The service was great and the rooms were clean.  We went right when they started to open, so it reeked of Pine-Sol.  I'd rather have that than some strange odor, though.

I loved that they have a computerized system, and they actually have the songs I wanted to sing, which is rare.  They even have a couple of Rockband songs!!  Once you get used to their system, it's quite easy to search for songs both in the Cantonese/Hong Kong and English/Foreign sections.

With a wider selection of drinks, the service is immediate.  I would definitely go back again.

English and Japanese songs were not that great and it smelled really bad.  I smelled of stale cigarette smoke even though none of us were smoking. would really like to only give it 2.5 starts.

The kids I saw hanging out there were really rude, loud and disrespectful.

Hrm. While I can only honestly give this place 3 stars, I will say it probably tops my list of South Bay KTV spots - this may be a taken as a statement on the state of KTV in the South Bay. Personally, I think it holds up well against the many noraebang in Santa Clara but that's because I sing a lot of Mandarin songs. The song selection in other languages is rather sketchy, though. And they don't hold a candle to places like Cashbox in Taipei, where I cut my teeth on karaoke during Loveboat.

I've never been this angry at a Karaoke place before. People who know me know how much I enjoy singing and how much I adore KTV. It's really not that easy for me to get upset at a Karaoke place.

I just came home from there, right now is October 31st, Halloween night, 2007. My bf and I were there for an hour and 5 minutes from 8:45pm to 9:50pm. As an experienced karaoke customer, I always check my watch when checking in, so I always know exactly how long I am in there. Apparently, I was not "experienced" enough for a young guy at the counter who wanted to overcharge me on purpose.

A young Chinese guy was working there, and I noticed his unfriendliness right away when I walked in. I don't know if it had anything to do my my white bf since I know some Asian guys seem to have problems with that... but the way he looked at us was just... not nice. I was excited about my singing session so I just ignored him anyway. Plus it's not the first time I've experienced that kind of look from some immature Asian young punks.

After an hour and 5 minutes, we came out and I was ready to pay. It's $24/hr there and he said my bill was $32. I told him that didn't sound right since we came in at 8:45. He started arguing with me that I came in at 8:35 instead of 8:45. He made it very clear that I had to pay up $32. I was stunned and pissed... especially with his young punk ignorant attitude, but I didn't want to waste my time arguing with him over the extra $8. I just paid the freaking $32 and left. Now when I am thinking about it, I feel that I should have stood my ground and asked for the manager. It just feels awful when you know you just got screwed by someone who purposely wanted to screw you over.

I've been a very loyal customer of Echo since it's very close to where I live, and the pricing is very reasonable. Today is the first time that I had such a bad experience with their service. I hate to give them one star simply because of what happened tonight but I just can't help it.

Very modern - I LIKE !! great service... The sound system is wonderful and it's more spacious than many other places !! On top of that you can order buckets of beer !! This place should be a role model for all them other karaoke places out there. 5 Stars cuz by far this is the best karaoke place in the bay !!

Pros: Good selection of Chinese songs. Serving Beers.
Cons: Lack of English and Japanese songs. Stereo systems are not good enough to make your vocal voice sounds better.  Rooms are pretty dirty and stink caused by people smoking and drinking.  Restrooms are disgusting.  Sound insulation between rooms are bad, so you can easily hear people singing in the next room so loud. This place looks cheap since there is not much of decoration and using IKEA furnitures, and alcholic drinks are over-priced.

This place is not recommended unless you like to drink, smoke in their tiny rooms, and sing only Chinese songs.

This is a HK style karaoke place that is often packed to the rafters on Friday and Saturday nights, but it is not unusual to find the parking lot almost full on weeknights as well. Most of the patrons are either HK or Taiwanese, so obviously the majority of the songs are in Chinese. However, they do carry a good selection of English music for the ABC's and non-Chinese clientele.

In HK KTV's, as they are called, the private parties are separated into different rooms, as opposed to the big stages in the American style karaoke. This makes for a more intimate group setting, which I find to be more enjoyable. Performing in front of the masses can be quite a daunting task, but in the presence of your own friends, it is easier to loosen up, and just let yourself go.

Parking is ample and well lit, which comes in handy, since Echo is open late every night of the week (until at least 1 am even on weeknights), so if you ever have the urge to sing your heart out, this is your spot. Perhaps you can make a fun evening by first going to Karts 'n Golf (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) right next door before dropping by!

this place is pretty dirty (rooms and restrooms) and the selection of english songs are really lacking.  it's $55 per hour for the room and for a 6pack of beer it's like $20! (straight rip off when there's a liquor store two stores down).  the AC is blasting so the rooms are really cold too.

i would not recommend this place at all.

I went to this place both days on Christmas day and New Year Eve.   My god.. lots of people.. really packed.   They have beer promotion and lots of new Chinese songs.  Their Chinese songs are so updated; I just learned some songs from a new CD I bought last week, and they already have those songs made in karaoke.  AWESOME!!

The place isn't as dirty as I thought after reading previous review.
