I would recommend this course for the driving range. I haven't played the course but I don't believe that I would want to. I looked over the course and it is too challenging for my golf skills. There is a high degree of elevation and the ball wants to follow gravity. If I were a better golfer, I would say that it's worth the challenge.

Wonderful layout with greens in excellent shape. By far one of the best layouts in the triangle. Hilly and plenty of water to keep it interesting. Played with one of my friends who worked at the course a few years ago and he said that is has come a long way in the right direction over the past few years. Challenging par 4's and fun par 5's. The latest 3's help to balance out the course for an average golfer like myself. Only drawback would be the condition of the rough. Quite a few weeds. That's the only drawback of an otherwise 5/5 course!

This course gives you a nice challenge. Forces you to use many different clubs. Lots of hills, hazards, along with the water makes it an interesting challenge (or frustrating, depending on the day!). The course is usually pretty well maintained. The staff is friendly and courteous. The course usually isn't that crowded which is really nice. & It's fairly priced. Enjoy playing here.

I LOST AN SPEAKER!!!!!
I played at his place on Tuesday afternoon we were the last ones of the course and I left my speaker attached to the golf cart, on my way home I realized that I forgot put it back on my car. I called and got the machine, left a message, never got a call back next morning I called 7:30 am and let them know about it, they said they looked and there was no speaker and will text me back when the guy that clean the carts will contact them, made the 45 min RTP there with the same answer, never got back a call neither a text from them, their final answer from them is that it wasn't found and no intention to replace the speaker.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2 - Mike M.Raleigh, NC01Jan 10, 2019
We had two foursomes play on a Tuesday afternoon in January.
The course was in pretty good shape despite recent rains and
it was cart path only. One our guys recently had two major
surgeries and obtained a handicap flag from the pro shop for his
cart. On the 14th hole he was confronted by an obnoxious Eagle Ridge member who berated him for riding his handicapped marked cart on the fairway. This ***hole insisted that despite having a handicapped flag
on the cart that they should still not be riding their cart on the
fairway. Either this member hasn't been schooled on the handicap
flag procedures or is just a jerk. Two of our golfers quit playing for the day after this incident. Our group plays this course regularly during our weekly rotation of different courses in the area and I doubt if we'll be coming back anytime soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott S.Clayton, NC166517Mar 17, 2020
This place has turned into a goat track. Years ago when it was under different ownership it was one of the nicest courses in the area. Now it is full of weeds; washed out fairways; completely bare tee boxes and greens that have weeds growing in them. When the preference is to hit out of the rough than you know the course is in bad shape. There are better courses in the area at cheaper rates to play. I hope they turn it around.

This use to be a great course. Since Fred Smith Company has bought the course it has gone downhill. If you have played any of FSC courses you know what I mean. No starters. No rangers. Minimal upkeep on course and facilities. It is cheap as far as membership goes but you get what you pay for. It is a shame because this course could be one of the best in the area.
Played the course last week. Still in typical Fred Smith Company condition. New Bermuda greens are in trouble. Fairways are terrible. One cart we had did not make it all the way around the course. At least they only charged $35. They know it is bad but don't care.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 2, 2015Previous reviewThis use to be a great course. I hope people read this because coming from a big city where people use yelp as a great source for unfamiliar destinations I was a little worried that this course only had a few credible reviews. Needless to say my dad and I were in Raleigh for the NCAA tournament and we wanted to play golf during the break between games. We searched all over yelp and even asked people where we should play. Someone recommended this course and we made a tee time. Before analyzing this review please know that we didn't expect much being that it's in the end of March and usually courses around this time of year aren't maintained as well.
However, my dad and I were absolutely appalled by the maintenance of this course. We expected brown fairways (Bermuda grass) but not just brown dry dirt in the middle of the fairways. It seems every shot that was down the middle came to rest on sections of the fairways without any grass. It was like hitting off a hardwood floor. Therefore trying to hit an approach shot was useless... The ball just came off the club without any trajectory or feel. Their tee boxes were awful and their greens were slow. Even the rough was just dry land grassless turf.
We were just furious that a great 77 degree day was ruined by a course that wasn't maintained properly over the winter.
Also, for those of you who have never played this course don't expect to have any idea where the creeks, water, or brush is located on the course. There are absolutely zero markings on the scoresheet or on the tee boxes. How are you supposed to know that about 230 yards dead straight there is a small creek that crosses the fairway? How many times did we hit a shot that we THOUGHT was perfect only to find out it came to rest in water or a brush of shrubs and weeds crossing the fairway. It was disastrous. Please PLEASE correct this... Give people some kind of idea what is ahead.
The staff was extremely friendly and the facility itself was nice but the course needs some work. I hope the summer months are much better for you golfers at Eagle Ridge.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - William P.Cary, NC02Aug 8, 2019
I have seen a lot of old reviews and that's what they are old reviews. The golf course now is in really good shape although the fairways are hard and the greens are hard but they are well-manicured and true. F we could get a little rain it would help this. I believe the golf course deserves a current review.i play most ly during the week and the pace of play is usually under 4 hours. But, I do understand how it is frustration if there are no rangers or starters on the weekend.

Absolutely NO rangers. The course is absolute chaos. It is clogged with 5 somes and other very slow groups....it brings new meaning to the golf adage, "While we're young". The groups are rude, do not adhere to golf etiquette and ABSOLUTELY will not let you play through. My husband was a single and they would not let him play through. My Golf-a-Saurus husband hated it...and he's golfed all over the world on some dumpy courses. So, if you think you are gonna get in a few holes during lunch or between meetings...forget it. He says to never take a client there even if it's close to your office.
