We loved this place. Simple as that. The tri tip sandwich was great (although my man said he went back a second time and it was awful) and the drinks were super strong. Might be back since it's a hop, skip, and a jump away from our house.

I'm glad I found this gem on my own and didnt read any yelp reviews on this place before eating here. Although I did look them up on Foursquare and read all good reviews. Anyway, all the people that left bad reviews probably have palates that are custom to coors light and del taco.
My boyfriend and I tried the ribs and tri tip sandwich on a garlic roll. AMAZING! The ribs were juicy, fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. The tri tip was tender and simply yummy as it was but even yummier smothered in their bbq sauce.
Im happy I stumbled on this place. Im not a fan of Temecula because its flooded with bro's and the people act as if they live in Beverly Hills. But this place gave me a reason to stomach this city.
And whats with all the pics of people? Show the food! :) -

Not really my kind of Tex-Mex place to eat.
Not really my kind of place to have a drink.
It is a good place to stop for lunch on the way to do some wine tasting though, and the sandwiches are really good. The tri-tip and the burgers are both good bets and I like the fries too. It's really a nice spot to enjoy a good sandwich in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. -

This place used to be "Chewey's" and was a place I would frequent some some after-work drinks with coworkers. Those days are gone for me, but I'm happy the place is still there.
I always get the Ranchero Burrito because I know what I like. I've heard others complain about the food, but my burrito has always been good. Until I get a bad burrito, I'll assume the food is fine.
The location looks like some "urban artists" have had their way with it, but it gives it some character. There are also some games for the kids.
With the price of the meal, I'd think a soda would be included, but that is not the case. I can't complain though, because the free Chip bar is AWESOME, and makes up for it in spades!
I like the place, and I think you will too. -

My family and I had been going to Chuy's for years, but we hadn't tried Duke's Mesquite Broiler since they had taken over. While deciding where to go out last night we picked Duke's hoping that we would have the same great experience and delicious food that we had previously!
No change in atmosphere, and I believe that for the most part the menu is the same as prior... sadly, the food is not!!! My mom ordered the fajitas plate and I ordered the mesquite chicken sandwich with cheese ($0.50 extra) sans bun. We paid, grabbed some chips and salsa (what used to be my favorite part) and sat down at a table. Sadly, the salsa was flavorless, so I was excited when my food arrived.
The waitress obviously didn't hear me say, hold the bun when I had ordered the sandwich, because it arrived with one. I was expecting to find melted cheese over a mesquite chicken breast, but on the contrary it was shredded (non-melted) mixed cheese over pieces of chicken breast that was tinted in an odd yellow color. To start off this way, I was a bit disappointed but decided to give it a try. Essentially... it was horrible. And that's the same vibe... no statement, that I got from my mom. The chicken in the fajitas also had the same yellowish tint and it was very dry, despite being cooked in the juices of onions and peppers. She said that her food would have been better if it was tasteless. The only redeeming quality of the meal was the fries... but that's not what I was paying for.
I absolutely will not be returning to Dukes!!! It is a serious loss that this quality restaurant replaced one that was sooo delicious before. To add, I agree with Sergio V's review, that it is pretty ridiculous that there are so few pictures of the food or the restaurant, but instead so many of drunk individuals... -

Big, big, big disappointment. I use yelp for everything and was disappointed in Dukes. The ribs just plane sucked - instead of fall of the bone - try rip off the bone and possibly break a tooth doing it. My wife had the shrimp salad salad, she did like it. The fries seemed like they were re fried 10 times. Sorry Dukes I will not be coming back again.
Also, the place was not clean. I hate when you pick up a ketchup bottle and it is sticky and that was the case at Dukes - hey at least wipe the bottle off - Gross, very gross. The table was not clean and the salsa bar was totally disgusting. CLEAN THE PLACE WILL YOU PLEASE.
The one thing I thought would be great was the Cole slaw - not. The slaw was like eating a giant bowl of vinegar.
I'm only giving Dukes 2 stars to appease my wife. IMHO, Dukes shouldn't even get 1 star. -

What is it with food in this town?!! I'm 0 for 3!!
Shrimp tacos were flavorless.
Kids burgers, flavorless.
Chicken nachos had a thin layer of melted cheese on the top, under that it's still cold.
The ribs and the fries were very good but by that time it was a lost cause.Comment from Scot L. of Duke's Mesquite Broiler 4/6/2010

Its around lunch time and we are driving by Dukes Mesquite Broiler so Dukes it is, Lets see a pitcher or by the glass my wrist wanted the pitcher my drive sense ordered the by the glass Margarita's"s and the tender poured us a good one, unlike Scott the owner!
We decided on splitting Mesquite chicken & fries, they put them on separate baskets and it looked like full meals. We got a basket of chips and salsa and we like to site at the bar and eat watch people and the sport TVs.
The food was great the service was excellent, and we did split one more Margarita.

I have to stop here, at Chuy's, everytime I'm down in Temecula. I'm usually not a fan of chains, but this place has yummy food. Great tacos, fish entrees, and sandwiches. The tortilla chips are self serve under a heating lamp so they're always warm. And the seasoning salt is the perfect compliment to the chips, the fish, the rice.
I agree with the other review, the tri-tip is to die for!
You can stop here on your way back from wine tasting in Temecula Valley. What better way to soak up all of that wine? There are TVs playing the latest sports game. And a video game and pinball to entertain the teenagers and tweeners. Chuy's is located in a strip mall, so parking is so easy. Then again, parking anywhere is easy compared to the city... -

This is a chain (majority are in AZ.) that serves mesquite grilled meat and fish. The Tri-tip sandwiches are great (comes with fries or a 3oz. tri-tip chili) $5.99 and add a side of mesquite grilled zucchini. They have a free chip and salsa bar. The chips are warm and fresh the salsa is chunky and good but very mild. They have a full bar. They serve other items but I never got passed the tri-tip so I can't vouch for anything else. If you are having a party you can buy a whole cooked tri-tip for about $17 bucks. It's great on a buffet (no work) just add rolls or tortillas. My only complaint is the ceiling has a bunch of kitschy crap and neon beer signs that look like they haven't been taken down and cleaned since the place opened.
