely left something out. But I guess that can happen anywhere.
I recommend the honey milk tea and eggettes, I guess going else where for snacks. -

I never used to come here because I worked at one of their competitors. Then, I got a new job and decided to check this place out. Some of the only downsides is their lack of choices on the menu. It doesn't seem like much. That could also be because of their decoration which I must say is very minimal. It looks empty in there and so plain. It makes me want to get in and get out. I find myself craving their Cherry Freeze (YUUUM) paired with the egg puffs (of course) pretty often. The staff is also friendly.
p.s. cash only -

OMG OMG OMG EGGETTES!! mMMM nomnomnom~
I love their lychee freeze! SO DELICIOUS and tastes just like lychee. Their boba is pretty fresh too. Whenever I'm in this area I must get Eggettes. I just cannot resist them. Their drink is one of the better Asian drinks I've had. I haven't tried any of their milk teas yet. Also try their eggetts, that's what their named after. I like all of them - original, chocolate, and coconut. YUM! Toasty on the outside and soft in the middle.

Oh man...how can I totally forget to write a yelp review on this spot when living in the area?!
There were moment that I yearned for HK snacking, and if you live outside of Chinatown in SF, your options are kinda limited to something that comes off remotely decent and priced accordingly. From finding places in the area where banh mi sandwiches are twice the price of what I paid in LA, I was going to give up how spoiled I was back in LA that I could grab a good boba or asian snacking snacks whenever I wanted to. This joint reminded me of such a spot.
Their boba here is cooked just right: not too mushy and/or hard in the middle. I LOVE LOVE LOVE taro milk...and I was ecstatic when I noticed it on the menu---had mini taro chunks! Being back in LA now definitely makes me appreciate being able to grab a taro milk tea in a blink of an eye!
The eggettes here were tasty and made just right! I loved the light and fluffiness and reminds me of the ones I had in Hong Kong. I'd stick to the original mainly because chocolate ones just look kinda off.
The service here is friendly, and you get a coupon on your current receipt for your next visit. Hey, can't beat that! -

I've never been here or even heard of a place called Eggettes and I instantly thought that they only served egg-like things haha
Cute little store right next to 7-11. Parking in front of it which is on the street or just park at 7-11 if there's no more parking.
Compared to Quickly's, there's really no comparison. Diff vibe and it's more comforting to me than any people-infested/car meet-infested Quickly's and they have an awesome crane machine filled with Domo Kun's ! :)
I always hear about eggette's but never tried it because I kept thinking it was made out of eggs or something like the batter was mixed with pancake batter and eggs x_x they had chocolate, never heard or seen that in any tapioca spot's menu so I wanted to try it. My boyfriend was sad that they didn't have any more shark fin soup (we were there around 9ish), I'm surprise a tapioca place served this because I only see it in Chinese restaurants. Too bad they ran out, I wouldn't mind trying something new. He just ended up ordering their honeydew melon boba.
Took around 5 mins+ to get our order, it wasn't packed at all that night which is really nice. They have a TV too to watch while waiting or eating. I got my chocolate eggette ($3+) and I laughed because THEN I figured out why it was called EGGette, because it's shaped like an egg x) It was very yummy, super crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, I fell in love ! I'm craving for it right now :( I tasted my boyfriends boba and it was alright, I'm not sure what it was but it tasted really powdery. Nonetheless I like this place and I will for sure come back again ! -

Although the drinks may be somewhat inconsistent based on who made the drinks for you and also depending on the time of the day (busy/non-busy) but usually i get the drinks the way I want it. You'll have to be specific and perhaps spend couple more trips there to alter your drinks to the way you like it (ex. less sugar, extra tea, etc)
Another popular item is their Eggettes, or rather, this IS the main attraction for this store. Without giving too much review, i'm just gona tell you that you should just go and try it out yourself.
Other things i like about this place is their fish ball and shark fin soup. Very simple and nice afternoon snack food.
Lastly and honestly, I think it's legitimately the best tea place in the area. -
Review from Ray C.
Always good. Eggettes are crunchy on the outside, dough-ey on the inside. The rotating weekly flavors are usually all good, with honeydew being the most fragrant I think (makes me thing of high school when girls would just layer on the honeydew lotion, or whatever that was).
Lychee jasmine tea is good, and has bits of lychee fruit floating around. Coconut milk tea, almond milk tea are also good. Just try anything. If you happen to like a particular fruit or flavor, chances are you'll like it in a tea drink here. -

I've never had eggettes before coming here. They kind of look like an inverted waffle...or really big bubble wrap, and they're really fun to eat. I really love how the edges are crisp, but the middle is light and fluffy! I've only tried the chocolate flavor, and I liked how it wasn't too overwhelmingly sweet.
Eggette's also has good tea, good boba, good service, good everything! :)
cash only, though! -

This was my favorite boba store to go to while I was in high school, I definitely love the honeydew tapioca drink. The HK Styled, little egg-shaped pancakes are pretty unique as well. Glad to hear Gary has expanded to different neighborhoods (millbrae and in the sunset).

Their boba is made quite well, and it does not disappoint with the multiple flavors I have tried. The drinks have a stronger tea flavor in it, which I very much enjoy.
The snacks I have tried are decent but not anything I am dying to have again. -

Great product - can't really go anywhere else nearby to get some, and since I'm hooked, I'm also a regular. I think I enjoy the little toy vending machines more than I do the tapioca, but it's good enough that I don't have to stop elsewhere to pick some up after I get some egg puffs. Customer service is great most of the time - unless you are unsure about your craving that day.

I've been coming here since the late 90's and it is still my favorite fresh strawberry tapioca drink. They have not raised their prices since then except for the size upgrade which recently went from 50 cents to $1. All of their fresh fruit drinks are awesome. The only reason I docked a star is because their popcorn chicken portion was a little small compared to quickly, tapX, etc.
They used to have a ton of gumball-machine type toy dispensers, a crane game, and a photo booth but it's now gone so the place feels a bit empty. Plenty of parking usually available on the street or in the 7-11 lot. -

Their boba is made perfectly. I don't know ANY other boba spot in SF, or California in general, that makes it better. Seriously, other boba spots need to take a boba lesson from Eggettes! I come here more than once a week.
Like most places, it's cash only, but your receipt is good for $0.50 off your next drink. I use my receipt/coupon every time I go back. :)1 Previous Review: Show all »

I'll be honest, I used to hate this place when it first opened. In middle/high school I was all about the TapEx (don't ask why, I'd rather not delve into those years..) but as I got older I realized how much better Eggettes is.
First, they are always consistent. The milk tea will always taste the same, the boba will always be nice, chewy and fresh. Their service will always be fast, and the only items that you really have to wait a while for them to make are the actual eggettes: the snack form of pancakes that are formed like little eggs which you can rip off bite by bite and pop em in your mouth or throw at the little asian kids playing on the hello kitty keychain vending machines because it's fun. Kidding. Daily eggettes flavors are original (plain, pancakey flavor) & chocolate, and the third option will interchange from sesame, honeydew (the BEST), coconut. All are guaranteed delicious.
While the menu is not as big as Quickly or TapEx, they have a great selection of drinks that aren't pretentious from different milk tea flavors (my faves are just the plain old regular milk tea which tastes very authentic, hong kong style and they just added a "diet"/slim milk tea to make you feel less guilty about the 892 boba balls you will consume while drinking said tea. pointless and decent tasting, I'd order it again if I were on a fake diet; flavored milk teas like almond are much sweeter, though the fruit flavors like strawberry are surprisingly not and the strawberries are actually fresh fruit, not a syrup) to iced green teas (the passion fruit is refreshing) and frozen drinks (they have a great mango, strawberry and mocha flavor but be forewarned that they are all very rich in sugar). -

These guys make the best eggettes. Their drinks are cool too, but I go for the egg waffles. I think this was the first place I was introduced to them and by far they make it the best. I love that they have other quick snacks too, but for a quick sweet fix, this is a nice option.

This is the best tapioca place on the SF Peninsula! The drinks are fresh and don't taste like they're made with powder, and the boba is soft yet chewy! Don't come expecting an extensive menu with tons of choices...they keep it simple here! My only gripe would be their popcorn chicken; it comes in small portions and is just a lot better at other boba places. Stick with getting the eggettes/egg puffs if you want a snack!

I was craving a mango smoothie while in the area, so the boy&I headed to Eggettes. We were greeted by a delicious aroma, but the store itself... well, its kind of bare-bones. A little TOO bare-bones, but I mean, there was enough seating so the boy&I could grab a table. Wi-fi wasn't working, which wasn't cool.
I ordered a large mango smoothie with pearls, but he [I believe the owner?] must not have heard "large," and I ended up getting just a regular-sized one. Sigh. The smoothie itself was alright. Nothing special, but it satisfied my craving. The pearls were a bit on the mushy side, as well. I guess if I really wanted a mango smoothie, I'd come here, but not really sold on Eggettes yet. Although I really want to try their waffle things.. and their milk tea...Listed in: MOOOOO TEA (;

My quick fix for HK style street eats. I've been coming to Eggettes since they opened a few years back.
They've since opened a couple other locations around SF/the peninsula but I always come to this one. The owner usually is at this location and is really friendly. They also have free Internet for all customers.
For their namesake, they have the best Eggettes anywhere. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside; just how it should be. Imitation fin soup and curry fish balls are yummy too. There's a huge boba and blended drinks menu to choose from. The tapioca is perfect. Nice and chewy, never overcooked.Listed in: SouthCityy, addicted to sugar, Chinese Cuisine

There are so many places I have tried in CA because i always wanted to have eggettes that can slightly compare to what HK has offer me. This authentic HK dessert/snack that I have tried in CA that never ever competed with HK ones until I went to "Eggettes." If you ever tried the other places that offered eggettes they are usually like a cake kind of thing which is a big NO NO...It's suppose to be fluffy and light and crunchy. It's suppose to be crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside which makes this such an amazing little snack. "Eggettes" is the only place in town or maybe in this country to ever compete with what HK has offer me. GET ON "EGGETTES" LEVEL or else your eggettes are nowhere near the same level.
Oh I'm pretty sure the reason why it's so good it's because they have the eggettes machine which they probably imported from HK. Though I don't think there are anything else besides eggettes that are so delicious. It is a really nice place to get some snack...oh and i went to two different eggettes location in the same day because I missed it so much. :)
MUST TRY IF YOU WERE A HK NATIVE OR EVER TRIED EGGETTES IN HK. -

This is my first time here. It's nice that they have Korean music vids on the flat screen with the audio on as I enjoy my soy milk.
Me and my sis were not hungry. She ordered the coconut milk tea with boba. I got soy milk. Just plain soy milk. The youngin working the counter repeated my order 2 times to make sure I just wanted soy milk. Eggette serve other stuff but I just not interested. I wish there was a place like this when I grew up. I would have done my homework and stared at girls.
It's just creepy for me to be here right now. And my sis agrees. -

I grew up nearby and used to come here all the time.
I stopped by the other day after an absence that spanned years and years. Ordered a taro milk tea with tapioca and honeydew eggettes. Both were absolutely delicious.
The place hasn't changed much, and that's a very good thing. Super clean, extremely friendly and helpful workers, plenty of seating. -

I personally prefer this location over the one in Millbrae.
I have my go-to drink here: Mango Freeze w/ Tapioca. It's made fresh every time. It's hard to stop after the first sip. It's absolutely DELICIOUS!!
I also enjoy the original eggettes here. Such a simple little snack, but it's so good. Eat it while it's warm..it's so much better that way. They offer differrent flavors, but I stay loyal to the original :)
There's sometimes parking along the front part of the store. If not, there's always the lot in front of the 7-11 that you can park in..so parking usually isn't a problem.
Beware of going after school hours. South City High School is right across the street, so it gets super busy right around this place. It just gets annoying. So I suggest going before the kids are out!
Note: Cash only! -

I have been coming to Eggettes off and on for quite a few years now. I tried my first tapioca pearl drink here before I had ever heard of Quickly or Tapioca Express. I'm not Chinese, but I wanted to try this interesting drink. Ever since then, I've been hooked and I've tried them and other items from several establishments. I always remember Eggettes and I try to go back whenever I can.
I've always enjoyed their fresh eggettes. My favorite is the honey dew! I like a lot of their drinks, but I have to say I like the Taro the most.
During the summer, it is great to come in and enjoy a cool refreshing pearl drink at Eggettes and maybe grab a sweet snack. It's also good to know that Eggettes is a "mom & pop" local business, which I like to support. -

REALLY GOOD EGGETTES. They make it perfectly, crunchy outside and chewy inside. Not soggy or too crunchy, like other places I've tried. This is one of the few locations that has the honeydew flavor, which is my absolute favorite because it's so unique to Eggettes.
Their Almond Milk Tea is yummay.
Key Points
- their boba is chewy and perfect!
- really easy parking
- lots of tables to sit at
- good lighting! -

Been coming here for years. Consistent from the first day until now.
The menu isn't particularly large, but what they offer is done well. They have regular/original eggettes and chocolate, plus a 'special' one. The original and chocolate are always good. The milk tea isn't overpoweringly strong and the freezes are tasty. The boba is also done well...not overcooked and not undercooked.
Ambiance is bright and shiny, with Chinese music on the speakers and some concert on the tv. Internet stations are also available during the wait.
Prices are on-par with other similar places. Service is quick and efficient. Definitely a good stop for a quick snack.
