I absolutely LOVE the Convenient Store.
I even giggle every time since I talk about it... I mean come on, Convenient Store!! hehehehe, the chinglish is adorable!!
I love the variety of Asian items, especially the fish ball bar! They have all these different fish balls, shrimp balls, fish balls with filling, daikon, in a light broth simmering all day =) They also have a fantastic selection of musubis and other to-go items. Of course, I can't forget the Asian magazines, snacks, cosmetics, and drinks, but those you can find at any Asian grocery store in the San Gabriel Valley.
Truly, the highlight here for me are the fish balls. I would highly recommend the fish balls that look like little pyramids as those are the ones with tasty masago fillings =) -

My friend introduced this place to me last year and since then I've come here at least once a month. Now it's more like once a week, ha. I really love this store because it reminds me of those 711 stores in Taiwan. :) Yummy fish cakes with deeelicious soup and the flavorful onigiri on the side...totally awesome. And the best part is that there are about ten different kinds of onigiri ! Yay for more varieties. :) Their snacks aren't exactly the cheapest in the area, but I only go there for the fish cake and onigiri. Love the drinks selection though. LOTS to choose from. :') I usually come here in the mornings with my boyfriend to buy breakfast to eat at school.
On any other day I'd give it five stars, but today I bought an expired soy milk. :/ I guess some of the food aren't very fresh because it's a small shop hidden between the huge IHOP and bank so people don't go there often. -
Review from Daisy K.
Teeny tiny convenience store that caters to the hungry bellies of SGV residents - esp late at night. I believe they're open until 1pm.
The snacks and drinks here aren't as cheap as other places, but they have to pay their bills somehow, right? The onigiri, fish cakes, sandwiches, rice bowls and bento boxes do a great job when you've got one of those cravings but want to skip the restaurant experience.
As with all Asian places, note what the order minimum is before you can use your credit card. -

EE convenience store reminds me of 7/11's in Asia. They have lunch boxes, steamed buns, fish cake, rice balls, cup of noodle, snacks, ice cream and a huge drink selection. The drinks, snacks and cup of noodle cost more than at the Asian grocery stores but EE is so damn convenient that sometimes I just suck it up and pay the extra price to save myself a trip to the other stores.

WARNING: The bento boxes do not get delivered until 5PM. Before then, they only have breakfast items in the hot food section.
The food is not as cheap as the 99 Ranch Supermarket down the street but the selection is second to none. Where else can I get Lucky Stars and papaya milk shake? The tempura and soup is soooo delicous. Especially on a cold winter day. I am soooo happy this place exists. -

Once you step into this convenience store, you are MAGICALLY transported to an Asian 7 Eleven! They have all the Asian candies, cookies, biscuits, fish balls, soup, beverage and sushi you can possibly imagine. NOM NOM NOM. Although, the prices are a bit high, it's definitely worth every penny since you can't find them anywhere else in So Cal!

At first I thought the owners messed up on the store name...Convenient store? Hahaha...It's convenienCE store ok? But apparently they knew what they were doing. The convenient store is so convenient....it's f*cking called the convenient store. Although the snacks and drinks aren't as cheap as going to an Asian supermarket....its all just right in front of me in one convenient spot and the selection is pretty good. They also have food here that is quite good. Onigiri, fish cake/oden stuff, those taiwanese double layer sandwiches, rice bowls, rice plates, and some other stuff I forget. Everything is pre-made but the rice bowls and rice plates are under a heat lamp and the fish cake comes hot. There's a minimum charge for using a credit card...$15 if i'm not mistaken. This place closes at 1AM too! So convenient if I want some late night Asian snacks.
CONVENIENT STORE that's whats up. -
Review from Hans Z.
South Pasadena, CA
This place is great if you need something tasty to go or are feeling too lazy to go to a restaurant. There is different food in the morning and towards lunchtime. The morning has some good Taiwanese breakfast items including a pretty decent Fan Tuan and an average gua bao. Towards lunch you can get cheap boxed lunches with everything from a mediocre beef tendon to a tasty pork belly on rice. Most include a tea egg and some veges.
Other items like drinks and snacks are a little over priced, but that's to be expected from a convenience store. I wish they had fresh coffee in the morning or maybe some hot unsweetened doujiang and a you tiao? The oden is pretty damn good, sandwiches are good and tea eggs average.
If you want real Taiwanese food go to Four Sea, Simbala or one of the other local options, but if you want something quick to go with no wait this is not a bad choice.
I think it's cash only for up to $25. Over $25, credit cards are OK.
Pros:
- Lot's of parking.
- Tasty items.
- Very convenient.
- Not too busy.
Cons:
- Some items are too average.
- Would like fresh coffee in the AM. Please?
- When they first open and at various times of day, there aren't many boxed fresh items ready to go. -

This place has me feeling nostalgic every time I step foot in here.
Only those who were born in Taiwan like me or if you've ever been there, you should know what I'm talking about. From the drinks, snacks, and various goods they carry, to the oden and tea egg bar, to even the SMELL of this store...it screams ASIA. It's the only store I know around here that is entirely dedicated to Asian munchies.
As much as I love that fact, I can't ignore the fact that everything in their store is overpriced. -

Taiwan literally has a 7-11 at EVERY CORNER. I am not going to lie, EE is EXACTLY like walking into a 7-11 in Taiwan. The downside is, you pay a lot more here. I know I can get the same thing for a better price somewhere else.
Another reason why I'm giving this place a 3/5 is.... a lot of their stuff is expired. If I do go, I always make sure and double check all my stuff is good.
Their tea eggs and the fish cakes they offer is really good. They also offer a wide variety of "asian" snacks and bottled drinks. If you're looking for something to snack on, this is definitely the spot. -

If you've ever been/lived in Asia, this place will bring waves of nostalgia. It certainly brings out that inner fob in me who instinctively throws up peace signs at the flash of a camera and obsesses over all things Hello Kitty. I love this place! From their fish cakes, to their random Asian beauty products that promise transformations only surgery could provide... to all the snacks you used to keep in your Pochacco lunch box.. For those who don't share those experiences, it's still a great place for some unique drinks and a yummy midnight snack.
I wish they had one in West LA.

Irvine, CA
No lie - this place has a lot of the Asian drinks and snacks that are so elusive and hard to find. It's also open 24/7, which is very convenient especially for all the Asian high schoolers with their messed up sleep schedules (due to APs and all that fun stuff) and midnight cravings. I like their milk teas (my favorite brand is actually just $.99!), the onigiris, and the fish balls and tea eggs (I love dipping the fish balls in hoisin sauce and filling up the cup with hot soup - perfect for a cold wintry day!). They have a wide variety of packaged snack, like Pocky and shrimp chips. This is basically an Asian 7-11 in California. It's great.
BUT prices aren't cheap. But to me, that's not the worst part. The worst part is...
On multiple occasions, I've spotted more than one cockroach roaming the place. And I just can't deal with that, as a customer as well as a person who works in food service. When I alerted the cashier, he just grunted and went back to moseying around behind the counter. Please, PLEASE put more time, effort, and care at keeping this place clean and sanitary, especially around the foods that aren't covered and packaged. I really want to love this place, but every time I think of EE, I think of cockroaches. So if I ever come back here again, I'd only get their packaged food and drinks. -
Review from June P.
This place reminds me of Taiwan!!! When I last visited Taiwan I would always swing by a 7-11 or Family Mart just because it was Fun and full of cute snacks we don't usual find in California. Now I'm always saying I wish they had stores here like Taiwan and now I found one just like it...
When I first walked into this Convenient Store with my sister -- we both said "Now this smells like Taiwan". haha...
So i browsed the little Asian magazine section and when i looked up they had a nice fridge full of asian drinks... the cute ones you see all full of color and cute designs... I was so excited I had to grab a drink... Next I walked by a section of food in the fridge... like the seaweed wrap with rice like a triangle, and some cold noodles, milk tea etc. Everything looked very tempting... But on to the next section...a warmer with teas, milk tea, water, etc.. anything typical asian drinks that some people want hot is in that warmer. Now right next to the warmer you find some hot steamed buns, there are a few flavors so pick and choose what you like...But the best part is they have a section of Oden (usually offered in convenience stores in Taiwan ---fish balls, tea eggs, etc) Now I don't eat this stuff but it was exciting to see it along with the 4 types of sauce you can use on those items....
Now there is more to this convient store but you just have to check it out... total F.O.B. world, but I love it.
-Opens late, across the street from Ding Tai Fung in the corner next to the Bank. -

On a week night, when everything else in Arcadia is closed (except Dreamlab), I like to go to Life Plaza and here to just look around and kill time.
It's just like any other American convenience store except it's aZn~fied. They carry everything from Asian skin products, condoms, Asian cosmetics (fake eyelashes, eyelid glue, etc.), Asian magazines, kitchen utensils, to Asian candy, snacks and food.
The only thing I buy from here are Meiji Gummy Choco (strawberry - so so so nom), oden (hot tempura snacks) and pig blood sticks in soup (the latter sounds pretty nasty but it's SO good!). I only come here every so often though because it's not very "cheap", especially the Gummy Choco.
This place is good if you're craving Taiwanese snacks in the wee middle of the night and everything else is closed, since it's open 24/7. If you ever drive by in the middle of the night and it looks closed, don't be fooled. They do this for safety & security reasons. Just go up to the door, ring the bell and they'll come out from behind and let you in. -

Did I stumble into a Taiwan Family Mart or 7-11? Nope, just EE Convenience Store. This place is almost exactly like the convenience stores back in Taiwan, minus the greeting "huan ying guan ling" everytime a customer walks into the place. I really miss that!
They have all kinds of bento boxes, onigris, drinks from asia land, and buns here! When I was in high school, it'd be the go-to-place for a quick meal. Beware of the high mark up for foods that you could otherwise find at 99 Ranch.
I would suggest against going late at night. You tend to encounter the asian rice rocket meet up crowd. I'm personally getting a little old to appreciate a fix of rebellious teen driving too fast in a souped up car that they begged their parents to buy, but if that's your jam, then feel free! :) -

Monrovia, CA
PROS
- Open late
- Large selection of asian snacks
- Ample parking
- Free wifi? I guess that makes sense if you're sitting at their 2 benches out front, or just chilling in your car.
- Warm drinks to go.
CONS
- For asian convenience stores, the measuring stick I use is whether they carry the large liter bottles of milk tea. They used to carry them at one point, but the last few times I've come, I've only seen the cans. Bummer. If that's your thing as well, perhaps check My Place Convenience Store off Duarte and Santa Anita.
- Like most convenience stores, you pay for convenience with sheer cost. You'll probably pay 2-3 times what you would at an asian supermarket, so unless you absolutely crave instant ramen or Pocky at midnight... perhaps wait.
- I'm sure a lot of their items just sit on the shelves for unknown periods of time. Check the expiration date. -

Let me tell you how to buy & eat oden because I sure as hell did not know what I was doing.
How to buy & eat oden:
1. Grab big hot cup to the right.
2. Pick up tongs on the right & choose your sticks of choice & put them in the big cup.
3. Return tongs. Pick up ladle & scoop the soup into the big cup. (Yes, the stuff that the sticks are swimming in. Oh and ignore the sign about buying one oden and the soup is free. All sticks qualify. Who would want to just get the soup anyway? Confusing!)
4. Make little to-go containers of sauces for dipping. Choice of hoisin, satay, hot, and hoishan sauce.
5. Pay & enjoy.
There you have it. No need to stand around waiting for others so you can copy them (Yes, I did this). They do have the fish balls with the fish roe in the middle. I love those!
24 7 is like a completely Asian Famima. Lots of yummy drinks and snacks. Unique rice ball flavors. Nice experience but nothing that I need to drive out to Arcadia for. This asian food/snack void can be filled at the local Nijiya or 99 Ranch market. -

I'm going to make this review as succinct as possible, so imagine a 7-11 in Taiwan and you have EE Convenient Store. Stocked to the brim with all types of Asian snacks, candies, even hygiene supplies for women. They also have hot foods ready like tea-eggs, tempura, udon. Everytime I walk in, I at least walk out with three of the seaweed wrapped rice triangles (black pepper beef, teriyaki chicken, and spicy tuna). Whats awesome is that they are also open late, so you can stop by here for your late night munchies if you need a change of taste. They also have every type of Asian drink imaginable, Aloe being my favorite.
Prices are somewhat high, but a small price to pay for the hours of operation, and the vast variety of snack foods available. I'm assuming most of these goods must be imported as well. Lastly, this area is pretty heavily visited by FOBs, so don't be suprised if the clerk doesn't speak English. Parking is available in the plaza. -

YUM! Like an asian 7-11! My favorite... stop spots.... great oden with fish balls yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... and onigiri! (: Spicy tuna yup yup yup.... :D and it's not the bad.. the price is pretty good....
They also close late!! -

If you've have ever been to a Family Mart in Japan, it' just like that. True, you can find almost half of thier products in any asian market (i.e Ranch99) but it's not as fun. They're similar to Famima, but are more geared towards Asian goodies.
What I like, waffle ice cream sandwich, their gazillion different fob drinks (i.e. 5 diff Calpico flavors or every kind of green tea ever made)
Prices are comaprable to 7/11 and Famina.
Located right behind IHOP . -

Don't got time to go to 99 Ranch? Then come here. You can get all kinds of Asian snacks and drinks at any time, day or night. They even have hot precooked meals. They're actually pretty damn good. Place isn't the cleanest but who cares? You're only in there 5 minutes or less. Prices are higher than usual but that's because they're open 24/7. Check it out.

I used to come here when my after school was located pretty close by.
I really liked the variety of onigiri (rice balls) and the Japanese items. Also the broth that came with the fish balls... so great on a cold day.
I miss this place. -

I miss Taiwan's convenience stores, but this place is a decent stand-in.
I always get their onigiri (rice balls), which come in so many flavors, it's hard to choose which one I want. They have a lot of good snacks and candies, but those are also available in 99 Ranch right next door.
I also like how they have hot canned tea and soy milk, which can be hard to find at other asian places. -

Arcadia, CA
If you want to see what convenience store in Taipei or Tokyo looks like, this store is very close. Imagine a US 7-11 filled with Japanese and Chinese snacks, cosmetics, Taiwan magazines, unique Asian drinks, ready to eat sushi, lunch boxes, popular Chinese and Japanese over the counter drugs, Asian ice bars....and even the same radio broadcast and music from Taiwan! I love their tempura snacks (oden) and fish balls in the back aisle.
The daily lunch boxes (beef tendon noodle, pork chop rice, curry rice) are very convenient and tasty. Though it is pricy, the nostalgic atmosphere is what attracts customers to this place. Just about the only things or services this store does not offer as in Taiwan are services on behalf of phone companies, banks or government agencies such as buying credit for phone cards, collection of parking fees, utility bills, traffic violation fines, and credit card payments. In Taipei, they even provide the service of mailing packages, fax and copies! The location is however not very convenient, locating in the corner of a small shopping strip. You could easily miss it. I hope one day every block in the Valley is filled with such type of convenience stores. -
Review from J C.
Temple City, CA
I used to come here all the time when they first opened a couple years ago. Now, not so much. First of all, they are now even more overpriced than before!. Almost 4$ for a canned coffee drink? come on! this stuff is 1$ in taiwan. Some of the people that work at the register have no manners at all, and dont know how to say thank you or youre welcome. Also, sometimes at night there are a bunch of losers standing around in front of the store. Im not sure if they do anymore, because that cockparty seems to have moved to famima on liveoak.
I loved this place so much more when it was operated consistently by the owners. the people they put in charge to run the store are horrible and can care less about their job.
The only reason to come here is that they offer some nice chinese & japanese beverages and snacks that most western-owned places dont carry. Although, you could always goto Mitsuwa on Las Tunas. At least people there arent bitter that they didnt make the cut to be in a chinese boy band -

Pricey but I don't know where else you can find all this stuff in one place...well, maybe at mitsuwa or marukai but they aren't really convienience stores. I really like the lunch boxes they have and breakfast stuff. Great selection on drinks and candy but it's on the pricey side...can of drink=a cup of boba tea....parking is difficult and small spaces and lines are sometimes long.
I always end up spending more time in here than I should at a convinience store---blame my sweet tooth! -
Review from Ken C.
This is a great place for when you must have that hard to find Japanese drink or salty snack or that flavor of Pocky you just can't find anywhere else. They also have hot Japanese street food like boiled eggs and fish balls. The place is clean, smells nice, and is brightly lit.
A huge downside is the prices, almost everything is double what it would normally cost at a Mitsuwa. As a novelty or to get your occasional favorite C.C. Lemon drink this is great, but the prices really keep me from coming with any regularity. -
Review from Andrew F.
Anyone that's ever been to Taiwan will say that the US needs to start copying the Taiwanese format of 7-11 or Circle K. Why? Because they have EVERYTHING there.
Well, since our 7-Elevens aren't that elite, EE 24/7 is probably your next best option. There's an assortment of Asian snacks and drinks (Chinese/Taiwanese, and Japanese) that seem otherwise hard to procure - while there are others that can be bought at the local Mitsuwa or 99 Ranch. The prices here are a bit better than 'My Place Convenient Store' on Baldwin.
THE GOOD: There are freshly cooked meals packaged for a quick pick up, ranging from chicken fillet over rice (Ji Pai Fan), pork chop rice (Pai Gu Fan), and minced meat rice (Rou Zao Fan) to assorted noodles. They also have a decent selection of fishball skewers and Taiwanese tempura goodies, warm and ready to serve.
THE BAD: The prices are still kind of high - I'd rather go without these goodies than spend the extra change.
VERDICT: I'll stop by once in a blue moon to see what interesting items they bring in. I can get most of the stuff I really want at bigger franchised Asian markets, rendering EE 24 7 kind of useless. It's a nice, cute little place, clean and all, just not really for me. -
Review from Johnny L.
Los Angeles, CA
Great place to get your late-night Asian fix as an alternative to a 7-11.
There is a plethora of drinks and chips, especially hard to find ones as well. If pocky is your thing they have a pretty good assortment.
They will sometimes have boxed meals depending on if they sell out earlier in the day but there are better alternatives to lunch.
I come here when I need a quick drink, usually some canned milk tea of some sort.
They have steamed fishballs, pork-blood rice (I know it sounds bad but its an acquired taste), and various other shabu-shabu or poached items that will go on a stick.
The prices are a little higher than normal Asian supermarkets depending on the type of food but where else are you gonna get Asian snack food at midnight? -
Review from Eugi H.
This is a wayyyy cooler version of Famima, Taiwanese 7/11 style. They've got packed meals which are SO GOOD and pretty cheap for the amount of food they pack in those boxes. I love the stewed pork with rice, mince meat noodles, beef tendon...omg, i'm drooling right now. I wish they had this store in the westside, doesn't sgv have enough asian wonderfulnesses? i swear i was begging the lady at the cash register to open up another store in santa monica or somewhere around there, it just isn't fair! sgv has all the good stuff.
This store also has pork blood with rice on a stick, fish balls and other stuff on a stick, gua bao in the morning, boba, japanese candies/snacks as well as taiwanese stuff, tea eggs, ....
The couple of times I've been here (and I've only known this store for what....3 days?!? and i've already been here several times!!!) The lady that helped me was super duper nice! I came in a bit early for their lunch boxes and she went in to the back to pack up 2 for me! Now that's service!! -

NOTE: I am writing this review based off of my visual impression of the place. I did not purchase anything or receive any form of customer service. I am aware that many Yelpers have complained about the prices and lack of service/enthusiasm from the employees, but I can't account for that yet until I buy something. Ok, on to my review:
Well, my brother randomly brought me here today on a pit stop for drinks, and the first reaction I had upon entering the doors was "WOW!"
It was always a private business venture of mine to want to open up 7-11 like convenience stores in Asian dominated areas of Los Angeles that replicated the 7-11 stores of Taiwan.
Who would've thought that this particular place did that EXACT thing. I can't even describe the feeling - it was like I had the wind knocked out of me. Amazing!
I noticed this place sells some drinks not even found in your average Asian supermarket; the stuff is seriously straight from Taiwan and Japan.
The only downpoint is that this convenience store seems to be the only one of its kind, not a chain franchise. Also, frankly speaking, the name of the store is somewhat grammatically off; it should just be called "Convenience Store", not "Convenient Store". Oh, well. Adds more to the fob feel, I guess.
If the manager/owner ever reads this review of mine, I urge you to start a chain of your store! Business SHOULD be good, since the set up is very close to that of Taiwanese 7-11's. I know previous reviews have mentioned how there are similar places in the Arcadia area, but I'm not from around there, so I've never seen many convenience stores so near dead on with Taiwan's c-stores (Rowland Heights had one that came close, but it closed).
However, the sad thing is that these type of c-stores, as exciting as they seem, don't seem to have good business. The Taiwanese style c-store I spoke of was in the upper level of Diamond Plaza in Rowland Heights for a while, but the place eventually closed down after not too long. So ehh.
Either way, I think this place is amazing. I know fobs and hardcore gamers would love this place, esp if it opened a store near an internet arcade or in some sprawling Asian plaza. -
Review from Lori F.
So my sister, who lives out of state, is addicted to Asian goodies. And because she can't get them easily, and I can, I've become her supplier of sorts. This place is close, the parking is free, and it carries all the random stuff she likes! Yes, it's a little spendy, but no more so then most of this stuff typically is in specialty stores, etc. I only buy it for her as an occasional treat anyway, so I don't mind that much.
Good stuff! -

This place is pretty awesome because it's just like the convenience stores you would find on every street corner in Asian countries.
Asian magazines, frozen treats, snacks, drinks, those boxed up Asian toys you have to open to see what's inside; you name it and it's here. -
Review from Phuc Q.
Los Angeles, CA
This place is alright. I'm new to the area. I'm a lazy mofo so I don't like to cook and then clean up just to feed one person. So when I'm hungry and lazy, I come here. They've got all kinds of Asian snacks and shit. Like you know, Pocky, those little Yan-Yan thingys, sooo old school. I don't think I saw any beer there though? What's up with that buddy? Where da beer at? Sometimes I just wanna eat Pocky and get drunk! Anyways, they got some good cafe type, ready to eat meals here. Those are the shizznit! Like pork chop rice, fish filet and smoked chicken legs. Gruuuub down! They're like $5.99. It comes with an entree, rice, some veggies, some have shrums (not the magical kind) and a dinosaur egg. Hahaha! Those lil hard-boiled eggs that are cooked in soy sauce or something? Sounds de-lish huh? Got get one now, they're open 24/7. I wonder how fresh those meals are though. So the staff are a bunch of FOBS. Hahaha, they're nice though. Everyone's been very polite. Some look a lil faded. What else? It's not easy to write coherently when you're baked! The store overall is clean and shit. The floor look nasty but who fucken cares? I ain't eating in there. They must have free WiFi here because sometimes there are nerds just sitting outside on their laptops. Probably looking at internet porn. Oh for some odd reason, sometimes there are ridiculously hot women shopping here. Who wears short shorts? Asian women do! Like seriously, not much left for your imagination. Oh yeah! I'll be thinking about you a lil later. Hahaha!!! There's plenty of parking here at night when the banks closed. I've never been here during the day so I couldn't tell you how parking is. So yeah, that's it. If you want Pocky and a pork chop dinner at 4am, this is the spot.
