What's in Laughlin Nevada? Not a lot really.  This town is right on the AZ-NV border.  Looks like it's a popular stop over for people on the way to some R & R on the Colorado River.

I booked my room in the older tower. I had an interesting conversation in the parking garage elevator with a man who was up $50 and just back from a beer run.  Lugged my bag into the lobby to check in.  They really don't have an easy way for guests to get from the parking structure to the lobby.  Side walk, high curbs, asphalt and irregular pavement not great for a rolling duffle.  Check in was quick.

I went up to my room and collapsed for a few minutes.  I was just glad to be off the road at that point.  The room was clean, the bathroom was a nice size.  I was too tired to schlep it back to the garage (and didn't want to lose my space) so I took advantage of the in-house fine dining available on the premises (read fast food).  I settled for Sbarro and this was probably where things went down hill.  I had a greasy slice of pepperoni and a suspect ceasar salad. I wanted to stay here because they had internet and a "fitness center".  Little did I know internet access was 10 dollars a day and the internet junkie I am payed the fee.  I woke up early hoping to run off some of grease from the night before.  The "fitness center" consists of two basic tread mills, a malfunctioning elliptical and a reclined stationary bike (see the picture attached).  I had a run on the t-mill.  Grabbed an overpriced egg mcmuffin at the McDonalds in the casino, played a few rounds of penny slots, cleaned up and headed out.  They have in-room express check out so that was kind of cool.  You can close out your bill right from the TV set.  Take advantage of the midweek deals, I think rooms go for under 20 and it's better than Motel 6.  Hey they have a "fitness center!"

You don't go to Laughlin to party like it's 1999. You go here so that you can play in the river all day and chill and lounge at night. So our second stop of the evening in our Laughlin debauchery was at the Inferno NightClub. (head down with a long pause) The room was filled, but we were glad to be able to snatch a table and chairs for our group. I could only imagine how hard it is to DJ this type of venue when you have old and young people there. So I give props to the DJ for trying to keep the party going for everyone. As for the go-go dancers ... YOU LOOKED BORED! It looked painful to just watch you on stage. I could have done better even to the old skool music the DJ was playing. Other than that, the drinks were cheap and good, and surprisingly, security was very very nice.

I always thougth whenever I would venture into Nevada's casinos that they'd put Indian casinos to shame... but when I entered the Edgewater casino.... I thought it was the side entrance and when I realized it was the front... and that THIS was all there was to it??? I knew why people would rather stay in Phx and play at Casino Arizona rather than make the voyage to Laughlin. Pshhh... this place blows!

The ONLY good thing I could find was the 3 dollar blackjack tables. If you appear to be under the age of 60 the bartenders don't even realize you're there! And the place is swamped with penny machines all blinking for your enjoyment. i won a lil bit, not too much though. I'm not filing under a higher tax bracket or anything.

Some of my friends started to play blackjack and I joined in and then SUDDENLY my games were 5 dollars a hand and theirs were 3. Oh I was pissed! and won some and then took my winnings and took off to the $10 and under store. I liked this one bag but I didn't get it :( and then we ventured into another store where they had all the cheezy vegas-esque trinkets. I bought a blackjack cheat card and a magnent.

Across from there they had a small coffee shop where they had krispy kreme doughnuts that looked BOOTY! Just nasty!  *shudder* SO not cute! But I bought one anyway!! LMAO! Ugh, I regretted it the first bite I took!

Ugh, the whole detour into Edgewater was a bit of a mistake. I don't kno where we should have gone... but edgewater wasnt' the best place.

The whole time I was there, I was wondering "Why are people HERE instead of Vegas?" To answer your question, I was here because I had to, our tour guide decided to books us in the city of Laughlin.

So yea you immediately know that it's not as fancy or grand as any of the lower end hotel/casinos on the Las Vegas strip.

We decided to have dinner at the Buffet. We saw two guys get in a verbal exchange. Interesting. The food was very mediocre. I liked the pizza, not saying much because who can mess up pizza? My mom insisted the orange juice that they served us was 'watered down' It might've been, who really knows?

The elevators were very cramped and stuffy! Every passing second, I swear it was getting hotter.

Oh but they had a nice arcade. I thought it was a nice gesture for the kids. The prizes were lame. I've come to the realization that THEY RIP US OFF. The money that we spent on the tickets could've bought hundreds of those string rings! Never again. Good ting we only spend 5 dollars.

They had a pool, but it closed at 10. Boo.

Oh here was the highlight of my stay. The hotel is right next to the Colorado River. So there's this dock. We go out there and there's RACCOONS! I've never seen a raccoon in my life, other than the roadkill ones. They were so adorable! They were eating the food, people were throwing down into shore area, along with the ducks. There was also these huge fishes, at least a foot long. Amazing stuff. Oh I also saw a skunk! It was meddling with the raccoons.

Final thoughts, a cheap hotel, try to avoid the casinos at Laughlin, they're no Vegas.

Awesome hotel with a nice river view!!!

my friends and I came here and we brought our wave runner from san diego. they have an awesome boat launch area and the hotel sits right on the waters edge with easy to get up onto the wave runners and cruise off from the waters edge.

I love this place and will totally be coming back here later.

Stayed at this hotel 2wks ago.  It's an older hotel and it felt a little spooky, but nonetheless its pretty clean and you get what you pay for. The ceilings are unusually low which is a little weird.  The buffet was just OK.  Overall its not a bad place to get a good nights rest after a day in the river.

The last time I was here I was about 14 or 15, which was almost 10 years ago but I'm sure within that time period, the place hasn't changed at all. I thought it was the crummiest out of the hotels on the strip. I always wished my Dad chose for us to stay at the Flamingo or better yet, the Colorado Belle, where my cousins normally stayed.

The rooms are adorned with a Santa Fe motif, as I like to call it it, and are average size. We always got an adjoining room and managed to squeeze in 4 adults and 5 children. The room service and attendants are responsive. We had to call for them a few times because we often needed extra cots so that my Dad could squeeze in more folks.

The arcade is the worst. I think the best game they had was Cruisin' USA.

The pool area wasn't so bad; at least it was clean and decent.

The food stand in the casino had the best shrimp cocktail. I enjoyed the buffet but that was when I was 14 and didn't have opinions.

This hotel is by far the Biggest Shit Hole I have ever stayed in.  The rooms are down right nasty!!!
Upon arriving at my room for the first time - there was an overwhelming smell of poop - yes I said poop!!!  I quickly figured out the smell was coming out of the bathroom sink and the shower - hello - gross.  I really do not enjoy raw sewage backing up into my room.  I called the front desk and they were not concerned or interested.
I was in Laughlin for work and we had 5 rooms in a row on the 7th floor and 5 rooms on the 2nd floor and they all had the same offensive smell.  Some of the rooms actually had "stuff" come up the sink drain and the shower.  I was not this unlucky.
The housekeeping staff leaves alot to be desired they clean your room basically if they feel like it.  I would leave my room each morning at 8am and return no earlier than 9pm - usually to my un-made room.  After the third day I called housekeeping and they said it was because I had the dead bolt on and they were unable to enter the room.  Hello I was not in the room - so it was not possible to have the deadbolt on.
A request for fresh towels was made at 10pm - the towels arrived at 2am!!!!!
I finally decided I didnt want housekeeping to enter my room at all.  So, one morning I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door and a male housekeeper entered my room without knocking just used his key and came right on in - while I was on the toilet - awkward.  Hey I warned him - DO NOT DISTURB!!!!!!
There is nothing good to say about this place - the bellman took 30 minutes to arrive and than stood with his hand out for a tip.  The Valet service sucked - had to wait in the car for 15 min for someone to take the keys.  The Buffett was NASTY, Cocos was overpriced and yucky - creepy waiter too.

The whole place was just dirty

My family goes to Laughlin a few times a year and we always stay at this hotel.  It's not five star, but Edgewater has comfortable, clean rooms with very reasonable pricing.  The Grand Buffet (Dinner) at Edgewater is very tasty.  I'm usually not a Buffet fan, but I would make an exception just for this place.  The restaurant has everything from Korean BBQ to Chocolate Fountain Fondue...Yum Yum.
