I love this place.
The owner and staff are nice and helpful.
They have some really neat Egyptian stuff along with candles, daggers, pagan/wiccan/etc books, ritual tools, tarot, t-shirts, etc. One of the only things I've ever bought here is a wall hanging of an Egyptian scene of some sort. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I was drawn to it.
Some of the stuff they have is rather.... dark. It's not my kind of thing, but some of those books are interesting to flip through.
Neat thing- they ran out of gift certificates one time and Robert (the owner) ended up just writing the necessary information on the back of an advertisement they had and signing it. :)
They sometimes have interesting events going on in the downstairs room. I hear the staff are especially happy when the groups chant because it adds a little something extra to the upstairs atmosphere.
Um... if you use the bathroom (they share with Honey Hole), you might want to know that the first one you see is the MEN'S bathroom. That's the one I used at first and always thought there was something weird about it. One day I had to wait and realized that there were TWO bathrooms and the other one was the one for women. Oops?
In my opinion, you will get the best tarot reading in town from Raven at this shop, that is if you can make it past the rude goth chick with the rotting teeth.
Hey...stop smoking in front of the store!
Robert has a cluttered/musty place, but for some reason it feels homey. He's friendly and has a good selection of books, etc and will answer any question you have. Kind of reminds me of some of the old bookstores in England.....
I couldn't decide to give this place 3 or 4 stars. I'll do 3.5. It's a good place to purchase a Tarot deck, books on the occult or Witch/Voodoo stuff. The guy behind the counter was nice, but I left with mixed feelings about the place.
I put a spell on you
'cause you're mine
You better stop the things you do
I ain't lyin'
No I ain't lyin'
You know I can't stand it
You're runnin' around
You know better, daddy
I can't stand it cause you put me down
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine
You're mine
I love ya
I love you
I love you
I love you anyhow
And I don't care
If you don't want me
I'm yours right now
You hear me
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine

There are places that smell of moss and decay where you can get more believable spooky shit. They are all south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
Nerdy goth-guy behind the counter?
Check.
Dressed-all-in-black-and-makeup-customer-guy?
Check.
Two dozen decks of different tarot?
Check.
A multitude of books on a variety of magical cultures?
Check.
Global emphasis beyond the standard three things you see in occult-y places?
Check.
I like this place.
Very good spot for getting incense and all things wiccan. some good book selections as well.
Certainly a whole lot more than a bookstore. You'll find an amazing selection of herbs, oils, candles, cauldrons, swords, wands, altar fixin's, and some really swell old-school ready-made spells here too!
Stores like this are just hard to find round these parts.
Fair prices, informative staff, and a resident scryer to boot.
Highly recommended. Um . . . if you're into that sort of thing, I mean . . .
I admit that this store does have a bit of a limited draw - if you're not in the market for a Jan Fries book, tarot card reading, or votive candle... you'll probably never have a reason to walk through the door. However, if you find yourself in need of a sage smudge or needing to make an offering at the altar of Pan, Edge of the Circle has you covered.
The staff has always been more than helpful and willing to make special orders on things like jewelery that they carry a small selection of. The always-in-stock products also cover a wide selection of tastes and practices, whether you're needing to brush up on your Norse mythology or need to pick up some lodestone and cowrie shells. They've also good a good assortment of ritual basics, including those wee little stick candles I've never found a purpose for... because truth be told, I've never met a deity that cared where you purchased your wax products.
Everyone raves about this place, but I experienced a darkness when I walked in. Maybe that's your thing, but I try to stick to places with better energy. The selection is also rather limited...again with the dark vibes. It just doesn't float my boat, and it makes me miss my shop in Houston.
I find the shop to be ok for, you know, the run-of-the-mill cadre of occult accessories, but lacking a good inventory of out-of-the-ordinary and/or specialty items. I doubt serious occultists would be impressed but I have a feeling the shop serves the needs of the average Seattle customer ... just saying, we don't got it goin' on like the East Coast.
Owned and operated by a friendly, nerdy man in glasses who is, as he has said, married to his store, you know you're in for serious occult here. The selection is always broad with more than just "Modern Witches Spellbook" themes in mind. There is an altar near the counter that includes pieces from voodoun to wicca and beyond. Dozens of tarot decks, statues, and even athames and other ceremonial blades. The owner truly knows his stuff, researches new products often, and is always open for suggestions.
Friendly environment--children welcome (there is a basket of toys for children of parents who want to linger)--and a regular tarot reader who calls herself Raven (no, not me) and is as fast as she is accurate (often reads the cards before she's even put them down). While the items here tend to be a bit pricey, the quality of both the service and selection make up for it.
Lots more than books here.
All sorts of pagany, occult stuff.
Very interesting indeed.
Get yer voodoo candles here.
i get stuck in there ...cuz it is all new to me
