5 reviews for Edgewater Golf Range
Certainly there are cheaper options if you own a car and dwell outside of NYC. However, New Yorkers and Manhattanites such as myself will find this to be a nice alternative to the "one and only" option in NYC that is Chelsea Piers. With a 15-minute drive entering the Lincoln Tunnel, you are also treated to a beautiful view of the NY skyline on the other side of the Hudson River while driving through Bergen County.
With a spacious, two-floor edifice, waiting times are typically short (even on weekends). As of the last visit, rates vary depending on size of the basket with a jumbo (140-150 balls) basket going for $15. Club rentals are $2 with a $5 deposit which you get back at the end of your stay. However, the selection is rather limited (no drivers), so I'd suggest bringing your own set of clubs. There is also a nice miniature golf course that is $5 and $7 for children and adults respectively.
Lastly, there is also another commuting option from NYC through a bus out of Port Authority. The bus goes to the Japanese supermarket called Mitsuwa MarketPlace, which is just next to the driving range!

Cool place to practice your swing!
The driving range here is long and right next to the Hudson. Great place to practice your Wii Golf swing and get a great view of the NYC Skyline all at the same time!

Good view and cheap. Went here to practice today with a friend. Parking was easy and only $15 for 160 balls. It was hot outside and prices of drinks there are very cheap. $1 water $2 gatorade.
I rented a car to go do some minigolfing tonight. It was simply horrible. The pictures lied. The problems started when we arrived at 9:30pm. They're open until 11. Last bucket of balls sold at 10:30pm. Yet somehow, when we got there (again to remind you, 9:30pm), they had just closed out the credit card machine and only accepted cash. WEIRD. 1.5 hrs before closing time?! And the driving range stalls were packed! I've never encountered such a thing...
Then we walk out back to the mini golf course after paying our $7 each. It's empty. Lucky us! Wrong. The course might look great from a far, but up close, it's clearly a Monet. The greens are non-intentionally bumpy and really hard to aim on. The balls bounce a lot for some weird reason. The par is a boring "Par 2" for every hole. They did buy a loop-dee-loop and a barracade that can move from hole to hole in a lame attempt to make the otherwise boring course interesting. IT DIDN'T WORK.
Not worth the schlepp, even if you're dropped off in front for free and given $7 to play. Avoid it like the plague!

GREAT value for money (esp for a Manhattanite).
It's so much cheaper than Chelsea Piers. A jumbo basket (it's really quite a big basket) only costs $12 or something and if you're playing before a certain time (10am I think), you get a further discount.
There are 2 levels and the place is usually very crowded with Asians (mostly Chinese and Koreans) especially on the weekends. Nevertheless, if you wait a little, you'll tend to get a stall.
You look out to Manhattan from the range, I think the view is of the 100s, before the GW bridge.
It's right beside a huge Japanese supermarket (Mitsuwa) that has a foodcourt so it's perfect for a quick bite before/after a round at the driving range.
