When we opened the door to our room....We couldn't go in...we both stood in the door way...frozen.  What is that sound?   It took us a moment to realize...The ocean waves crashing to shore.  Wowwwza!   It was awe inspiring.  We stayed on the 5th floor....it was breath taking to look out over the ocean and see dolphins flipping and dancing !   We didn't want to leave the room.  We were set up with a fridge to accomodate our drinks and snacks, TV...comfy bed and ocean view...what more did we need for a good vacation.  LOL    Our fun did not end here ...not by a long shot.
When you walk into the doors of this 'resort'  you will know instantly that this is no 'regular' hotel.   The entrance is formal and grand...but the staff members are not stuffy one bit.  There was a sing a long in the common area with a leader who was a real peach.  It was welcoming and inviting to say the least.
One of our favorite moments was watching the sun rise.  The times were posted in each elevator ...as this is a big event.  The moment it breaks on the horizon...many guest could be heard with ooohs and ahhhs!  Not that much different than the fourth of july fireworks.  The sun is just a pin prick on the ocean and then unfolds and blooms like a rose...it is something special to see.  Viewing it from our private balcony was spectacular.  Each room has one!
We traveled with another couple and the hotel did everything possible to accomodate our special requests for ajoining rooms without incident.

I would love to return again.

This is a fabulous hotel. Every room has a balcony and ocean view. In a great part of OC - away from the honkey tonk. Staff is very friendly and nice. Restaurant is very good and reasonably priced so you can eat at the hotel and not get ripped off. Very intimate and cozy lobby.  Will definitely come back.

This is a great hotel located on the beach one block from where the boardwalk ends.  Every room has an ocean view. They have a fantastic veranda with lounge chairs to sit upon and take in the ocean's surf.

I've only stayed here off season when they have great weekend packages at reasonable prices.  I've booked my room for Thanksgiving again this year.

Their restaurant serves delicious seafood.  I don't eat meat, so instead of the traditional turkey for Thanksgiving I had scallops.  Very plump and tender.  Breakfast is pretty typical; nothing to yelp about. One waiter we had was so helpful in finding out if another restaurant we were planning on having crabs at was open at that time of year.

The staff are very friendly and attentive.  Most are young foreign students, with the exception of Shirley, the piano matron.  Her show tunes and old time classics brought the local seniors in for a song or two, or three...I had to get out of there and leave my mom in her element.

We just completed our four night stay at the Dunes Manor Hotel on 28th street in Ocean City, MD. From the front the hotel is impressive looking. It resembles a Victorian Castle. The hotel stands 11 floors high and all rooms are ocean front. The inside is nicely decorated in "old ocean city" decora. Each night a lady played the lobby piano and many of the guests would sing old familiar tunes. Our room was nice and clean just as expected.

A few complaints. 1. We called down in the morning and asked that our room be cleaned before 12:30pm so that our three little ones could nap before going out for the evening. We came back to our room at 1:30pm to an unserviced room. We called down and got the run-a-round. We asked if it could be done in the evening while we were out. It was.

The main dining room is the Victorian Room where we ate dinner, lunch, and breakfasts. The one night we ate dinner at the hotel we were forced to wait 15 minutes for drinks after the order was given. Other than that the food was good.

The last day for breakfast we waited a full 15 minutes before being greeted by our server. Our drinks took another 10 minutes and our meal another 20 minutes. In my opinion 45 minutes is way too long to wait for breakfast.

There's a good chance that we will return to this hotel because of it's location one block from the boardwalk. I just hope the service has improved.
