This is one of the top 5 restaurants in the city. Top-notch cuisine and a superb wine list. The blend of Italian, French, Argentinean food with a local organic Florida flair just works. The fresh pasta with fresh Oregon mushrooms was one of the best dishes i have ever had. I asked for more bread just to lap up the delicious sauce. The Cod special ordered literally melts in your mouth. The server was one of the most knowledge and passionate servers I have ever met. The sommelier, while reserved, had a wealth of information on the wine list. The decor is maybe a little to modern for my taste. Appetizers are about $15, Entrees under $30. I am definitely highly recommending Duo.
Heavenly,
As recent Midwest transplants we are on a quest to visit every good restaurant in Miami. Saturday we dined at Duo in downtown near Brickell. We were impressed on all counts - food, service, and ambience. We started with a glass of Chablis and munched on the homemade breadsticks and Tuscan bean puree the on fresh bread.
The beets and asparagus salad with goat cheese was topped with beet vinaigrette dressing. Excellent! Husband had the Maryland style crab cakes with pomegranates also delicious. For
entre we shared the corvina fish, OMG this was absolutely perfectly cooked, slightly crusty outside and moist inside, husband tried the Argentine churrasco with chimichurri and he almost didn't let me taste. Dessert was as good as the rest of our meal, crusty almond an apricot creation with a beaiful apricot rosemary sauce and doughnuts with crme anglaise.
It's amazing what can be done with fresh ingredients and a little creativity!
