Econscious has been trying to get off the ground for a while, and they are finally making headway.  To sum it up, you buy something from one of their many sustainable marketplace items and they allow you to chose which organization or business will benefit with 50% of the net profit from your purchase. This fulfills their model that "Giving is the New Getting."

Their store sells eco friendly sustainable products, and even though it is not that sustainable to buy new things or buy anything at all for that matter, they are there for the times when you do make a purchase, and instead of a direct hard profit, they support other up and coming businesses that are seeking out capital.

Their model is a "For-Benefit" transaction that supports communities, not monopolies, or multi-million dollar charities.

* Star one is for the sustainable business idea... People are going to buy anyway, let's help them spend their money wisely

*** I should have thought of that star three is for their affordable gum wrapper and leather bag... I could have enough wrappers for this sucker in a week flat!
**** Sustainable purchases star four is for only selling organic and sustainable items, that make me not only look cool, but look smart... Wha?
***** Let's party it up star five is for the cool events that econscious puts on around town... I went to a fashion show once, where men and women modeled the store's clothes, and it was fun, sexy, and made me want more!
