I can give it 4.5 cuz they deliver what you want in a burger. I had the smaller size, I am still a chick and should be modest in my portions I think.

Anyhow, first time here as I just moved into the hood, it's a block and half away from home.  I love a sunny side up egg on my burger. "sure we can do that" is an answer I can always love.

I didn't know what cut of meat they used (waitress didn't look 100% sure) but I got it medium (will definitely go MR next time!) with a fried egg. The burger is shaped to almost a slightly flattened ball, I think burgers are meant to be this shape. Served in a brioche with choice of FF, salad(??? Come on, who u kidding? there are fried items as sides, why choose lettuce?) and onion rings. I was stuffed after the burger but onion rings will just kill you and take you to some place in heaven. Batter is so light and crispy. The can get a whole review on it's own. Oh so yum. I am so glad I moved 2 mins away!

Dumont burger is a tiny little place.. Certainly not the place to take your ex-wife and argue with.. "You were sitting their breast feeding when you told me you didnt want me going golfing"   "I always have to hear about your fucking feeeeelings"  "You sit their taking your g-d damn French Classes and I would never tell you not to take them"  "I work hard all day and my boss is a real prick!  I like to golf ok, I would never, ever tell you to get a job or stop taking French Classes"  These were just a few gems that I remember from the people's conversation sitting next to us at small the communal counter in the middle of this tiny little restaurant..

Well now on to the food.. The menu is tiny, it's a burger bar after all.. You can order two size burgers 8 and 5 oz.. The 5 oz is $9.5 the 8 oz is $12.50..  .. The burgers come with pickles, onions, lettuce and tomato and either a side of fries, salad, or onion rings..

The fries are awesome as are the stand out Onion Rings.. The onion rings have this sort of fried fish sort of batter,. Really awesome... I ordered a side of their house made cheese sauce that went really well with the crispy fries.

Everything else is a few dollars extra from the chipotle mayo to the bacon and cheese, even bbq sauce was extra.

Burger was cooked a perfect medium rare, it was juicy, the brioche bun was a perfect fit..   Definitely one of the better burgers I have eaten in recent memory..

Mac and cheese came out of the kitchen smelling and looking amazingly good..  Brownie dessert was big enough for four and really nice.

With out drinking, my burger and fries came out to 25 bucks.. A little steep for the setting and surrounding..

Really liked the burger though, the cost was a little much.

While I still hate being "THAT" guy, the burgers here are fantastic. Despite the price I find myself eating here when I'm in the area.
Additionally, for cheapskates like me, they now offer a $9.50 mini-burger. At 5 oz. it's not that "mini" and as tasty as the 8 oz. burger.
I still think burgers and pizza have gotten overpriced, but this place is worth the cost.

Dumont is sadly going down hill.

I have enjoyed Dumont for some time now and never felt the need to add another glowing review for this popular burger joint.

I have always especially liked the fries, side salad, and fish sandwich. My girlfriend (a vegan) would happily chow down on their chickpea burger.

But they have gotten a new chef in there and they have started foolin' around with the formula that has made them a star.

Some of the trade-off are clearly financial...bigger side salad, smaller side of fries...is the bun smaller too?

Some trade-offs are toss-ups...fish sandwich used to come with a side of tarter sauce, now it has a tarter sauce cabbage mix on the sandwich. Some might like it...I preferred the former. The breading might not be the same as well. Overall a former superstar fish sandwich is now just good.

Some are just are lame...the chickpea burger now has egg in it and is NOT VEGAN. I am never getting in there now if I can't bring my vegan friends. Crap.

Even if I go alone I don't know if I think it is worth the wait.

So I am writing this as a warning to diners not to get too emotionally involved. They are feeling some kind of money pinch or too cocky...not a good sign.

And a note to the owners. I could live with (but not like) many of these changes but the removal of the vegan option is bad business. Meat eaters have veggie friends.

2 stars and disappointed.

Food: Probably one of my favorite burger joints in the city. Fresh ingredients (tomato was red and oozing sweetness, lettuce had a nice crunch, onions nice and spicy) top of the extremely juicy patty. Meat is cooked to order (at least for medium orders). Good choice using the extremely rich brioche as the bun that holds the burger together. Quality from bread to meat and everything in between.
For sides, I highly recommend the onion rings over the fries. Nice thick cuts of onions and after frying still maintains the onion flavor.

Drink: Average beer selection. Didn't try anything else, but they do stock a full bar.

Service: Friendly service, nothing outstanding though.

Ambiance: Every time I went, sat at the bar. Tall stools that were comfortable enough. The tables looked uncomfortable, especially the one lining the wall, looks too narrow. Everything here is made of wood but fear not, the dinginess of old wood in the air is lacking. Combined with the natural lighting, the gleam of human oil on the surfaces adds character to the establishment.

Delicioso! Great Burger-cooked perfectly and awesome onion rings. I stopped in there by chance and was sold! Great selection of draft beer and the milkshakes are killer! It's a bit crowded but they have a dining area outdoors. Service is pretty good for a restaurant that is crazy busy. I recommend this place to EVERYONE -(they have chickpea burgers for all you vegans!)

why won't any of these nicer burger joints cook my burger the way i want it? i ordered mine medium and it came out fully cooked. sigh.

otherwise, the burger was tasty. i got it with the blue cheese, which they were quite generous with. i would have preferred the ciabatta bread that they use for the mini-burger because the brioche still got mushy halfway through. also didn't notice much of a size difference between the $9 mini that my friend got and my $12 regular dumont burger.

still looking for a burger place that will blow me away. or at least cook it the way i like it. this place might do for now though.

THE Best Burgers in New York, by far.  Other burger's I've had are also delicious, but those are just burgers.  Dumont Burgers should be categorized as their own type of burger.  They marinate the meat or something to make it juicy and have these amazing flavours jump out at you.

Would highly recommend the Mac & Cheese too!!  Totally tasty, cheesy, and absolutely delicious!

Beware of long waits on the weekends (or even some weeknights), but the people are super friendly.  Also not a great place for groups bigger than 4, however Dumont is always a wonderful experience.

I reluctantly (because of their infamously "overpriced" menu) had dinner here recently. Let me start by saying I don't normally eat burgers; not an avid meat-eater but not disciplined enough to call myself a vegetarian. ***But then I had the veggie burger.***

Sweet bliss, damn that burga's good! Definitely one of those meals that you can't finish because you're so full, but you can't just leave it because it's so delicious.

When it comes to their menu selection, quality over quantity. They even have Argentinean wines!

I no longer consider them overpriced. You really do get what you pay for.

My friend once brought me here in the wee hours ranting and raving about the 'best mac n' cheese ever'.  I have to admit it was really good.  Some people don't like it because it's more creamy than cheesy, but I don't mind the creaminess.

This particular DuMont is small, with lots of stool seating, if your going to sit down, I'd go to the one at Lorimer.

dumont burger is heaven sent. it's just a small joint (actually recently renovated to accommodate more seating) and it's not super fancy, but they do PERFECT burgers! i wouldn't go for the ambiance, although it's not gross or unpleasant by any means, but it really is all about the burgers. i always get the mini burger which is really full size and perfect. they also offer a fish, grilled chicken sandwich, and veggie burger which are nice, but the mini-burger is the real star!! also great for take-out and delivery.

Dumont Burger should be called Dumont Mac & Cheese.

Notice that all of the reviewers love the mac & cheese.  It is the best, creamiest, cheesiest, MOST satisfying mac & cheese of all time.  I tried to duplicate it last week with a very daring (... in terms of possible heart attack risk) recipe, but I couldn't come close to matching the creaminess.  I don't know how they do it.  After putting so much work and money into a sub-par mac & cheese at home, I realize that the DB mac & cheese is TOTALLY M.F. King worth it!

Someone in your party may get a burger, in which case they will be amply impressed and satiated.  *Brooklyn* doesn't like when people say, "It's not worth the trip to Brooklyn".  That's not right.  If you're in Brooklyn, eat some delicious food with us!  If you're not, stop bitching about how it takes 3 minutes to cross the East M.F. King River.

WT fuck?

why on God's green earth would you make the default bun for the mini a fucking "ciabattini"?

why pull a quick change on your bun when you've got a beautiful thing with the brioche?
really disconcerting.  this is like having a friend you really admire and respect and then you find out he/she is the local chapter president of the Nickelback fan club.

all that aside...the burger was cooked perfect to mid-rare, the lettuce and tomato were fresh and the fries were sexy.  even after having been shoved into a tin and delivered everything was perfect.

BTW...why no pickled onions like at dumont proper?  i love them mutherfuckers...

I can't decide if I should 1. bother writing a review since there is an exorbitant number of reviews and 2. give Dumont Burger 3 or 4 stars.

First, I did like my burger.  It was cooked the way I asked it to be, and that's always a huge plus.  Nothing worse than asking for medium rare and getting medium well.  The buns were good, the lettuce, tomatoes, salad all nice and fresh.

I really don't have any complaints (other than those stupid stools that weighed a gazillion pounds making it difficult for me to move mine around...)

Thing is, I've made really good burgers at home on the grill in the past, with good brioche buns, homemade pickles and all, so my burger at Dumont Burger was on par with one that I'd make at home.  One plus with DB's burger is that I didn't have to eat dinner that night, I was so full from eating all but a little bit of that burger.  I suppose I'll give Dumont Burger 4 stars.

********NOTE: For the To GO location only*******

Hi there,

My name is R&^%*(, people around these parts call me the Claw.  I just moved to the 'Burg, but have been working so much I have not had the time to explore.

It was a lovely Wednesday morning, I emailed him to see if we could meet at DuMont Burger for a bite (pun intended) and some booze.  After 6 hours of silence on his end, I thought fuck it, this girl's getting her damn burger whether this dick (literally) joins or not.  He responded, had a "thing" (I'll say).

I left work early (8:00 PM), got on the R, got on the L, walked past my place and headed for my meat.  The counter situation had me a bit confused, and I'm smarter than the average bear, so set up minor fail.  The counter chick was nice, helpful, and gave me a great suggestion (go for the rings rather than the fries).  I ordered my burger MR (in retrospect why the fuck didn't I order bacon?).

Luckily, I happened to bring the latest Chuck Palahniuk bestseller to keep me company while I waited.  It only took about ten minutes and then I ran home with my juicy goodness.

I was starving, likely ate it too quickly.  I enjoyed it, but it isn't better than Shake Shack and I don't love Shake Shack.  There are better burgers out there, for much cheaper - $12+ come on!  The rings were good, but I think I got 5, I'm a pig and need more.

It was a good experience service wise, but I would rather go to Royale in the EV or back to the Shack to satiate my burger cravings.  Hell there's a ghetto place by work that sells them for two bones that's kinda better.

I'm deducting a star because the outside chairs were super uncomfortable and the tables were ridiculously small.

I ordered, of course a cheeseburger.  It seemed pricey but let me tell you...it was sooooo worth it.  I am from Dallas...I know grilled foods.  This burger was juicy and fantastic.  Plus the plate had both speared and sandwich pickles on it...which is a bonus, always.  it was cooked perfectly medium.  The fries that came with were good but not OMG.  Nevertheless...I ate them all.

I can't remeber the cocktail I tried, but I'm pretty sure it had elderflower  or lemon in it.  I'm an eccentric cocktail afficianado, and this cocktail was satisfactory but didn't totally rock my socks.  The fact that I can't barely remember it means it was mediocre.

My coworkers and I have apparently embarked on a quest for the best burger in the city.  I'm not sure how its happened, but I'm glad that it has, because well... I really love me some burgers.

A glowing review from Epicurious declared DuMont Burger the best in New York, so we dutifully trekked out to Williamsburg to try it.  Our late lunch started off with an order of frickles, which is one of my favorite disgusting fried indulgences.  As far as fried pickles go, I'd have to say I had better.  Still though, a frickle can only be so bad.

As the burgers arrived, my coworkers and I were mid-conversation, and we started eating them without giving proper pause to the momentous occasion.  These were supposed to be the best of the best here!  But we kept talking and eating, and eventually it dawned on me that as good as the burger was, I've had burgers before that forced me to stop in my tracks, hear angels, and have to cross my legs to cover up a potentially embarrassing situation.  Not the case here.  It was good.  Really good, but not life changing like sites like Epicurious and NYMag would have you believe.

Still though, it is well worth the expensive price.  The brioche bun works perfectly with the burger, and the outdoor seating is always a plus.  They have a small but deadly beer selection featuring a few that I have never heard of before, but will definitely seek out again.

DuMont Burger was a satisfying meal in a nice spot.  But it is clear to me that the work of my coworkers and I is far from over, as we keep searching for New York's best burger.

We were victims of a bad server...

Yesterday I ate here with my gf.  Our server was indifferent, nearly non-existent, and didn't bother to check on us at all.  When she took our order she just walked up and looked at us like we were supposed to know what to do- she barely mustered up a "hello".

My gf ordered her burger well done, and I ordered mine medium rare.  When our server brought them out she didn't bother mentioning which was which, and she gave us the wrong ones.

The burgers were very good.  The beef was juicy and perfectly cooked, the bun was kind of chewy- in a good way, and the fries were delicious.

I couldn't help but notice that the gentleman server who helped the people next to us went over the specials (which we didn't even know they had), took drink orders, and went back and checked on all of his tables.  We had to flag down another random waiter to order another glass of wine.

If I lived across the street, maybe I'd get some takeout.  The food was pretty good.  However, I'm not making the trek back to Brooklyn again to eat at this place.  I was thoroughly disappointed.

I've been going to DuMont Burger since I moved to Williamsburg three  years ago. Three years ago, it was a small bar that happened to serve some of the best burgers in NYC. It's since adapted into more of a well rounded restaurant.

The burgers are obviously the star here. On brioche rolls with the finest ingredients. But the Mac n Cheese is also to die for here and definitely an entree in their own right.

Just make sure you're here early because it gets packed quick, esp during months without outdoor seating.

I can't bring myself to give 4 stars to a Brooklyn burger joint that charges $12 for a burger and $1.50 more for cheese.

After a celebration night lasting from the evening through sunrise, I set out in search of a big fatty cheeseburger and some fried potatoes to feed the growling beast. It was a pretty damn good burger, especially with the brioche, but I've had equally good burgers at a third of the price. The fries were mediocre.

My bloody mary was also fantastic, and this is an easy drink for a bartender to go astray on. But $8 for rail vodka. It also singlehandedly knocked me on my ass, and sent me home for a mid-afternoon catnap, so I guess I got my 8 bucks worth.

The service was great. Even though they were packing them in, they were on top of it, and the burger came out fast.

So, four stars for a decent burger, a great drink, and great service.  But charging me 12 smackers and then another 1.50 for a piece of cheese leaves a star to be desired.

The brioche bun and butterhead lettuce were nice fixings.  The Squab and I also enjoyed their mac & cheese.

I wouldn't trek all the way to BK just to have the burger though.  It's not the elusive holy grail burger of NYC.

Went to this joint after reading that it had Zagat's highest rating for  burgers in NYC. The hamburger was terrible !!! The meat was overcooked, dry and round like a tennis ball. These burgers should be called meatloaf burgers instead of hamburgers.
However, the Bedford Av sidewalk tables are nice for people watching. That's probably why this place is always full. People watching people and not minding about terrible food at high prices....

Everybody has what needs to be said about this spot - very nice, good burgers, nice other choices - well executed.  (However, I do agree ciabatta default is lousy - originally the dumont mini, used to come with a perfect mini burger roll, shiney on top and delicious).

One great/unique feature that might not have been mentioned on delivery: They ask you if you need any condiments (ketchup, mustard, utensils) - if every other place I ordered from would do the same, we all might not have a drawer full of crap we won't ever use!

Your burgers make me long for meaty goodness....so much in fact, I broke my red meat rule and went twice this weekend! Saturday and Sunday nights - Both nights enjoying the delectable mini burger with caramelized onions. Sunday, having the luxury of eating with my parents, we all got burgers + an order of their amazing onion rings and finally....for dessert.... mini dumac and cheese! Awesome spirally pasta with bitter-gooey cheese and thick bacon chunks. Absolutely worth getting fat for.

Don't let the word "mini" steer you to think that either the dumac & cheese or burgers claiming this title are small. They are actually the perfect size to be slightly over satiated.

Outdoor seating gives you prime seats for people watching as dumont burger is located in prime, S-burg on Bedford. Service was also awesome.
Worth the wait for outdoor seating!

So I don't eat beef, right?  But once a year, I crack and give in to my burger cravings.  Which means it's a pretty big effing deal.

This year, DuMont was my one-and-only for that special night.

It was everything I hoped for and more -- a big, juicy burger with a generous helping of fries.  A waitress who didn't kick us out -- despite the fact that it was 2 am on a Wednesday and we were the only ones in the joint.  A crazy, large beer selection.

So, in short:  DuMont gets two thumbs up from a non-beef-eating burger-lover.

If you're looking for a cheap burger and fries, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for one of the best burgers of your life, and your willing to spend around $15-$20, then you're set.

I went with a friend and we split a burger ($12.50) and got cheddar cheese on it it (+$1.50). It came with fries, and everything was delicious.

We also split the macaroni and cheese, which is by far the beset mac and cheese I've ever had. I definitely couldn't have eaten it all by myself, so this is something you should get to share! It has cheddar, gruyere, parmesan, bacon, and radiatore pasta. It is simply fantastic. Everything came out nice and hot, and they even cut the burger in half so we could split it easily.

The service was awesome, and the atmosphere is cozy. Dark, and lit by candles. It's a cool play to hang. It also has a nice outdoor seating area in the front of the restaurant so you can watch all the hipsters walk by on Bedford.

Most of the time when you go to a diner and order a burger and fries, you end up spending about $10 or more, so you might as well just fork over the extra dollars for a good meal.

4.0 stars for quality of burgers and  onion rings, averaged.

2.0 stars for ripping me off unapologetically.

Don't get me wrong: The burger is really good, esp considering local options....

but for a (min.) $14 (cheese) burger, it's kinda like I expect the cow to walk over to my table, tell me it's life story,  and ritually sacrifice itself before me... or something equally dramatic... or at least a bit more ambiance...otherwise a $14 beef patty makes me feel stoopid.

*On the other hand:  their onion rings are 'to die for' (no pun)... they're sooooo goood.  4 of us went through 3.5 orders last time and still found ourselves craving more, later that night.

If you get nothing else: try the onion rings!

Bottom Line: Best onion rings I've ever had.  Burger is good but feels to expensive for this type of restaurant

*I've never eaten in the "Treehouse" but that does look like it's rad and perhaps would make me less stingy about the Dumont Experience

the worst fish sandwich eva eva 4 eva eva.
not usually into burger joints bc i am certain that $14 burgers anywhere will not taste as good as the ones i can make on my own grill. but was in the neighborhood with friends and it was easy. so the waitress recommends the fish, said i'd be a fool not to try it, i have second thoughts but she assures me i can complain to her if hate it.
i hate it. it was so bad after 2 bites ( and thats all i could take) i was sick for the rest of the night (spew sick, mind you). on top of that when i mentioned i couldnt eat it, there was not even an offer to replace it, then she declared her shift was over & switched servers. YUK. also the drinks are quite overpriced. overall not worth it, even if the burgers are good you can get them elsewhere for cheaper & better service.

Tonight I ordered (my previously favorite) chickpea burger and onion rings for take-out. I am a fairly regular customer, and always recommend dumont burger in the highest regards to anyone and everyone I meet. However, tonight I noticed that the recipe for the chickpea burger has significantly changed since the last time I ordered. I normally would not log a complaint about this - but I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this change. It lacks the texture, consistency and flavor that I used to love about it. It is far too mushy and  is missing the falafel-flavor that used to lend so well to the traditional tzatziki sauce. Now, the tzatziki sauce has some sort of unnecessary spice that clashes with the mediocre spices of the patty. And to top it all off, my order only had 4 onion rings. Needless to say, as a vegetarian (and therefore having no further options), I will not be back to the restaurant unless the former recipe is reinstated.

At DuMont Burger the other night, I watched a couple next to me share a plate of mac & cheese, but not finish it.  When the waiter came to clear it, I literally--LITERALLY--thought for about 1.5 seconds about offering to finish it for them.  And I totally would have, because I have a solid immune system and am not really afraid of germs, and because the DuMac is quite possibly the best mac & cheese in BK after Jack the Horse.  However, a little voice inside me declared that in modern civilization, it is really not OK to finish a stranger's food, no matter how delicious you know it would be, and no matter how slim your chances are of catching something.

The DuMont burger is good but not great, and is $4 more than Royale's, which is better anyway.  The fries, however, are first rate.  They've got a cute little cocktail list, and when I ordered a Dark & Stormy I was given the entire bottle of ginger beer along with my drink--a nice touch.

If I'm in the area, I'll probably never say no to eating at DuMont Burger, but at the same time I'll probably never say yes to it if I'm not.

So you know when you have a friend, and things are going really well for him or her, and you're really happy for that friend, but maybe, just maybe, he or she is getting a little big for his or her britches, and you're kinda like, calm down, man, things really aren't going THAT well....?

yeah. that's exactly how i feel about dumont burger. because i mean, the burgers are really pretty good, and they deliver to my apartment, and holy jesus i love their thick, crispy bacon.

but really? $15.50 for a bacon cheeseburger? really?!

......really?

you're just lucky no one else particularly good in Williamsburg delivers to my address, and i can be quite lazy after 9pm.

I'm not sure if driving for 5 hours straight had an added effect on my taste buds but stopping here after here was definitely a great idea. I opted for the mini with a side salad, which was great. The burger was tender juicy and packed with a wonderful and distinct flavor. Our server was incredibly kind and courteous. They get 5 stars for having a clean bathroom and for seating us while we waited for another member of our party. Respect.

I gave up on restaurant burgers for a long time.  I used to be a professional cook, and became very good at making burgers.  This lead me to notice that most places suck at them.  They're very simple, and simple is much easier to mess up than complicated.  There are a lot of things that can wrong with a preparation of a burger, and there are ways to correct these problems (DuMont does NOT do these awful things):

1) The Burger is too round.  What the eff?  I don't want a meatball.  This can be avoided by creating a deep indent with your thumb in the center of the burger patty immediately after it is placed on the grill.

2)The Bun:
          A.  If the bun is larger than The Burger.  This trait is particularly irritating and common if combined with the Meatball-style burger.  This can be completely avoided if the burger patty, when raw, is molded completely flat, and about a 1/3 of an inch thick*.  Yes the thing looks like a pancake, but a burger, when cooked, bunches up and becomes smaller.  The thumb-indent technique is no longer necessary if this technique is used.
         B.  There shouldn't be any bread left over, and I shouldn't feel like I just ate a loaf of it.  The best burger I've ever had was a cheddar burger on a portuguese muffin with horseradish sauce.  The muffin was small, and complimented, not ENGULFED the burger.  Anyway.

3) The Burger isn't seasoned, which is to say, there was no salt and pepper placed on the raw meat before it cooked.  If this is the case, it's just the tip of the iceberg of what goes on in that kitchen.  You're probably in a TGIF or some shit or an ethnic restaurant that offers a burger to try to appease Americans.  Leave immediately or stick with the specialty cuisine.  There's no excuse for under seasoning.

4) The Burger bun is sopping wet with disgusting juice.  This is what happens when the burger goes straight to bun from the grill, and left to sit in a window.  The burger should be allowed to rest for a few minutes after cooking before placement on the bun, thus letting the juices redistribute and flow out as needed.

5)  The Burger is dry as shit.  A burger cooked well-done needn't be dry if cooked properly.  You know the grill cook you see in the open kitchen who always flipping the burger and squeezing it and pressing down on it with his spatula?  Yeah, DON'T DO THAT.  It also helps if the cook knows his temperatures, so he doesn't leave it on the grill til just before burnt.  (As a side-note, turkey burgers are also usually dry, which can be remedied by mixing some chopped raw mushrooms to the burger patty.  While The Burger cooks, the moisture in the mushrooms is released into the burger.  Much better.)

6) Toppings.
       A. The cheese isn't melted.  The cheese should not go on the burger after it is cooked.
       B. The lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle.  All should be sliced very thin to allow for maximum exposure of toppings to Burger.  You know the age-old problem of One Tomato Not Enough, Two Tomatoes Too Many?  That is how this is avoided.  Also, I don't want the Iceberg or Romaine heart.  No one does.

I could go on (soggy pickle on the side, don't refry the fries), but this covers the basics.  DuMont burger seems to follow all my rules quite well, and probably does them better, as I have been out of the cooking-professionally loop for a few years.  I heartily recommend this burger.

*  Also this can be avoided by buying pre-made burgers, as they are formed perfectly.  They must be of the utmost quality, however, and an 80/20 meat-to-fat ratio is recommended.

DuMont Burger is OK in my humble opinion. The service was really excellent.

The chickpea burger sounded great it WAS great on first bite. But then it felt like there was a rock in my stomach and I could only eat half. I tried to enjoy my onion rings but the batter was so salty that my entire body revolted.

Considering I could only eat about half my meal, it was not worth the price. The regular burger and grilled chicken may be better options.

Have you seen that New Yorker cartoon? There is a rigatoni talking on the phone and he says "Fusilli, you crazy bastard!"

The bartender at DuMont brought us a casserole dish full of creamy, cheesy, bacony goodness. It made us giddy. Either that or the Jameson was talking because I kept repeating "fusilli you crazy bastard!"

We kind of messed up though because then we didn't have room for our mini burgers on brioche buns. Mini = 5.5 oz = what? It's big. I got mushrooms with mine and they were perfectly cooked, really dark from releasing all their juices but then cooked long enough to soak em back up. The onion rings were terrific.

Cool room too, all the windows were open out onto the street. There's the bar and two additional rows of metal, bar-like tables with tall chairs. Will go back when I am less of a crazy bastard.
