Totally bizarre that this place has pirogies. So if you're coming from Pittsburgh and can't live without them while you're on vacation, this is the place to go.

The creepy statue outside this place scares me.

ps - the owners are from Poland.

I had the "Three Rogis" that come with three of each pierogi: strawberry, blueberry and vanilla cream cheese with a side of fruit cup. I was expecting a lot more after everyone's reviews but was a little underwhelmed. I've had pierogis in Poland before so I know what they taste like. Actually... the pierogi skin was fine, I just wasn't that crazy about the filling. The vanilla cream cheese ones were okay but the blueberry and strawberry ones tasted like they just thawed frozen fruit and didn't really bother adding flavor to them that much. I think they could've done a little more with the filling. I'm going to try the savory lunch pierogis next time. Maybe they taste better than the breakfast ones. I have no other complaints about the place though.

This is one of Boulder's best-kept breakfast secrets, and for me the fulfillment of a lengthy quest for pierogi in Metro Denver. Being from the Pittsburgh area, we ate pierogi all the time. Out here, good luck. Then I found the Eggcredible Cafe.

What's better, I've only enjoyed the savory variety. I'd never thought of pierogi as a breakfast food. At Eggcredible they serve them up three ways for breakfast: strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla farmer's cheese (by far the best). You can even get a sampler plate with all three, and each order comes with a fruit cup. I also need a little potato with my breakfast, so I get a side of hashbrowns, and they come out perfect every time.

Recently, I was turned on to another breakfast selection here: the applewood smoked salmon scramble. I can't tell you how healthy and delicious this is. They of course have traditional fare as well, like pancakes, omelets and skillets, alongside breakfast burritos and something known as the breakfast pizza. They also have a nice lunch menu, but I've never made it in past 10. (Note: they're only open until 2 p.m.)

The restaurant is set within a Days' Inn, but don't let that throw you. In fact, the hotel is a great place to put up guests. You know where to meet them for breakfast each morning!

The last, and best, part about the Eggcredible Cafe: It's located across the street from a trailhead that's great for biking, running or just walking. So you can earn that breakfast with an afternoon jog, or work off that salmon scramble with an extended bike ride.

So I was scanning Yelp today for breakfast places in Boulder (wow! Yelp is useful!!) and I noticed that this one was still open. A breakfast place I haven't been to in Boulder? Score.

Anyway, I like balance, so I'm going to go and split the difference between Jennifer and Vince.

First thing to notice about this cafe is the weird ass location: it is on located on South Boulder road and is a part of a hotel, but is its own separate restaurant as well.

Upon entering the sort of pseudo-pun Eggcredible (not the Delectable Egg), we got some looks. Weird crowd...three of the 15 tables were occupied, all by one person. Huh...

There was one waiter, who was taking care of everyone who was quite thorough and nice. 1star+

The decor was weird..I guess they were going for an Alaskan wood + salmon + beer theme, which didn't quite work.

But what really matters is the food, and the food here kicked ass. Owned by some Polish people, the specialty here was Pierogi...something I've never heard of before and had some trouble spelling there which consists of a potato dumpling filled with various things, sort of like gnocci but better. I had the vegetarian Eggs Benedict (one of my favorites) and it was stellar.

Alas for the 5th star however since the prices were a bit too high for it to be attained: $8-9 a plate makes this place a little too high to beat Lucile's and Walnut Cafe out of the top Breakfast spots in Boulder.

In case you haven't heard, breakfast is the new dinner.

Well, can you keep a secret? Eggcredible Cafe, tucked away in the Days Inn Hotel in South Boulder is well worth the drive. (And by not waiting for a table, you'll end up eating sooner anyway).

The restaurant itself is an ode to a quaint Polish mountain lodge. From the Polish made curtains and the framed pictures of Poland, to the Polish tour guides and visitor books, you might accidentally escape to Eastern Europe for a morning...
