I am inclined to give no stars but yelp forces us to give them something. Horrible service and representatives who have no clue of what is going on. Seriously just take a different service to where you need to go.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Unless there is some high end buses that other companies use nowadays, this is your standard coach bus. The wifi is spotty, but useable for spotify and quick searches.

Electric outlet is located under the seat. Will use again.

These people are so unprofessional! Upon cancelling a 1:30 am trip from RICHMOND VA on a Friday morning and disembarking all passengers --stranding them ad there was no city bus service that time of the morning.
My relative realized all future trip times were bit convenient and some already overbooked--we sought a complete refund for the round trip ticket
Phone calls were going back and forth all weekend with operators and managers not knowing what to do. I specifically requested a refund.
6 days later I get a email requesting a copy of the trip boarding pass for the VA bus. Of course it could it could not be found by my relative any more.
Now they are refusing my 60 buck refund.
Oh, shit is going down! I'm running NOT walking to the civil court system to file a complaint.
How dare they treat their passengers like this!
My advice----spend a few dollars more and go to a more professionals run bus company. And delete that GO-TO BUS app off your phone! A waste of time.

      THEIVES.....SCAMMERS....SHAME ON YOU!

Booked a return ticket from NYC to Balitmore through Gotobus.com and ended up with these guys.

We missed our initial bus at 7.30am, completely our own fault. So I rang the customer service number given and got through to someone who answered "Hello" the first time I called and didnt say anything the second time, again no biggie. The woman on the other end of the phone was barely comprehensible and extremely rude and unhelpful when I could understand her. She told me that I could not book another bus as they where all booked out. I went online on my phone and saw that there was availability on all the next 3 buses to Baltimore. So I spoke to the driver, explained the situation and he charged me 5 dollars each for 2 tickets, Im not sure why but I was happy to pay it. He added some sound advice that "I should not be late".....

The wireless on the bus is restricted, so no Netflix, the power sockets didnt work and the toilets where and absolute disgrace. The trip was advertised as three hours but almost 4.

The return trip was late... so its seems he was happy to dish out the advice but not pay heed to it. The driver was extremely rude and unhelpful, he refused to leave the aircon on, it had been 35 degrees that day and it was extremely uncomfortable on the bus. Seats where horrible, and Im quiet a small guy.

Just an awful experience, Id rather walk to Baltimore next time...

I feel like giving a star is being generous. Review from a customer going from dc to nyc

      1. I was given an address on my ticket that was not the exact address so I nearly missed my bus even though I was there 45 min early.

      2. It's not assigned seating, so if you have a buddy you can kiss them goodbye for the trip unless your the first on.

      3. The bus is clean but very cramped. If your 6 foot or over, sit in the Isle or your going to be in and in a contorted position the whole time. The seats are not terribly comfortable and hard to sleep in.

      4. They lied about the express. We spent 20 minutes picking up people in Baltimore and picked up traffic bc of it.

      5. They lied about outlets and wifi

      6. There was no movie despite having the screens for it

      7. No dimly lit isles so people were tripping trying to get to and from the bathroom.

      In summary- JUST SAY NOOOOOO

      First to Review

I can't add a correct address for this business because they keep giving me the runaround, but 5 Times Square is where the bus to DC picked me up. There are also 2 other potential terminals in NYC. One by 34th st and 7th Ave, and one down in Chinatown itself.

One way tickets are $20, and round trips are $35 (plus an undisclosed service fee, which annoys: just tell me about it, I should know what the fee is before I buy).

Problems started from the moment I tried to buy a round trip ticket online. The computer system charged me for and issued me only a one way ticket. So I called the company, was given another number to call, and talked to a fellow named Alan, who promised me that the charge would be reversed right away, to go ahead and purchase a new round trip ticket, and email him the old ticket number and the new numbers so he could issue the refund. At this time, I also discover the $1 fee per ticket. I don't even bring that up to Alan because I just want my money back from their screwed up computer system.

I'm in a rush to make sure I get down to DC quickly, so I go ahead and do just that, email him, and then call him to confirm he got my email, which he said he did get. Then I'm off, down to beautiful Times Square to catch my bus. The ticket says I need to be there 30 min early to make sure I really do get a seat, so I do that too.

So after waiting 35 min, the bus finally shows up, 5 min after it was supposed to leave. I was able to get a seat with no one next to me, so I wished they hadn't wasted my time, but it was 1pm on a Tuesday, so I am betting that in a higher traveled time, getting there early would be wise, but only if the bus showed up early too. I get to DC in the expected time (about 4.5 hours later), and am happy. So far.

Now it's time to go back. I show up only 10 min before the bus is to leave, since coming in, the 30 min wait didn't serve any purpose. When I get to the pickup location here, there is no bus. Instead, there is a middle aged Chinese man who goes on to yell at me for being "late." He tells me I have to go 3 blocks down the street to get on the bus. He circles on my ticket the place where it says I need to be 30 min early, and rather than argue, I say, "Yeah, next time." As in, "yeah, next time, I'm probably not going to use you if you think yelling at me is OK."

So I go over to the bus, grab a seat (there were plenty) and wait to get going. Fast forward 25 minutes and we finally hit the road. I don't know what we were waiting for, but I'm happy to be on my way back.

Now, one of the main reasons I picked Eastern Travel as opposed to the plethora of other Chinatown NYC - DC busses is that this bus promises FREE WIFI!! But they don't deliver. My computer sees the wifi, gets the signal, but there is no working internet attached to it. One of the other passengers complains to the driver, but not only is he driving, but he doesn't know anything about how to fix it, or how it works. So there really is no free wifi.

OK, so now I can't be online for 5 hours. Not a big deal, just get me home speedily, I have to send an email out. What's that? One of the other passengers doesn't like the bathroom on the bus, and demands that you stop at a rest stop so that she can pee there? So you're going to make an unscheduled stop? Well, I'm actually OK with that. I want to stretch my legs, grab some food, and run back to the bus anyway. It's a good thing I'm not in a rush back, but what if I was? 20 min added to travel time.

OK, now I'm home safe and sound. I see my round trip ticket was charged to my Credit Card. But then, a day later, so was the one way ticket I was told would be removed! OK, time to call Alan back. What, there's no Alan there? Let me make sure I'm calling the right number, there are a couple I have for you. Oh, I was calling the right number. And then, "Well, which website did you order from?"
      Me: "NYDCExpress.com"
Not Alan: "Oh, call [first number I called]. They refund charges."
      OK, so I do that.
Also not Alan at the other number: "We don't give refunds. All sales final."

Me: "Hello, American Express, I need to contest a charge."

I've often thought the only people who write Yelp reviews either LOVE a place or HATE it, and it's so true. I am actually traveling on an Eastern bus right now and had such a HORRIBLE experience I'm sending my review in now.

Not only do the drivers have terrible attitudes, but they are exceptionally rude. For instance, we stopped at a rest stop for 10 mins and after using the restroom and picking up a water/sandwich (12 mins tops!) I come outside to see the bus driving away! I literally start chasing it and the driver sees me and gives me a look of PURE loathing. I ask to be let back on and he reluctantly opens the doors. As he does another woman catches up to me (she too had almost been left). I step on and nicely ask "Sir do you not count how many people are on the bus before leaving?" And he has the nerve to yell at me and say "Woman I said 10 mins! We don't work around your schedule we're leaving now!!" I was completely floored, told him he was absurd and went to my seat.

Seriously don't consider Eastern an option when looking for a bus. Even if you have no other option I'd rather take my chances! Just say NO!

I took a 1-way from DC to NYC on a weekday morning (the 7:30 AM). Bought the ticket via gotobus.com. Since I was kinda nervous about the first-come/first-serve policy, I showed up 45 minutes ahead of time. The bus was already there and waiting for passengers, and it filled up fairly quickly. It was conveniently located near the Chinatown Metro stop. The bus was packed but clean, and we arrived into Midtown at about 11:15 AM. I slept for most of the ride, so I have no complaints about it. There was no obnoxious music or crazy driving or loud movies. My seatmate was on his laptop the whole time. Everyone else was sleeping.

The only thing that wasn't cool was that the bus didn't drop people off in Chinatown, it only stopped in Midtown. The bus driver said that we were told by the ticket taker, before we got on the bus but I guess the ticket guy wasn't so clear about it.

I would take this bus service again, but next time I would verify what stops the bus will make before I board.

I showed up at 1.15 to take the 1.30 bus from Midtown NYC down to DC. There were some guys in neon yellow vests ushering me into a line.

      Pros:
      1. There were spots on the bus
      2. It was only $20
      3. the seats were comfortable, and leaned way back
      4. They played a movie
      5. Bathroom on the bus
      6. Wi-fi

      Cons:
      1. A 15 min stop mid-way, which seems unnecessary given the bathroom
      2. No toilet paper.
      3. Slow wi-fi

Any of these companies would probably do a decent enough job. It's cheap, efficient, and fast. What's to complain about?

My boyfriend and I took this bus service round trip from NYC to DC. Just a quick day trip to go to see the George Lopez comedy show at the Warner Theatre! I like this location because it's in Midtown and closer to Queens. However, it is in Times Square so there is a lot of people traffic! You get what you pay for so don't expect anything fancy! Eastern Travel served it's purpose and got us to DC.

      Here are the pluses:
      -very cheap
-didn't have to rent a car
      -didn't have to drive
      -and we could sleep!
