WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!
what does a $5 day usage fee get you in South Lake Tahoe?
all the fun you can stand falling down in the snow!
the sledding hill here on a freshly snow dusted day is phenomenal! get a plastic disc, inner tube, sled, or just a piece of plastic, walk up the hill as high as you dare and let it rip.
you can pick up some good speed and a little air as you skim the top of the fresh powder. just watch out for kids and clueless adults at the bottom of the hill. oh yeah, there is a small group of trees that you should try to avoid too. i saw a couple of fellow thrill seekers have a minor crash with these trees and luckily the only puncture wound was to the inner tube.
yup! pop went THAT weasel!
really a barrel of fun to be had here though.
WARNING: beware of heartless storm trooper CHP goons roaming the parking lot passing out violations.
pay that $5 day usage permit and plaster it on your left dash of your vehicle or expect to find a $75 fine upon your return.
Capacity 100 cars in this parking lot.
limted food and drinks sold. BYOB.
inner tubes sold not rented at the concession.
$20 and up already inflated.

This place has been privatized and is no longer a SnoPark. The prices have gone up and there is now almost no legal public parking on top of Echo Summit during the winter.
