This place is great. I've never been to such a lavishly decorated diner.  I agree with the previous review, it does seem a little bit over the top. I usually grab a burger and wings from here, it's right on par with the previous east bay diner in Bellmore but the prices are a tad bit more expensive.  I guess its the price you pay for jellyfish light fixtures and digital aquariums...

The food - which is your typical standard diner fare - is great.

But you're seriously not going to care about the food as much as you'll be finding yourself looking around at the decor the entire time you dine there.  It looks like you are on a cruise ship.  Or at a live showing of The Little Mermaid on Crack.   It's a *wee* bit over the top.     Take special note of the digital picture frame aquariums that adorn many of the booths - looks like the Windows Aquarium screen saver!   But without the error messages.  Score!

Diner with excellent decor.

As previously reviewed, this place does indeed have a gorgeous look to it - whoever did the design work really let it all hang out - it is really a gorgeous place from the outside to the smallest details inside.

The food itself was fine - nothing better or worse than you get anywhere else.  Prices seemed average overall- Service was very good but then again we hit it at night when it seemed rather quiet.

Overall it was very good- the place almost screams for you to stop as you are driving by with all of its magnificent neon signage.

Big parking lot around the perimeter.

I tend to agree with the previous review.

The outside of this diner has a very inviting feel to it, and once you walk in - you'll be amazed by the lavish decor. I immediately was drawn to a beatiful free falling waterfall at the entry of the diner. As i examined further there was a large plasma TV hanging on the wall and an aquariam like digital picture frame (with the computerized fish swimming). All signs led me to believe this would be an awesome dining experience.

Once we were seated a gentlemen in a suit presented us with a plate of wings and bread. Now I know most diners don't give you anything, but after seeing the shape of this cuisine, i'd almost prefer that. The chicken looked like something out of a Griswauld's bbq (real tomato ketchup Eddie?). There was nothing appetizing about it at at all. It was the homeade Perdue chicken  all yellowy dumped on a plate. Perhaps if you got this at a friend's house you'd eat it to be polite, but nowhere else. The bread, was nothing special either. For my meal, i decided to go simple...a bacon burger. The burger came back with no bacon. the bun had a thumb print in it as well. Thats not a big deal to me- but to some of you it might be. It was decent, but I'd rather have went to Wendy's.

To me the look of the restaurant is inconsistant with the quality of the food. I know it's just a diner and I can't expect much, but i've had delicious diner food before. This 1 ranks very low on my list.

This is the most magnificent diner I have ever seen. The rock and flower gardens on the outside, the gigantic wave for the sign in the parking lot, the blue waves throughout the restaurant - in the walls, on the ceiling, in the bathrooms... It almost is a work of art, the entire design of the place.

Before you rev up your engines and your minds, let's get to the food.  I was a big fan of the East Bay Diner of old, the one in Bellmore which had the same owners. Something has changed though. Nothing I have had has been especially delicious. The prices are the highest of any diner I have ever been to. My parents love this place, but that just might be because they are getting comfortable in their 60's. I don't get it, once people get old, are they suddenly not attuned to flavor anymore? Why do so many of them get set in their ways going to pasta diners? They are wooed especially by the big portions there - they usually share one dinner and have enough for a couple of meals during the week. The place gets packed, the waiting area looks like the line outside a Benny Goodman concert.

In my experiences, the food was bland, prices are too high, the service didnt care, but the decor is kinda cool. 2 stars.
