Alberto spent almost an hour with me and answered every single question I had and really made me feel comfortable with leaving my family heirloom engagement ring with him to be sized down. Edmund, his father even came and spoke with me for a while giving me the history behind the particular cut of the stone etc. It was very educational which I really appreciated. They both were very understanding of the separation anxiety that a girl gets when leaving her ring for the first time. Their prices are very reasonable too, especially when compared to any of the large jewelers in Union Sq.

They had the ring back to me within a few days and it actually, through my own fault, ended up being too big still. I wore the ring a few days and then called back to see if I could bring it back to be sized down again. They were both so nice and understanding and were happy to have me bring it back. I brought it up the next day and they re sized it and had it back to me in less than 24hours!  My ring now fits perfectly and I know I have a jeweler I can trust.

This is a wonderful place that I would definitely recommend.

I'm so glad I found these guys.  I needed a small repair to a ring I bought in Italy and didn't want to take it "just anywhere".  There are a lot of jewelry repair places in the downtown area but Edmund and Albert are at the top of their game.  The repair work was perfect!  I enjoyed chatting with Albert about some of the pieces he had made and got to know that they used to do all of Shreve's repairs/sizings.  I highly recommend these jewelers.  Oh yeah, they sell diamonds too!

We went in for an appraisal (for insurance purposes) of a custom made engagement ring a few weeks ago.  Amazing service: both Weber and his son are very knowledgable and personable.  They discovered that my diamond (bought at the height of the recession) had been undervalued by about a third of what they price should have been, so they gave us a very pleasant surprise and explained why they thought the value was different than what we were told when we bought it.  In addition, they were finished with the paperwork exactly when they said they would be and even called us to remind us it was done after we got too busy and failed to call them when we said we would.  I would definitely recommend them to a friend and will return whenever I need something custom as I'm sure they do great custom work based on our conversation.  Couldn't recommend them higher.

I can't recommend this father and son team enough. I recently got engaged in Mexico and needed to speak to a jeweler in SF about possibly getting my ring re-sized. I turned to Yelp for a recommendation and couldn't be happier with my results! It is a very nerve racking thought to have to leave your diamond engagement ring with someone you don't know after hearing so many horror stories of things that have gone terribly wrong. As soon as I met Alberto I knew I was in good hands. Alberto and his father (Edmund) took a great deal of time talking to me about my ring and my options for re-sizing. They gave me honest advice and I completely trusted them to fix my ring. I left my ring with them to be fixed and picked it back up the same day!! The ring turned out better than I could ever imagine!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ALBERTO!! We will definitely be seeing you when it comes time for our wedding bands!! Btw, Alberto also did an appraisal for me and gave me a great deal on the price seeing as intricate my ring is. :)

I recently purchased a diamond ring from an online merchant and after several months, the diamond became loose on the setting.  After reading the amazing reviews, I walked into Edmund Weber Jewelers without an appointment to get it re-set.

Edmund made me feel really comfortable with leaving my jewelery with him. I don't know much about diamonds, but he spent time explaining how to take care of it, why it became loose in the first place, and how all of the work is done on-site in his office.

After a couple of days, I came back to pick up the ring in much better condition than when I left it. I highly recommend this shop!

A few days ago the plating on my white gold antique engagement ring came off suddenly. I have no idea why it happened, but I was quite upset to see a beautiful ring lose it's sheen and coloring.

Needless to say, I wanted this fixed right away and I didn't want to wait the few days customary at other places.

Edmund Jewelers to the rescue. For a reasonable place, the ring was replated in less than an hour. Since it was raining outside, they even let me hang out in their office while I waited. I walked out of there with a once again beautiful ring and a big smile on my face. And I'll definitely be coming back should I have any jewelry repair or custom design needs.

For a price below what I expected to pay from such a well-rated jeweler (and what others nearby had quoted), this father-son team replaced a stone in my engagement ring and made additional repairs, too.  They were incredibly fast, polite, and careful with my ring.  It was my first time there and I wasn't spending much, but they treated me like I had been one of their best, lifelong clients.

Also, they made me feel very comfortable by meeting with me and discussing the process and my options.  They made a recommendation when I asked, but ultimately gave me the freedom to choose what I wanted.  I can't say enough good things about my experience here.

Edmund Weber and his son are the absolute best jewelers in the city. I could not have been happier with their services and incredible craftsmanship
    .
When my fiancé proposed (under the stars, moonlit sky, a tropical beach, on his knees, gorgeous resort, but that's another Yelp review), he worked with his mother and her jeweler (who live in another state) to design my engagement ring and wedding band. The design was phenomenal, a gorgeous stone (a family heirloom, originally belonging to his mother) set in a platinum band embedded with two dozen smaller stones wrapping around the band. I couldn't have been more surprised or pleased or happy or overjoyed or (insert appropriate superlative here).  The only problem was, the love of my life mixed up my shoe size (average) with my ring size (smaller than average) and the ring needed to be resized to fit my petite fingers.
The initial challenge was finding a local jeweler whom I could trust with the work as well as with the ring (read: emotional value to me at this point was right up there with "priceless"). Until said engagement ring appeared, I had entrusted my jewelry repair work to Shreve, whom I knew outsourced to local gemologists and jewelry repair services. But with this piece, I needed to understand (directly from the jeweler/gemologist doing the actual repair) what was being done with respect to re-sizing, so I decided to go straight to the source.

Enter the father and son team of Edmund Weber jewelers.  They have been in business for many years, and one can easily ascertain that they know their jewelry and gem settings. I was so appreciative of the time they took to evaluate my ring, the work at hand, the solutions they proposed, and the time frame they proposed to complete the work within.  In addition, they were particularly attentive to my anxiety about having to give up my engagement ring for the repair; and called me every couple of days with updates.

Their work was exquisite. They built in a sleeve and beads to ensure the ring stayed on my finger, and their craftsmanship was so seamless unless you looked very closely, it was nearly impossible to see the modifications. Given the intricate work they do, their prices are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended!

I almost forgot to write about these guys but then my new wife reminded me when she went back. I went to Edmund Weber with a family heirloom diamond but no setting. I sat down with Alberto and he spent a lot of time with me explaining every detail of diamonds and ring settings, from raw materials to the subtle contrast of metal and jewel colors.

A few weeks later my then fiance had an amazing one of a kind antique setting that she absolutely loves and continues to get comments on a year later.

Over the course of our engagement, they both spent a lot of time with me and my wife making sure both of our rings fit well and were what we wanted and even shined hers up for the wedding.

Edmund R. Weber Jewelers are fantastic!  I have two pieces of jewelry from my husband's grandmother that I wanted appraised and fixed; one my antique engagement ring which needed the prongs around the stone tightened, and the other a gold bracelet with garnets which needed the clasp chain replaced.  I made an appointment, and both the father and son (it's a family business) were great!  They had a busy day and wanted me to leave the jewelry overnight.  I wasn't that comfortable with it so they asked if I could leave the jewelry and come back in a couple of hours.  I agreed to that when the son really made me feel comfortable about their integrity and security.  I appreciated the quick accommodation as well.  I came back two hours later, the jewelry was cleaned, beautiful, and fixed!   I would go back to them and I highly recommend them!

Edmund Weber is pretty awesome.  I had to get my engagement ring resized and appraised.  Since my ring has a really delicate setting, I was worried about leaving my ring with any jeweler (not to mention paranoia about jewelers switching out diamonds for cz).

After reading the wonderful yelp reviews and verifying that he was a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, I decided to give him a call.  Make sure to make an appointment because you have to be buzzed into the office and they're on lunch from 12-1:30.  An appointment is a great idea because he took the time to answer my ten million questions about diamonds.  He also makes custom pieces and showed me a ring that he was working on.   His son did a great job on resizing my ring.  They gave me a discount on the appraisal because I have the GIA report.  My fiance was quite happy that the appraised value of the ring from http://adiamor.com came in much higher than the purchase price!

Edmund R. Weber really is as good as it gets.  This father & son duo are true artisans, and can help you have your concepts developed into beautiful, superbly crafted pieces of jewelry.  They are honest, and unlike most other jewelers I dealt with, quoted me reasonable prices right up front with little to no haggling necessary.  High quality, hand-crafted jewelry at a reasonable, fair price - what more can you ask for from a jeweler?  Although I haven't purchased any precious gems from them, I can attest to the quality of their platinum work: it is top notch.

Rumor has it that they do a lot of work for Shreve's (which is next door).

I had my wife's wedding ring  custom made here, to fit precisely around her engagement ring. We couldn't be happier with their attention to detail, the quality of their work, their reasonable prices and the beauty of the final product. They spent a lot of time going over different engraving designs, and hand-drawing many of them to try and get my wife's vision encapsulated in the ring.
They also repaired a small chip a different jewler had made in the engagement ring, and appraised our jewelery for insurrance purposes.

Great service, great people and for a touch of some old fashioned personal customer service that you won't find in some of the bigger, flashier chains, this is the place to go. We'll definitly be repeat customers

Edmund R. Weber Jewelers is a class act, and true experts at what they do. My husband and I recently purchased a gorgeous antique (Art Deco) platinum and diamond ring, and we needed it sized in a hurry. We decided on Edmund Weber based on the glowing reviews here. I'm so glad we went!

Edmund Weber Jewelers is a charming father and son team, with many decades of experience between them. They were able to size the ring down two sizes within a few hours, and even despite a near-catastrophe: No one could have possibly known that the shank of this 80-year-old ring had been soldered with white gold (as opposed to welded with platinum, which is far stronger), which resulted in the shank breaking during the sizing process. They called immediately to inform me about what happened, and they told me that they would fix it by welding it with platinum, however this simple sizing job had turned into something a lot more complicated.  Despite the extra effort it took, they did not charge me more than what they had initially quoted me. Truly very classy!

They also fabricate their own jewelry, and while I was waiting, they showed off a few pieces to me. The craftsmanship was clearly superb. I asked if they could work off sketches and do custom work, and they said that was one of their specialties. I tucked that away into my mental bank.

Sure, you could go somewhere else and be charged a few dollars less, but these guys are at the top of their field, they take great pride and care in their work, and you *will* get what you pay for! :-)

After my recent engagement, I feared separation anxiety from my ring when I needed sizing beads put onto my ring to keep the diamond from moving from side to side. I had the pleasure of working with Alberto Weber from the start. Called to make an appointment (which is recommended), and came in early to drop off my ring for the sizing beads, an appraisal, and a resize for another ring.

Alberto went through the whole process with me, explaining what he was doing while examining the ring to make sure it matched the GIA certificate that came with it.

The process was super quick and easy, and he took got me the beads, appraisal, and resize in a VERY reasonable time. Keep in mind that professional quality work has to take some time, so you won't get it back immediately, but it sure as hell beats the 4-6 week wait that some jewelers require. Mine was finished WELL before then.

These jewelers do a ton of work for individuals and businesses alike, so be patient-- what you'll get back will be perfect.

Since they also do custom work, we'll be coming in to have them create our wedding bands.

Support this family-run business instead of opting for the traditional jewelry store. What you'll get is top-quality friendly service, with a personal touch.

Prices are very reasonable. $125 for an appraisal if you have a certificate. $90 to resize (this might only be for platinum), and $90 for the sizing beads.

I'm sure this business will get MUCH more love from Yelp in the coming months and years, so when that happens and wait times to get your jewelry gets longer, please keep in mind that they are a SMALL business, and will not compromise quality in order to get your jewels back sooner. So, when you're writing reviews in late 2009 and 2010, try not to be ignorant and rate low for a long(er) turnaround time. Look at the quality of their work and be happy that your diamond wasn't swapped for a fake, and that your resize wasn't really resized correctly. These jewelers know what they are doing. Be sure to call them and give them some love after you use their services.

I wish I could give Weber Jewelers 10 stars!  They are a lovely and incredibly talented father and son team who really love what they do and take great pride in their work.   They recently designed and made my wedding band and I literally got it in 4 days!  The diamonds on the band are stunning and the prongs are tiny--  it is perfection!!!!!!

From someone who is a perfectionist and likes fine things, I can honestly say that they are top notch, top of the line and extremely meticulous and amazing craftsman.  I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to do an bespoke piece of jewelry.

Thank you again Alberto and Edmund-- you have a customer for life.

I needed a jewler I could trust. I wouldn't trust just any jeweler with my diamond. Thanks to these great reviews I took my engagement ring and wedding ring to Edmund R. Weber to get resized.
My fiance bought my rings online and although the store offered FREE resizing it wasn't really free since we had to pay for shipping and insurance. Also it would have taken weeks to get the rings back and I couldn't have my engagement ring off my finger for more than a couple of days.

I called and made an appointment for the same day. Edmund was really nice and accomodating. I took a late lunch and brought the rings up. Alberto helped me choose the best size for my ring. They offer quarter sizes which really helped me because I felt like the whole size was too big while the half size was a bit too tight.
My rings were ready in two days (it would have been the next day if it was only one ring) and they were perfect. Shiny and smooth with no imperfections. I had to pay a little more for rhodium plating because my rings were white gold but it was worth it.

They also have a wonderful selection of jewelry. I told my fiance to keep them in mind when shopping for an anniversary. :)

If you need resizing on your ring, an expert opinion, or yo are in the market for jewelry, this is the place to go for an honest and experienced answer. They resized my fiance's engagement ring perfectly, and they gave me a number of options to go down a 1/4 size on my wedding band including not doing anything at all. They have been in business for a long time and have a great reputation in the industry. The prices are reasonable considering you know that any work they perform will be done correctly.

Edmund Weber has one of the finest reputations among jewelry professionals in the Bay Area.  His upstairs studio is off the beaten track, and I'd recommend calling in advance to schedule an appointment. Whether I have been in the market for a custom design or an emergency repair on a piece of jewelry, he has exceeded my expectations.  The quality of his designs and craftsmanship is legendary.  He has great connections and can always get excellent prices on diamonds and  colored gems.

Edmund Weber did an amazing job of restoring my 1920s pierced platinum wedding band and replacing some stones that had fallen out.  The ring looks much better than when it was purchased 8 years ago -- it looks like new!  Edmund and his son were very friendly and gracious, and I would highly recommend the shop.  Sure it took a few weeks, but I'm willing to wait for quality work.  The cute Yelp review from Edmund Weber's grandson is what sent me there in the first place -- it's truly a family operation, and they are great at what they do.

Sadly their hours are not awesome for someone who has to work.  I moved my lunch break to try to make it there today, but a note on the door said they were closed until 1:30.  I ended up getting my rings resized at Ravits in the Crocker Galleria instead, where they charged the same reported price ($55) but of course service is not same-day.

I recently got engaged and I had told my fiance that my ring size was a 7.  Guess what?  It wasn't.  When he put the ring on my finger it was pretty loose but I wanted to wear it anyway.  I live in the East Bay and work in San Francisco and ride BART in everyday.  After one day of walking around with a diamond ring that could slip off at any minute (I kept picturing that it would fall down those grates or manholes in the sidewalk) I decided to call some jewelers in the East Bay and see who could size the ring fairly quickly.  Everyone in Walnut Creek quoted about 2 weeks and some of the prices were pretty steep just for ring sizing.  I couldn't bear to part with my ring for that long!  I did a search on yelp for jewelers close to work.  I read the great reviews on Edmund R. Weber Jewelers and gave them a call and received a very reasonable price quote so I scheduled an appointment for that same morning.  I dropped by their shop around 11 am and Alberto sized my finger (it turns out I'm a size 6.25).  He was very understanding of my paranoia and reluctance  to part with my new ring and told me I could pick it up in the afternoon.  Wow! Same day service and for less than what other jewelers were quoting me for a 2 week turn around.  I was floored!!!!!!   I went back around 3:00 to pick it up and it fit perfectly.  They did a beautiful job.  Edmund also showed me what they use to clean their jewelry and explained what cleaning solutions I should buy and how to use them to keep my ring clean and sparkly.  The 2 cleaning solutions I bought were less that $4 at my local Target!  I clean my ring at least once a week and it always comes out incredibly sparkly.

I'm planning on going back to them and have my diamond earrings re-done.  They need new posts.  Edmund and Alberto are very knowledgeable and honest.  I highly recommend them.  Even if I end up not working in San Francisco anymore, I would make the drive out to them because I know they will do a wonderful and professional job.   That says a lot because I HATE driving.

This place is awesome.  Alberto and Edmund are real gems. :o)

I had a tricky situation where I had two rings:  a solitaire and a mount that I wanted the solitaire diamond mounted into. The fit was not exactly perfect; my diamond was about 1/4 ct too small for the mount, and it was a little complicated since it was rectangular shaped.  I wanted to go to a jeweler I could trust and who had the reputation of doing flawless, superb work.  You yelpers did not let me down!!!!

Edmund did a fantastic job and made the whole thing work together beautifully.  Woo hoo!!!

I also got an insurance appraisal from them, which I was pleased (shocked!) with.

They also bought the metal from the solitaire ring, which saved me a chunk of change on the final bill.

Edmund R Weber Jewelers, and Edmund and Alberto are truly a class act!

Like most other reviewers, we had an excellent experience with Weber Jewelers.  We had a platinum engagement ring -- a family heirloom -- re-sized and repaired.  The work was beautifully done and done quickly enough so my fiancee could wear the ring for an occasion the same week.

Their shop is more old-fashioned than flashy, but they have some beautiful pieces and father and son were both utterly trustworthy.

I got my platinum diamond ring re-sized at Edmund Weber Jewelers and was extremely pleased with the service and results!

On the first re-sizing, the ring turned out to be too small (I had chosen the size on a cold day, and when I picked it up, it was a warm day, so my finger had expanded).  Edmund told me that he'd be happy to re-adjust the size to ensure a good fit.  So, he re-sized it again the very same day (at no charge), and now it fits perfectly!  This was quite a bit of extra work for them, but they did it quickly and with no additional charges.

It's great to find a small business you can trust for their quality work and their focus on customer satisfaction.  Their prices are very good as well.  I'd definitely recommend them.

I just got engaged and the family heirloom ring my finace gave me was *too* small.  Not having done this sort of thing before, I was going to be downtown for some other appointments this week and knew there would be some good jewelers in the Union Square area.  I actually found these guys here on Yelp, and just loved the family-business vibe, the 5 star reviews ... so I called to check it out and see what's what.  Edmund himself answered the phone in his wonderful "sounds so smart and expert" German accent.  He told me he's been in that same building (the Shreve building) since the 60's, that they do all the repair work for more famous jewelers than I could remember, and well, to just come on over, but not during lunch because that's when they do errands.  Can I say, so cute?!  I was sold, trusted him like my own grandfather and brought the ring over the next day.  The sizing was perfect, and done to pick up the next day.  I would not hesitate to come back to this no nonsense family business , nor refer anyone of my friends to use them.  Hope I have a reason to come back soon ... more jewelry on the horizon???

My parents gave me a ring for my bday and they sized it for the wrong hand. So I needed a jeweler to make it bigger. After reading the Yelp reviews I decided to go to Edmund Weber. I brought it in around 11 and it was ready for pickup at 3:30. Pretty sweet! The hours are a little weird (not open during lunch, close at 5) which makes it difficult to go outside of work hours - it would have been perfect if I could have run over there on my lunch hour, but otherwise I was happy with the service. He charged me $55 to go up a size on a thin gold band.

Great father-son team, reliable, high-quality work and very ethical.  I brought in a watch for a repair, and they took care of the problem that was outside of their normal scope, called within a week, and did a great job fixing it.  I wouldn't go to anyone else for this kind of work!

The Webers designed and made our wedding rings. I can't tell you how many people have asked about them. They are exceptionally well made and are very heavy duty yet delicate and elegant. I understand that they have done work for billionaires, which says something about the quality of their work. Amazingly, everything is also very well priced. Alberto delivered our rings on the weekend -- I picked them up at a Dennys in Novato. It doesn't get any better than this -- top notch service and a high quality product at a reasonble price.
