As much as I hate the City of Chicago's infrastructure, I love the library.  And I love the small and dark Eckhart Park branch.  The library is about as big as my flat, but the librarian is sweet as can be.  Reminds me of home.  I've always had an intimate relationship with librarians - growing up, the first thing my mom would do on the first day of summer vacation is to drop us off at the library to sign us up for the summer reading program.  We spent a good portion of our lives in "the stacks" and I even got my first "job" as computer assistant at the library at the tender age of 10.  (yeah I was a whiz kid, what do you want from me, eh?)

Wax nostalgic aside, I signed up for the adult summer reading program here and I must say I am enjoying my summer of books and the excellent service I get from this hidden library.
