I say, kids these days....no respect. So it's totally ridiculous to stand in the concession stand line for like 20 minutes while a group of teenagers keep letting their friends cut in line. I finally decided to say something cause I was getting pissed and this girl, all got in my face trying to defend some guy that had just walked up and cut in line. I was like WTF. This is why I rarely come to this theater cause there are way too many young ghetto kids.
I used to go to the Barnes and Noble in this shopping center all the time but never actually watched a movie here until this week. It was rather quiet for a SoCal theater which in fact, I kinda' liked. I just saw a show down at the Spectrum several days prior and it seems like there is always a line there. The Edwards Long beach Stadium location is nice in that late afternoons/early evenings seem relatively quiet... well at least the day I went. ha!
A group of us watched "Expelled", a documentary profiling both proponents and opponents of Intelligent Design. I won't be a party pooper and say much about it, but I will say, "Go see it!". LOL!
On the snackies tip, I refrained from getting anything but did notice they had cherry, and coke icee. No blue raspberry for ICEE fans like myself. hehe.

This place has great potential, but it is wasted due to horrible service. The theaters are filthy, the marquees are not updated (entire showtimes have been left off), and several times the movie quality has been poor. Either the film is scratched/dusty, or it isn't aligned properly, or doesn't que up with the sound. At least it has nice seats and a lot of screens, but so do alot of other theaters. Boo.

This theatre is close to our house, so we go to the movies here pretty regularly. We saw "Smart People" last night, and it was not a bad experience. The seats are nice, and I don't really ever feel crowded, even when the place is full.
I will say this, though, to the two little ladies who were sitting behind us: just because no one is talking on the screen, that is not your cue to fill up the silence with your comments. Yes, I can hear you; yes, it is rude, and yes, silence in a movie is just as important to pay attention to as the dialogue; there is plenty of emotion in silence, which you might get to experience if you weren't mindlessly yammering.
There, I feel better now...
I'm pretty sure I visited this theater for the last time the other night. Aside from the bad parking and throngs of movie-goers creating long ticket lines, I just can't handle the ghetto factor here any longer.
That's saying a lot because I'm a girl who can hold her own in the hood.
I was here with Christian G. to watch a movie in a crowded theater. We were very unfortunate to have chosen seats in front of a very disturbed guy who had a serious problem with anger management. I think he was upset that he could not put his feet up because we were sitting in front of him.
He waited for the entire movie to finish (2 HOURS) to vent his anger in the lobby. I had no idea what was going on until I returned from the ladies room and found this creep poking Christian in the chest, provoking him and trying his best to extract an "apology".
Freak show.
I really didn't want a brawl at the movie theater and I took Christian by the arm to walk away. The guy followed us out of the theater and into the parking lot, taunting us the entire time.
The softer feminine side of me wanted to pound my delicate fist into his face.
We had to duck into a restaurant to lose the creepy guy and he finally went home....to beat-up his elderly grandmother and her seeing-eye dog I'm sure.
I was really bothered that during this whole confrontation there was not a single security guard or the ever-present police officer nearby to ask for assistance. I just don't feel safe here anymore, I doubt I'll be back.

26 cinemas... oh my. I love this theater because they never say anything when I walk in with food or drinks... so I just stop by juice it up or starbucks on the way in.... because honestly who wants to pay 5 dollars for a fountain soda? and the same for a small bag of popcorn. This theater always has new releases on midnight for big movies, so I definitely always come here for those... and if its really big they offer multiple theaters to the opening. Tickets can be bought online via fandango and picked up at the kiosk or you can always purchase them at the window. The bad is that they offer no type of discount so 10.50 is the standard rate when not matinee. Theaters are generally bigger the closer they are to the center and get smaller as you move down the hallways.

I gave it four stars cause its right next to a arcade. They also have some nights where you can purchase an unlimited card for unlimited game play on the games. Luckily one time, this one guy was done and was leaving .. we happen to bump into him on our way in, and he asked if we wanted his card cause it had unlimited play on it til the arcade closed. SURE! =) score!
The games are pretty decent. They have the usual racing games, ddr, air hockey (my fave!), basketball, etc. They also have this laser tag section.
Onto the movie theater. The theater itself is pretty big holding 26 screens. There are the bigger theaters for the newly released and the smaller ones for the ones that have been running for a while. The thing with this theater is that when its packed, you'll for sure end up in the theater with crying babies or commentators who cannot keep to themselves, grrrr! That's always been the case with my experiences here.
On the good side, they do take the movie vouchers from costco =) so you'll save a buck or two.
The parking is a mess at night/weekend nights. Since it sits in an area of restaurants as well as shops, parking is always full. You'll have to stalk people down as they leave to find a parking thats relatively close .. or you can park really far and walk to the theater complex.

As far as movie theaters go, this place is one of the best!
26 screens mean movies play longer and big box office hits are less prone to sell outs.
Only problem is parking if you go to a movie on a weekend after about 5 or six.
Used to really like this theatre. Came here last night and I wondered why I ever came here. The theatre was a mess. The concessions area was a MESS!
The guy that helped us took forever. My roomie ordered a pretzel and the guy gives us a frozen one. He takes it back after we point it out DUH! and he takes 100 yrs to come back with a warm one. What the heck did he do with it back there? Well it's bagged so hopefully nothing? The boy gets nachos and the cheese is lukewarm at best. Yuck.
We had sucky seats, babies and small children were crying and making noise, people behind us KEPT TALKING!, parking itself was horrific, and again, the place was so messy. They can keep the 3 stars for now due to the history I have had here. I've had lots of good experiences here in the past.
What happened??????????

This theater is awesome, but only Monday through Thursdays. Going to this place on the weekend means traversing scarce parking and running the risk of seeing a sold-out movie. However, this place is darn near dead during the week! Great parking, and you can see any movie you want! They also have stadium seating with the fold-up arm rests, good for snuggling with your significant other, or creating a barrier for the "movie talker, popcorn inhaler" next to you (otherwise known as me!).
Other helpful advice, buy discount tickets from somewhere else: school, work, entertainment books, scalpers, it will be cheaper! This place is too expensive otherwise! I will give out mad props to the delicious popcorn makers here! I'm such a fan of delicious, fresh popped popcorn!
Like all movie theaters the employees are adolescent zit-faced kids, but they're at least tolerable here. Also, don't let the marquee fool you, the movie you saw playing there in the newspaper is there! They don't have room on the marquee for all the movies they play so make sure to walk up to the window to check out the full listings they have printed and posted there.

Just saw Rescue Dawn here, and i was inside thinking, "this is a nice theater". The sound is good and the seats are well kept. But holy shit, the general admission is $11! They do play a lot of more indie movies though, so thats nice... since there are no Leammle's around here.

Yes, I know they have 26 screens but c'mon, this theater is becoming more and more ghetto every day. It's definitely not the worst theater around (nowhere near the Pine Street AMC--sheesh) but it's definitely gone downhill over the past few years. I will give 'em this: they do let you bring in outside food/drinks, play the occasional indie flick and ALL of their theaters have stadium seating--which is important for the vertically challenged. (such as myself)

i came here last night to watch vantage point & jumper.. it got worse here.. the seats are SO DIRTY! anyway.. the outdoor shopping centers.. outside of the theater is a cool place to hang out.. they have new stores and stuff..
Oh what pain in the ass this place can be...
It's a really nice theater, make no mistake about it, but it's just getting inside the place that I hate. I agree with Amy P. If you can go during the first part of the week after all the busy weekend traffic that goes through Towne Centre. You'll find parking, won't have to wait in long lines for tickets or food/drink and can actually find decent seats. However if you're like me and want to go see a movie opening weekend (or on the weekend period) then be prepared to come over an hour before you movie starts.
The parking lot can be madness with everyone shopping or eating at the various restaurants around the theater. You might have to circle the parking lot or follow people around until a spot opens up. The lines to get tickets can get long, so I advise you to use one of the two kiosks to the right over the ticket booth, just right of the doors. It's easy to find and if you've used any kiosk or atm, then you should have no problem getting tickets. You can also get cash back at the machines too if you need it. You'll have your tickets 10 times faster that way. Like I said before, get your tickets about 45mins to an hour before your showing and go right to whatever theater it is playing in. If you wait until the last half hour, chances are you will have to sit up towards the very front. I cannot stress this point enough. Don't go get food or drink until you have seats. Then send someone to go gather everything.
The theater is one of the more expensive at $11 a ticket for peek movie watching hours. That's why I try not to come here unless I am shopping or going out to dinner there. Otherwise I go to an AMC theater first thing on Saturday or Sunday and get in for $5. Less crowds and cheaper.
Remember what I said above and you will know what to expect and you won't get mad at missing a movie or having horrible seats. :)

Mixed feelings about this place. Seems to be one of the newer/cleaner movie theaters around and they show most of the new movies out... but the set up is so crazy! Parking is a pain in the butt and why put a theater in an already busy shopping plaza? *sigh down grades my shopping experience cuz i can't circle like a buzzard as easily to hunt down parking.

They generally show at least a few good movies here at any given time, but otherwise it's not so great. Every time I've been here it's been crowded and dirty. Also, parking at the Towne Center is terrible, unless you're really into mazes and labyrinths. Plus (and this is the worst thing of all) I don't think this theater offers student discounts, which is just unforgivable.

I love going to this theater. It's the largest one in Long Beach. It's easy to get to from the 605 fwy. Plus, I get to use my coupons cuz they raised the adult admission to $11! What the heck? Despite the price, I enjoy choosing which movies I want to see, sitting in the comfy seats and the great surround sound. Though try to avoid going on the weekends cuz the kids come out and get rowdy!

One of the better multiplex in southern California.
Located in the popular Long Beach Towne Center, right near the Carson street side and close to the freeway exits. The great thing about coming into this theaters was the shopping center stores and other restaurants in that plaza. It is also conveniently right in front of an arcade.
Stadium seatings in their auditoriums with plush arm bar. Comfy seating is a must coming into theaters. Stereo surround sounds rule the day. I can enjoyed the loud bam action movies with these suckers.
Speaking of movies, they do play many of the first run movies. At times, they also shown limited engagement movies or special movies in limited theaters. Independent movies may get some play here, but not the artsy fartsy movies.
The concessions are OK. Gotten my fixes of hot dogs and icee without much of a trouble. The wait can be bad on a Friday or Saturday night. The prices are OK, a norm compares to other theaters.
There will be ample of parking, but beware on a busy night. It will get hard to find a decent parking space even though the parking lot are huge.
On a weekend afternoon, teenagers will descend upon here and take over the theaters, but at night families and couples will reign supreme.

you can bring in your own food or drink(s) and you dont have to hide them!!
I love the set up of the theater but I hate the staff and the crowds. They offer a great selection of movies and they make great use of the space to offer 26 films but they really need to work on the cleanliness and the customer service of the staff...
When I want to know where I can find the exit I shouldn't have to have every one look at each other as if I wasn't speaking English. I mean I know I'm not crazy so tell me how to get the hell out of this place!
Do yourself a favor and buy the tickets from the machines on the side to save time and make sure that you get there early because parking as usual folks in a pain in the ass. Most of the time the side concession stands are NOT open so send your loving pal to wait in line while you head over and play some video games.
Of course regular movie theater rules apply... get your seats early if you want something decent... don't show up late expecting to sit middle and center... turn off your cell phones... and please shut the hell up... :)
Its not a bad theater, too bad its a bit pricier and they don't offer discounts like they used to...
Why do people flock here?
This is my LEAST favorite theater and shopping complex in all of Long Beach. The parking is terrible, and once you get in (if you can get in with all the traffic) it's hard to get back out. I like Edwards just not this one. I prefer the Cinemark at the Pike or Marina Pacifica.
