This isn't the best pizza in portland, but to be fair they've got some solid competition, and they certainly ain't bad, especially for the oh-so-reasonable price. Eat Pizza's pies a great choice if you're in the locale - you can a nice manageable little personal pizza, made however you want, and they're open until midnight.
Sitting space is pretty limited due to the cool triangular space they're set up in; I've managed to successfully stuff the place with a big group of friends on several occasions, and I think that's part of the fun. Great place to hit up for after-bar-snacking, or to stop in for a quick lunch during the day. -

I was super stoked to find a restaurant that has both gluten free and vegan options... it's somewhat of a rarity since many gluten free items use eggs as the binding agent and many vegan items use gluten as the binding agent.
My friend ordered a vegan mediterranean pizza on a regular crust and it was okay. While I'm generally pretty open minded with most food, I'm really not too open to non tomato based pizza sauces. Italian authenticity be damned, give me my tomato sauce and loads of some cheese-lize substance on my pizza! "Missing" (okay, it was a olive oil/balsamic base) pizza sauce aside, the crust was a little too gooey/undercooked on the inside for my liking.
The next day, we actually ordered a build it yourself gluten free, vegan pizza with tomato sauce, daiya "cheese" (it melts beautifully), and an array of veggies. THIS pizza was delicious! I actually prefer the taste of the gluten free crust to the regular- it was crisper and heartier. That, and, you know, I don't have to deal with allergy type symptoms after eating it, so that's a plus. The veggies tasted fresh and the tomato sauce had a nice, mildly spiced taste to it.
As noted in other reviews, their pizza arrives hot, so that's a definite plus. -

Eat Pizza is a great little local pizza joint, shoved into an adorable triangular building and staffed by friendly dudes. I haven't yet had a pizza I didn't like (although one time they left a few ingredients off on accident--oops! Happens to the best of us). Even the plain cheese pizza is amazing. Gluten-free options abound. Although I like to gluten away, it's great to have an option when I hang out with my gluten-free friends who usually can't do pizza. The sides are fine, your basic pizza joint appetizers. I haven't had their salads or sandwiches yet. Oh! And they're open until midnight! This alone makes this place stand out on those late evenings when I don't feel like eating bar food or Taco Bell (okay, so every night).

Stopped by Eat Pizza on July 4th since I was nearby and had a Groupon I needed to use.
First of all, the place is tiny with only a few small inside tables and a couple counters with barstools. It's definitely one of those places that is better for take-out or delivery and absolutely not good for groups. Also, there is no AC, so the summer heat, mixed with the heat of the ovens and the small space made the place very warm bordering on uncomfortable. There are several tables outside, but they are directly in the sun in the afternoon / evening and would be much more inviting if they had umbrellas to provide shade. (I actually saw a couple with food from Eat Pizza! that they had gotten "to-go" and then went across the street to the post office lawn to sit in the shade to eat.)
So about the food. Their menu is good with several really good sounding combos and their make your own pizza is based on size only with unlimited toppings. That's a huge win! I got a make your own combo, a casalinga, and the garlic knots.
Combo pizza: good crust, decent sauce, adequate toppings. Not the best I have had, but a solid 4 star pizza.
Casalinga: once again, good crust, decent sauce. It's like a grown up version of the school cafeteria cheese pizza square that most of us loved as kids...in a good way.
Garlic knots: SKIP THESE. The first one was good when it was hot out of the oven. As they cooled, they morphed from "garlic knots" to hockey pucks. Even worse, one of them had a nice, long, dark colored HAIR baked into it! Gross!
Summary: Since the place is kind of dive-ish, I would have no issues walking in to grab a decent pizza while a bit stinky after a long hike or bike ride in Forest Park. However, this is not a place I would go out of my way to go. WIthout the hair in the garlic knot incident, this place is a solid 3 stars. -

I wanted to try the gluten free pizza, so I ordered the Mediterranean with the gluten free crust. It was on the expensive side, so I was hoping for something good, which includes Sunday am cold pizza left overs.
I have to say, it was pretty good. The toppings are great (feta, red peppers, black olives, etc), but I was craving more sauce (well, actually, some sauce). The crust was thin and crispy, and pretty tasty as well.
I was impressed at the fact the pizza came hot on delivery.
They have nice options for pizza types, so I will order again. I wish they made their garlic bread or garlic knots gluten free. I am betting they would be awesome. I am not sure about cross contamination issues, so you are a very sensitive, this may not be the place for you.Listed in: Gluten Free Yumminess

I was visiting Portland and doing the brewery scene when I got a hankering for pizza (surprise, I know). I found this place on Yelp, and boy am I glad I did.
First, this is one of those small point-shaped stores, which I love. Second, the guy there (owner? manager?) was incredibly friendly, as we chatted about Portland and the beer scene. They only have room for three taps, but they're all awesome and unique. In fact, he gave me a taste of one that he said I just had to try. We got talking some more and I mentioned that I was going to Astoria. Well he knew someone that worked at the brewery there, and she had given him a card good for a free pint. He wasn't going to be visiting up there anytime soon, so he ran out to get it from his car (in the rain) and gave it to me. Incredible!
Oh yeah, and the pizza was delicious :) And I was impressed with how reasonable it was. Everywhere else wanted me to buy a 13" pizza for like $20, but this place has individual-sized pizzas for $5.99! And any place that has salami as a topping for pizza gets my attention.
Neat little atmosphere, GREAT service, and awesome food...all for a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Portland. -

It's convenient and fast and not a bad pie. it's nice when you are starving and need something quick. i love the weird building. The crust is crunchy and tasty, the sauce is so so and the topping -all you can pile on for one price is kind of bad ass.
it's an ok pie, is there better? of course, but it's good. I think i'll ask for it well done next time. The convection ovens are pretty bad ass as well.Listed in: shots shots shots!!

I went here for the first time last week after seeing pictures of their vegan pizzas on tumblr. Looking at the pictures was great but eating the pizza was amazing! They don't skimp on the vegan cheese and the "all the toppings you can eat," is pretty rad. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I like the smallness and the view of burnside is nice to watch.

STOP here and EAT PIZZA!
Do not pass go.
Do not collect $200. *Actually, if you are presented with an opportunity to collect $200, please do, then befriend me and tell me where I can get in on that!
We redeemed a special offer Eat Pizza had on Yelp, which was "mention you saw us on yelp and get a mini pizza free". The guy at the counter seemed reluctant until I pulled out the iPad and showed the offer to him. Thank goodness I had my iPad and thanks Yelp, because one of our mini pizzas was free.
For this review I want to focus on the HOT STIX. Eat Pizza describes them as "Spicy breadstick brushed with Frank's Red Hot and served with bleu cheese dressing."
These were (all caps) YUM-AZING! I can best describe the experience as eating hot wings (without the wings).
-Spicy.
-Tart.
-Crispy.
-Chewy.
-Delicious.
The breadsticks were spicy & tart, crisp on the outside & chewy on the inside. We dipped and double-dipped in the accompanying side of bleu cheese dressing.
I don't know if I'm saying this because when I became a vegetarian I really missed hot wings, but I'm saying it anyway, "This is one of my favorite things I've ever eaten." -

Good.
Puffier crust pizza with quality, unlimited toppings. The individual pizza for 7 bux is really filling.
Service was slow to start but the guys brought it around at the end. Coupla a dirty tables even though it wasn't busy brought me down to 4 stars.
Also, good auto mags to read for any car buffs out there. -

Delicious! This may be my favorite pizza place in town. I love the build your own pizza option, complete with different base sauces and cheeses. The gourmet Roma (garlic-infused olive oil, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and Montrachet cheese) is amazingly good! They also offer the option of vegan cheese and gluten-free crust, which is a nice option.
I still think "Eat Pizza" is a strange name for a restaurant, but for pizza this good, I can't complain. -

I have to say that when I read the "vegan options" sign outside of Eat, I was skeptical that it would be any good. I was pleasantly surprised when I got my mini pizza. As many toppings as I want and no extra charge? Yes. Vegan cheese? Yes (and they don't skimp on it either). As far as vegan za in this city goes, I would rank this place pretty high up. It seems like their vegan pizza is pretty comparable to their non-vegan pizza, which I appreciate. I will definitely come here again.

My favorite pizza place in Portland. Aside from the fact that it's delicious, here are some reasons it's excellent:
-Cheap. 6 bucks for a mini with unlimited toppings!
-They have punch cards. And they punch the crap out of 'em, I'd say about every 3rd or 4th pizza is free.
-Beer selection. They only have 3 taps, but they change them up frequently and all 3 are usually great.
-All the counter guys are cool.
The only downside is that the giant soda fountain totally kills the interior aesthetics of the place. You'll see what I mean when you go there. -

We stopped here for dinner before going to Cinema 21 for a movie and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious pizza. The Milano was really fantastic and we would definitely come here for pizza again. We also ordered the garlic knots and WOW...I can't recommend those highly enough! YUM! Also, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our pizza was ready. Ten minutes after ordering, our pizza was on the table.
The place is quite small. There's room for less than a dozen people to sit down and eat in. This is probably best as a take-out place. Also, since the seating area is all windows, it is quite cold there in the winter. They do have some outdoor seating, I noticed, so that would probably be pleasant on a spring evening. -

Design your own pizza... unlimited toppings!???! Whhhat!?
I rattled off the first 15 or so cheeses and toppings that came to mind for my personalized pizza... A little bit later my dream pie was served to me. Hot, crispy, but with a gooey freshly baked inside. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Ever. Hole in the wall, but delicious down and dirty pizza. -

Me- "Do you guys do slices?"
The dude behind the counter- "No man, we do mini pizza."
Me- "Ok, cool. I was kinda just looking for a slice. Thanks."
The dude behind the counter- "That's cool. Here is a free pizza coupon so you can try us out sometime."
Me- "Thanks." (Silently to myself, "hmm, that was classy.")
I redeemed said coupon last night along with purchasing another mini. The crust is that soft chewy kind that is really good. I believe that because of the type of pizza crust it doesn't hold heat well, because by the time I got home (fourish blocks) it was cooling down. By the time I had gotten to eating the last slice it was a little tepid. That being said it was very good overall. I think next time I will try the casalinga with a few tall PBRs that I saw in fridge, and enjoy a table while people watching Burnside. -

This pizza is really good.
My boyfriend and I were craving pizza in spirit of the ducks game. We trekked down 20 blocks in 25 degree weather for eat pizza. it was well worth it. great buffalo wings, so-so mini carne pizza, and free cheese sticks! just enough for the both of us, and under $15!
Don't fret over asking for free cheese bread after checking in on yelp, its so simple, and the guys are super nice. -

I really enjoy Eat Pizza. I hadn't been in since their opening, but stopped back in today and kicked myself for staying away so long.
It's a SMALL shop (emphasize SMALL) located on the corner of sw burnside and 20th and is a family run business. There's an ambitious young couple (with a new baby, I hear) and a brother all making and delivering pizzas and working hard.
They have these wicked cool superconvection ovens that cook the pizzas evenly and quickly. The ovens are also small, which allows them to have several ovens in a small spot, you don't wait long.
The prices are really, really reasonable. I mean, you're likely to spend more money on an unbaked pizza at papa johns or whole foods than a delicious, piping hot pizza at Eat Pizza. To sweeten the pot, Eat Pizza doesn't charge for toppings and allows UNLIMITED TOPPINGS!!
UNLIMITED TOPPINGS!
I LOVE IT!
As I said, they have a limited, but surprisingly large, delivery area, they're super friendly, hard working, honest folks, they make a damn fine pizza and offer a more than fair value.
Now that I'm working in the neighborhood again, I'll be back more often. -

I'll put it out there. I don't like much Portland pizza.
I know there are a few good places, but they are usually more expensive, like Dove Vivi or Apizza. ALL the other pizza I've had here has been so crappy that I feel like the PDX pizza palatte is trapped in some non-ethnic flavor void of 1966. Sometimes you just want a simple pizza without all the gourmet fussiness.
Eat is better. Definitely better. It has flavors. And you can get small individual pizzas for about $5 with limitless toppings. I would definitely go with the individual pizzas, not the big ones, it's a better value. -

It was a dark and stormy night.
The pizza delivery places were closed.
We felt alone.
We felt desperate.
We felt hungry.
Then, a light in the darkness!
Lo! What late-night pizzeria has trusty Google revealed? An enigmatic little gem called "Eat Pizza."
It was the best pizza ever.
Now, Eat Pizza is not a gourmet pizza place. It is good, solid pizza, but there is "better" pizza out there. What makes Eat Pizza awesome is how the business is run: the fact that they and only they were open on that dark night some many nights ago, the fact that their website is EatPizzaPortland dot com, that fact the last four digits of their phone number spell FOOD, and the fact that every time we order a pizza the next week we get a postcard in the mail with an offer for free garlic knots or hot sticks. Often the note is signed by the owners.
It's not advertising--it's a service. When we're sitting around asking the eternal question--what should we eat for dinner tonight?--that little postcard will pop into our field of vision and the answer will become instantly clear. Then we are left with more brain cells to devote to other decisions, like what kind of beer to buy, and more time to devote to important things, like surfing the net for the news and....lolcats.

Lemme squeeze out my 1 nitpick before I get into the power and the beauty that is Eat Pizza: no slices. If they did, this place might be six stars though, so I'll cut 'em some slack - and check how that handled it below
My first run though, I literally only had time to grab a slice and go, so when I stopped by, I was crestfallen when I got the bad news. So the guy behind the bar - maybe the owner, maybe just a cool guy gives me a ticket for a FREE PIZZA w UNLIMITED TOPPINGS.
yeah, free...he went there
So I go by 2 weekends ago, and get a sausage, peperoni, green pepper and mushroom (I mean, it's free right?) . True to their word, it did not cost a red cent. Not only that, but they let me use it as part of the 'special' so I received a drink and salad for 3 bucks.
Then I get the bestest of best news (holy grammar batman!):
You can pick your cheeses: mozzarella, ricotta, feta, Gorgonzola Montrachet, cheddar - I mean, this things is yours to make or break
"pimp my pizza"
So the food comes. The Roni is mouthwatering - crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Veggies are fresh, and the mini pizza was not overloaded, so the crust held up. I got Mozzarella, and Montrachet (which I highly recommend).
The salad has more than iceberg lettuce! Cucumber, carrot, cherry tomato and the 'good' balsamic vinaigrette (thick, not watery). And the diet coke was vat size (nice because it was hot, and I am a big drinker).
Top it all off with the fact that they deliver, and I'll be eating here again! -
Review from Akemi I.
We got pies and Caesar Salad a couple of times here for lunch at work. It is a little more expensive than Bellagio's, but they have great pizza topping combinations!
I think the favorite so far has been the Chicken Cordon Bleu - cream cheese with chicken and ham. Yum! I was unsure how the cream cheese would work as a sauce... it was amazing!
The salad is overpriced, in my opinion, because it is just lettuce and croutons. The dressing is a nice creamy Caesar.
The garlic knots are extremely garlicky! Our fridge still (a week later) smells a little of garlic after storing the leftovers for only a couple hours. They were super yummy, but I wouldn't recommend breathing in anyone's face after eating them.
Delivery is quick and the driver (also owner) was very friendly. Ordering over the phone was great as they are quite helpful and patient in answering questions. They are also very cool about accommodating half-half pizza requests even if the sauce is different. I love that in a pizzeria!
You can print out coupons online and I am signing up for their online Eater club/email newsletter. It's exciting! I'm totally looking forward to that "Eater party" invite!
I also can't wait to try other pizza flavors and the sandwiches!Listed in: Lunch!

Eat Pizza is amazing. Why? Because the first time I ate there my friend called me to say we "were going to go to Eat Pizza."
"Sweet, I love pizza. Where are we going?"
"Eat Pizza."
"Yes I understand that is what we will be eating, I'm asking at what location."
"Eat Pizza."
And so the conversation continued. Anyhoo the pizza is awesome. You can get any combination of toppings that you want and they have some of the best ingredients. But while the pizza is good (and it REALLY is good) the knots are what the best part is. Garlic and Cinnamon little bread chunks of doughiness deliciousness.
PLUS; all the people that work there are awesome.
The single slight complaint, they don't actually have a pizza oven, but that is not a reason to go there! -

I'm hooked! I've had delivery twice, and an individual pizza take out once.
The pizza alla Casalinga is one of the best pizzas around, truly! Its a rectangular shaped pizza that's very simple with just tomato, garlic, olive oil, fresh basil, fresh oregano, and mozzarella. That's it, but it's wonderful! I added artichoke hearts last time, and it was even better. Perfect!
My friends have really enjoyed the chicken cordon blue pizza. It's a white sauce with ham and chicken, and smelled wonderful as well. I ordered the buffalo chicken individual size one time. It was OK, but I don't know if I would get it again. The carne pizza was loaded down with all kinds of meat toppings, and looked fantastic. Everyone has loved the pizza each time I've ordered, and want more.
They offer many creative gourmet combinations on their menu, as well as the classics. There should be something for everybody.
They always have deals on their website, and they take http://restaurant.com certificates also, which is a huge bonus! I need to try the sandwiches. They sound grubbin!
The people that work here are so nice and friendly. Just a pleasure to do business with.
Try it!Listed in: Yup, they deliver!

What an innovative way to run a pizza joint: price is based on size alone. Get as many toppings as you want, build your pizza any way you want, and it will cost the same.
It's located in a great old building with an odd shape that's very noticeable when driving down Burnside. And it was recommended to us by the bartender at Ella Street Social Club, where we went to see The Lower 48 and A Leaf.
The mini pizza, which costs 6 dollars, was enough food for the BF and me. We chose pesto for the sauce, mozzarella for the cheese, and BBQ chicken, caramelized onions, spinach, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and mushrooms for the toppings. Wow. Can't believe we got all that for 6 dollars, and it was scrumptious.
The pizza man was superbly friendly, walked us through all the options, then gave us two sodas on the house while we waited. The pizza baked in no time because it was small. We were thoroughly impressed.
If and when we do live in Portland, we'll have to try very hard not to get fat from eating here all the time! -

Every time I venture into Stumptown I must make the trek up Burnside to the very cool triangular shaped building. And inside that mini flatiron bldg none other than Eat Pizza. I live close by and never knew this place existed, probably because the nearby Tribute's and Pizza Oasis restaurants have settled in as established local pizza eateries, but I was greatly surprised by Eat Pizza. I love that it's situated at the corner very narrow intersection and the windows create a small nook that gets lots of light.
I got the Meat and Greet: caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, salami, pepperoni and ham. It was great and the mini size is ideal for one person ($5.99). The crust was perfectly crispy -- not too soft or too cardboard-like.
For $2 more you can add a soda and choice of side to your mini. I really should have gotten the salad instead of the garlic balls. My garlic balls were too filling. I was surprised by the size of my garlic balls. A mint should have been served with my garlic balls.
So I got a lot of food for $7.99 and my vegetarian companion said her salad was really good. The veggies were fresh and crispy and she piled some of the salad on top of her tasty white pizza.
They deliver, so grab one of their menus or free magnets. I'm going to keep them in mind, for sure!Listed in: Pizza Pie in Your Eye

This place is good solid lunch fare. Pizza, sandwiches and pasta, all available to go, and all solidly good. Actually, the sandwiches are better than solidly good, they warm my heart while simultaneously filling my belly.
Friendly staff gets the thumbs up, and be sure to ask for your frequent eater punch card. -
Review from Laura N.
The friendly staff and quick service earned all three stars for this pizza place. But frankly, the pizza tasted like college. Literally - in just one bite I was back in my Freshmen dorm room, fully engaged in achieving those freshmen-15 that we spend the rest of our lives "working off".
The grease-drenched crust was disappointingly dry, and the sauce was nothing to write home about. Before living in Portland this would have been dubbed "great pizza" but after sampling some of the competition, I don't think this pizza was worth the hour I spent at the gym this morning.
Maybe I should give it an extra star for the time travel feature... -

Mad. Good. Pizza. Seriously.
The prices are great. The soda is free (read: doesn't cost you money). They serve beer.
I wish I knew about this place earlier, I would've eaten there for lunch dinner and breakfast (if they were open). The pizza is made with fresh ingredients, had a lot of flavor, and I didn't even need to put red pepper or basil or garlic on there. It was just GOOD.

These guys are amazing. I have been coming here basically since they opened. In fact they keep a pizza on their "how to make this pizza" list just for me.
It is called the Bruchetta and it has a garlic olive oil base, with basil, onions, tomatoes and mozzarella on it ( I also add mushrooms). You should try it too! We always get the Hot Sticks as well which are like pizza dough with hot sauce on them. I like to think of them as vegetarian hot wings and I prefer them with ranch rather then blue cheese. I have friends from out of town that ate here a year ago and still crave Hot Sticks...so delicious. They also offer unlimited toppings which is something you don't really see anywhere else.
We have seen a lot of pizza guys come and go but Ollie makes the best pizza and has been there since the beginning. At one point we were going to make him a master pizza-smith award...but decided against it.
The owner is often there and he is really friendly, he might even be the one delivering your pizza. He always makes it a point to say "Hello" to us when he comes in , which I appreciate.
Really the only downside to Eat Pizza is the delivery time, we live two blocks away (and probably shouldn't be getting pizza delivered anyway), if we call in an order it is about 45 minutes to 1 hour before our pizza arrives, if we go get pizza it is about 15 minutes. So if you live close I recommend eating there for optimum deliciousness in much less time. -

I added a photo of the Eat Pizza! "wedge" as it appeared in the mid 1990's as Muddy Water.
That tiny little triangle corner was leasing for $1,200 per month shortly after that, when new owners converted it into a Tommy's, which became Tammy's for a short time; then the Daily Double; and now Eat Pizza!
It's a cool space, you can sit there like you're in a spaceship that just landed in the middle of Burnside; watching the never ending parade of Fred Meyer shoppers as cars swoosh by not more than six feet away from where you're sitting. But it's also a very small space; you have to be under 5'2" and 100 lbs to feel comfortable.
When Eat Pizza! first opened, the very chatty husband & wife owners were running it. They've now expanded and hired some employees.
I bought three pizzas here.... I think I gave them a fair chance. I recall reading an interview in one of the local papers (Willamette Week or the Mercury or Examiner) where the owner said he'd learned to make pizza while working at Sbarro, which is an Italian-ish fast food chain. So. Maybe they've changed their recipe since then; but the three pizzas I had were equivalent to Freschetta and DiGiorno. -

I'm what you may call a pizza junkie, I could eat it seven days a week, two meals a day, but by no means am I a pizza snob. Thus Eat Pizza falls into the good, not great, but gets the job done, pizza category for me. If you're a gourmet pizza kind of person you won't love the average thin crust and greasy pepperoni you are served at Eat Pizza, but if you're just looking for some fast convenient pizza in the NW area, you found it.
We'll go with the good news first:
*From my apartment it takes a mere 1/2 block walk to reach the door of eat pizza!
*Fred Meyer nearly always has Eat Pizza coupons on the back of their receipts, 2 for 1 deals or a large for 11.99!
*The staff has always been nice and our pizza is always ready in the blink of an eye. From oven to tummy in less than five minutes :)
And here's the bad news:
*The pizza is often greasy. Only once was it extremely greasy, but some grease blotching is always required. Have extra napkins handy.
*Without the coupons, it is over priced for what you get.
So don't load up the car with all your best friends and drive across town for this stuff (only about three of your friends will even fit in the tiny restaurant with you anyway), but if you're in the neighborhood and happen to have a coupon handy, stop in. It's the cheap chain pizza in the downtown area where there is no cheap chain pizza. Nothing to right home about but nothing to snub your nose at. -

I KNOW the name of this place is "Eat Pizza", however I would like to recommend their sandwiches over the pizza. The pizza is decent, but nothing to write home about. The sandwiches have occasionally made me cry a tiny tear of joy.
The staff is friendly and service is quick which makes this a lunchtime staple for my office. We eat a lot of the unlimited topping "mini" pizzas. Quite a deal if you are a topping fiend.
