Popped in after biz meeting and was better than I expected! Will Recommend but not as good as Feng Shui
Points for:
White chick for the general GAO, nice presentation, above par Hot/Sour soup. Dark tea. Lunch meal for under $7.00.
The bar area was too loud (music) for a 3pm lunch. I opped to eat in restaurant. -

I've been eating at Dynasty for several years since moving to Hopkinton in 2006. While the quality of the food has fluctuated somewhat, I'd rate it as better than average, but not spectacular. I have been reading some of the reviews, and what makes them difficult to understand is that until you know what part of the menu they are focusing on, you can't evaluate the review. To explain what I mean, I will tell a brief story about a co-worker who once said "I hate Chinese food." When I asked her why, she said "I hate fried chicken wings." This is Chinese food? C'mon. Or the folks that order Egg Foo Yung or some other so-called Cantonese dish that I would not even consider remotely tasty. Here's what I would say. Start with something like Hot and Sour Soup--it should be both spicy and sour, with plentiful bits of pork and bamboo shoots. Dynasty's is good, but could be better if it were spicier. Then try a Mandarin dish with some kick to it--Hunan Chicken, Twice Cooked Pork, Kung Pao Chicken. These will be very tasty at Dynasty. Ma La chicken is very good, too. Test the Peking Ravioli. It's not all chicken fingers and boneless spareribs, those are fine, but not a main course to me.
I've had people rave about places like Sabrina Wong's--to me, the only thing they make that is good are the chicken fingers, boneless pork, etc. They cannot make any of the aforementioned entrees, those are tasteless at that restaurant.
So when rating a Chinese place, mention what you ate, and your review will be much more helpful. -

I am amazed at all these positive reviews. This is a low quality Chinese restaurant. I am a frequent attendee because we're too lazy to drive to superior restaurants like Cherry Blossom in Ashland or P.F. Changs in Framingham. If there's one thing Dynasty has going for them its location, location, location. The meat they use is that low quality rubbery type, not the worst I've had but Americanized Chinese places can set the bar pretty low. If you live close by then Dynasty is fine, but if you have other options I recommend you check those out.

Average Americanized Chinese food. Something about this place though.. I just keep coming back for their lunch buffet. I'd say their lunch is better than average and the turnover on the food is high which means fresh food. Not like those other places with 50 choices that have been sitting there for 2 hours. Waitstaff is nice. Their prices are reasonable.

Review from David T.
There are a plethora of Chinese restaurants in my area and quite a few of them are pretty good (for Chinese-American style food). What makes me write about Dynasty is the fact that they are extremely fast with their takeout orders (without compromising quality), especially considering they are a full service restaurant that probably does more dine-in business than takeaway business.
I went in this past Sunday to grab a quick lunch and I was in and out within 10 minutes. I gazed the menu quickly, ordered tangerine beef--well done, and then sat in the lounge to play 2 games of Keno which were not even finished by the time my food came out. This is not a take-out joint but rather a full servcie restaurant so I was surprised at how quickly I was served. I was even more surprised when I got home and tasted the wonderful food. I'm a picky b***h when it comes to meat being cooked thoroughly and this beef was perfectly well done. The tangerine sauce was lovely and had that slight bittersweet taste that fresh citrus zest always provides.
The portions were generous (and came with free soup since it was a lunch special) and well worth the $6.50. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the interior was clean and well kept.
**In/out in only 10 minutes = not enough time to gamble all of my money away at Keno. -

So perhaps I'm a little biased because I literally lived right down the street from this restaurant and so it's ridiculously convenient, but I really did enjoy it!
We all know that there are two levels of Chinese quality, takeout (even if they pose as a restaurant) and non-takeout. Dynasty is definitely a non-takeout Chinese place.
It's oddly inexpensive for Hopkinton (yes I know it's Chinese but even so!) and the food is consistently good!
The waitstaff is very attentive and gives you a moment to breath before pouring more food on your table. Perhaps I'm too use to city Chinese where they try to rush you out as quickly as possible, but I do enjoy when that isn't the case. -

Just had some takeout from the Dynasty, and as always it worth the drive from Upton. I usually call in take out on my way home from work and pick it up when I get off 495 but Today I was off and had a dynasty craving. Its so so so much better than any of the other Chinese restaurants in the area. My favorite are the boneless pork ribs because they are not all fatty like you get at most Chinese restaurants. The only thing that would make it better would be if they delivered.

So apart from all those people who rated this high and pretty much are locals and lets be honest dont know any better. im going to have to break the bubble and just be real.
it is simply a regular american fast food chinese place. nothing special nothing terrible. food is so/so and the sushi is what it is (dont order it if your a serious sushi person aka non california roll person)
decor is clean and service is good.
food is priced in the same ballpark as you normally would expect but...comparable to boston prices which is kinda odd since it is in the burbs.
ive been to a couple of other places around this area and this one by far is the most comparable to a late night delivery/takeout place in the city.
it does have a bar which serves pretty cheap drinks but looks kinda of like a regular white room where there happens to be a fully enclosed bar in the middle.
i honestly dont know why people have given it 5 stars....but then i look at their reviews and their all from this area soooo if you are from this area i guess you will love it, if not dont go with high expectations :P -

One of my favorites in the area. Just remodeled. Food is always fresh and good, but it is pretty much the "standard American" version of chinese food. Nothing too fancy but always good and reasonably priced.

I wanted to check this place out since I've seen it so many times and like the reviews here.
We ordered the Autumn maki, a combination plate with pork fried rice, bbq pork, crab rangoons, chicken teriyaki, and also we ordered some pork steam dumplings.
The portions were big and was very affordable. The food tasted healthier compared to other Chinese joints.
The service was very fast and our waiter was very kind and alert with water refills.
I really love the sushi I had. I was skeptical for ordering sushi at a chinese restaurant but it was definitely very good.
I will definitely come back here again and recommend this place to any chinese food lover. -

Dynasty is a nice Chinese restaurant, serving traditional Chinese foods and now even Japanese Sushi.
The dishes that come are traditional Chinese faire, but this place is great for getting several dishes for everyone to share, rather than indiviual plates. The food ranges from the good--flavorful, rich, spicy, to mediocre--boring, cubey.
The service is not the best but they get the job done--even if it is with a slight attitude.
Good for families and kids, they have a bit more space than other Chinese restaurants. The Beef Teriyaki is the best food here! The meat is so tender is comes right off the stick when you bite into it! -

We have been going here for probably close to 20 years, and the consistency is just incredible. Never dissapointed with any aspect, short of bar patrons insisting on smoking outside the front door rather than the back. The food is in the Top 5 between Worcester and Boston for Chinese. Their own, special dishes are always very good.

Delicious! We are from CA and were "hurting" for good Chinese food. Not that I like true, authentic Chinese but I do love good Chinese American food...and that does not (to me) include anything that resembles a pupu platter. Having said that, people recommended other local places that never got our vote. Then, another transplant from CA recommended Dynasty and we were so thrilled! They have potstickers (fried dumplings) that taste fresh and good...not too sticky and heavy. Their broccoli in spicy garlic sauce is to die for and we love the mushu (minimal mushrooms if any...seems every other chinese restaurant loves those mushrooms). Their buffet is a great bargain but like any, you end up eating too much! still, it's a good value, I think we paid around $30 for the buffet for two and a couple of drinks. It is our annual Valentine's Day destination as they have great service and are friendly. They even give every table a little valentine's day gift, one year it was a figurine, the next a scarf and this year chocolate...very sweet touch. On service, in general they're super nice but admittedly, one waitress recently seemed pretty surly but the second time we had her, she recalled my husband's name and referred to him by his name several times. The hosts fawn over us and our daughter and make us feel very welcome. The restaurant is clean and the decor minimal. Nothing happening is going on in the place though so if you're looking for a place with lots of energy, this isn't it. It's fine for kids as we always see lots in there but it isn't the kind of place for them to hop down and run around...way too quiet for that. For us, its the ONLY place is we go when we are craving chinese! They do have a bar next door that is rockin' all the time. What is it with bars and Chinese restaurants out here?! oh, well...some day i'll figure it out! :)
