We needed a place to stay, but didn't want to stay out of the vicinity we were mostly going to be visiting, also something of good value.
At the time this had the most affordable prices. First lets just say the photos make the place look nicer than it really is.
We got a room with 2 beds. Full/Queen sizes if I recall. The place is setup like an atrium. The room was spacious. It had a fridge, and just like all fridges I've come upon no matter how posh the hotel sucks. A/C worked. Bathroom was a decent size. Cleanliness is where I took out stars. It's great value, but they really do not pay attention to detail and cleaning. Behind the bed was dusty and dirty.
That was really my main complaint. Ice machines are there with microwaves to use. Free WIFI. If the place invested in better cleaning and maybe some renovation it would be a good value place to stay.
Another gripe, although parking is free in their garage, CAUTION IF YOU HAVE AN SUV with racks or what not. The clearance is LOW!
Staff was friendly. Surrounding location was not noisy and ghetto. -

My GF and went on a trip down to LA. We were going to go to disneyland but decided at the last min to go to universal studios. We looked at the hotels in the area and they were way overpriced since they were so close to Universal Studios. We found the Dunnes Inn by accident. The price was low compared to $169 that the other dive hotels were offering, only $79. We payed that plus the deposit for the remote control! I couldn't beleive it.
We went in to the room and within 10 min I was back at the front desk returning the key. We were only in for less than 10 min and they wouldn't refund us back our money, I was pissed. We sucked it up and stayed anyway since we were already super sleepy. We did not sleep on their sheets, lucky for us we had a blanket in the car and slept on top of that. Didn't take a shower since the tub seemed...well it wasn't dirty....it just didn't seem clean either. This place should only be your last resort if you can afford it stay at a larger chain hotel you will pay a bit more but you will be a lot more comfertable.
