YUM!!! The grilled cheese with bacon is delicious!! It is mega small, and you can easily eat 2 for lunch... I mean, I don't order 2....but I'm sure it would be fine if you did eat 2 for lunch....

The bread soaks up all of the grease and fat from the cheese and bacon, but it is not too heavy where you are just chewing on bread for a half hour. The CHEESE is fried on the edges and absolutely glorious.

Their potato wedge/fries are SO good!!! They're not exactly crispy, they're more creamy and soft than a normal fry, but they have much more flavor.

-1 star...its kind of pricey for their portions...I feel like they capitalize on the whole hip food truck thing, and escalate their prices due to this "food truck" craze. It could be just me? I'm cheap.

Had to try this truck after hearing "oh my God you've to have their sandwich","it's the best in the whole wide world","mind blowing food" kinda reviews from co workers.

So I was in Fresno for couple of weeks and as a big supporter of local restaurants I had my mind set on Dusty Buns waiting for the truck to show up on Wednesday at Kaiser facility.

The line was long .. Took us about 25 mins to get to order. Doesn't mean the line was really that long.. Had about 15 people ahead of us but they take a break between orders to catch up with kitchen I believe. Took another 15 mins to get our order.

I had veg out sandwich. Wasn't much impressed with it. It was a mushy sandwich with tooo soft buns. Couldn't really identify the veggies in that mush of caramelized onions. It certainly wasn't worth $7. Potato fries were decent though the lemon aioli that came with the fries was very good.

Personally I feel it's an over rated truck with over rated prices.

      WOW! A new addiction ;-)

So after my two failed attempts at trying to catch this bistro on wheels, my efforts finally paid off (and the owners graciously accommodated me in the most delicious way possible!). The couple that run this establishment are soo nice :-) and provided excellent customer service with a smile, which is also nice.

Since this business is always on the go, you never know where in Fresno they may be, that is, if you're not already following them on twitter for updates on their next scheduled location.

Today however, they were in front of Warnors theater downtown. I strolled up to the cute green truck and ordered the grilled cheese bacon sandwich, the potato salad and then topped it off with a refreshing orange sun tea. From the moment I took my first bite, I could tell that the ingredients were of a fresh, and premium caliber. The flavors were amazing, and just enough without being too overwhelming.

There's no doubt in my mind that this place will be the new lunch spot favorite.
So do yourself a favor, ditch the greasy burger 'n' fries and make a much healthier, and tastier choice AND GO check out this place soon ;-)

P.S. This place ONLY accepts cash and don't forget to follow this gourmet eatery on twitter @dustybunsbistro

Thanks to Jen H. for an excellent find :-)

Even though I like the whole concept of all the ingredients coming from local farms being used here, I'll probably stick to my usual spot at Carthop after coming here for lunch.

I tried the Dusty Bun a couple times before at their brick and mortar location , but the one here was just poorly made. They load it up with so much slaw, over their small buns that it couldn't really hold it together. I had to eat it all with a fork, since it was all soggy from the chicken and just fell apart right after I picked it up. It's good, but I still can't say it lives up to the hype in my opinion. It wasn't the owners who were making this either as before, so it just isn't the same now here. All this for $7 is probably not worth it.

Their homemade peach drink though (fresca something?), was really good and probably the best tasting juice I have had in a while. Not too sweet, and tasted really fresh.

Had a disappointing visit to the food truck... My fiancé and I were wanting to try their Grilled Cheese Sandwich... Not sure what we were imagining but was something a little nicer than what we got. For a $7 sandwich, it was a disappointment to say the least. Their was SO much mayo all over the sandwich, and it looked like someone threw up cheese and bacon and put it between some bread. We tried to get past the look of it, hoping the taste would make up for it but that didn't happen. Out of all the food trucks there, we had good hopes for a meal from them since we enjoyed their Duck Tacos from Taco Truck Throwdown last year... But I guess next time we will have to stick with a safer choice.

      Grilled Cheese Sandwich... NOT good.

I would love to give this place a 5 .. but it didn't give me a chance!

I'm bummed that I drove all the way from Livermore to good ol' Fresno with the anticipation of gettin' me some dusty buns (which would SO be my p0rn star name!), and they're not motoring around on the weekend! And I joined Twitter just to be able to locate them!!!! :-(

Oh well, there's always next time's 3 hour drive to BFE.

I really wanted to like this place given they use locally grown ingredients but sadly I was not impressed.

Customer service: the young lady who took my order was not friendly at all. I did not feel welcomed or like an appreciated customer. When I asked a question regarding their menu, she responded with a "duh" attitude. Not cool.

Price: I ordered the "dusty bun" (which is a chicken sandwich) and the "bistro fries" - my order was $14.00. I get it, organic means more money but maybe if there were tables provided to sit & eat my lunch, the price would be a little more reasonable.

Taste: eh. It's not bad but there's nothing amazing. The chicken sandwich is a solid 3 stars out of 5, that's the best I can describe. The fries, nothing special. The garlic dipping sauce was very plain.

I wouldn't completely rule out this place, I'm sure I'll try it again. Just not anytime soon. ;-)

You may have read about the Dusty Buns Bistro Bus in the Bee. The owners are a very nice, young couple who have trained at the California Culinary Institute, so this isn't your regular roach coach.

The food is unique and very tasty. I've had the the Dusty Bun chipotle chicken sandwich, the roasted veg. sandwich, the potato salad, and the market salad. I give the thumbs up to all of the aforementioned. I liked the Dusty Buns the best. Next, I'll be trying the BLT grilled cheese sandwich.

It's rather disappointing to have to give such allow rating the dusty buns truck. Since the truck was the root of the Fresno fancy food truck scene I would have loved to come here and say that this was an outstanding experience. Unfortunately, I have to say that visiting the truck has been disappointing.

Service at the truck is always fine, they call you up, you order, and then you wait. However, that wait is often in excess of 20 minutes if they are busy. I understand that quality food takes awhile, but this can be a bit excessive considering the nature of the food truck industry is built on fast and fresh experiences.

One thing that is really disappointing is that the prices have gone up quite a bit. I understand the need to make a profit, but feeding a family will easily cost you $50-$60. However, that's only if they have all the products you are wanting. The last two times I have been to the truck they have been out of some of their staple items. They have been out of fries/garlic sauce/bacon/tofu/avocado/buns. The worst part about this is that I got to the location they were selling at 20 minutes after they had opened.

Another thing about the bus is that they seem to not have fresh juices very often. The fresh juices are one of the most delicious parts of Dusty Buns. However, they rarely have them. Instead I have had to order the soda they sell because I was thirsty. I won't be making that mistake again. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the grapefruit soda.

The food at Dusty Buns bus is also inconsistent. The tofu bun is excellent, if you can get to the bus when they actually have it. The fries are awesome if you like some nice thick yeasty potatoes. However, the mac and cheese was so salty that I couldn't even eat it.

While I like Dusty Buns, and always enjoy visiting the bistro, the bus seems to have gone downhill in order to facilitate their growth in the bistro and into SF. I certainly hope that this is not a continuing problem.

      Wow...

I've been hearing about this place all over the web for a while now. Since I don't have Twitter, I had no idea how to find out where they would be.

I have a standing appointment every other month at Kaiser, and my last appointment happened to be on a Wednesday.

And wouldn't you know it, that's how I finally tasted my first Dusty Bun's Sandwich!

Now, I actually look forward to my appointments at Kaiser, if only to eat here.

I also had the Bistro Taco and a cup of the Valley Orange sun tea. Very refreshing!

It's too bad I discovered this too late to vote for them in the Great Food Truck Race. Oh well, next year.
