Even though this course is slightly longer and more challenging than Altadena GC, Eaton Canyon just doesn't do it for me.  (Not sure why.)

The staff, from my experience, seems friendly.  I love the fact that it's a grass range but it's uphill.  I do not enjoy ranges that are uphill.

It's a bargain playing twilight here on weekdays and a mega bargain for super twilight at $6.50.  But I don't know what it is about this place that makes me prefer Altadena.  It's a more laidback vibe at Altadena perhaps...?

I know this review is really helpful but I suppose you should try it here for yourself.  I can only speak for myself.

This is one of my favorite courses to play.

It's a quick 9 hole par 35. Twilight starts around 2 or 3 depending on the time of year, so you can get in for $13. It's got some terrain, which is why I prefer it over the Altadena GC. Makes it more interesting for me to be hitting over and around stuff. Not that I'm great at the game, I shoot in the high 90s typically.

Friendly staff, and standard practice facilities, (grass range, putting and chipping areas).

I like getting in as twilight starts on the weekend and can walk the course. It seems to slow down around the par 3 #3 hole, but this is a slow relaxing game and I can get all 9 holes in on a sunday and still have time for typical weekend errands.

Eaton Canyon has some very interesting holes, but unfortunately the course is not designed to be a refuge from the noise and traffic on Sierra Madre Villa.  4 out of 9 holes are located along a roadway, with 3 directly beside a major intersection.  It's hard to concentrate on your tee shot with honking and screeching going on in the background.  The course would work much better laid out like Altadena GC, where most of the holes are buffered from the roads by other holes, practice areas, and maintenance facilities.

That said, the staff here are very nice, and the driving range is grass and well maintained.  Maybe on a weekday morning it's quieter, but it's just hard to justify it over Altadena.

Fun 9 hole executive course.  Easy to walk, not too challenging, but good enough to use most clubs in your set.  All parts of the course are pretty good.  Rough is plentyful and most fairways are lined with trees.  Nothing special, but a good place to work on your game.  Most people walk and pace is pretty decent.

Scenic, 9 hole course and always fun. A bit more hilly than Altadena GC and little more challenging. Always pretty easy to get out and play, even without a reservation. During the summer, I leave the office around 4:00 PM when it's quiet and get out for a quick 9 hole round on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. I can walk and get some exercise and some mid-week golf in also ! Staff are polite and the environment is pretty nice at this course.

I like playing here when I feel I need a challenge.  It is harder to play here than sister course, Altadena golf course.  There are a few carries over flood control channels on some of the holes.  On hole #4, you are hitting down to the green.  Your drives can really roll on this hole. But don't try to play hole #4 when there is float viewing on January 1 or 2.  The course management shortens this hole to prevent you from hitting your drives to the street where this is float viewing.

Some of the fairways are not flat.  You have shots above or below your feet.  Course is about 2900 yards.   A little longer than executive course.  They have grass teeing area.

Driving range is fun to play.  Like Altadena golf course, there is an old pickup truck where you can try to hit some of your drives.
