    There is so much cool stuff here!

    I love this place. I found the perfect gift, it was a small piggy bank in the shape of a wrestler's head. It was an office gift, for Secret Santa.

    This is the first time I ever gave one of my co-workers a little head at an office party and got away with it! :-D

    Thank you Ducky!

    The Flea Market is a blast from the past, I remeber the old Leucadia Flea Market, now its back. Last month I found a vintage pair of cowboy boots, I am in love with them. Ducky Waddles is outa sight!

    This place has lots of really great books at a god price! If you stop by here, and spend some time looking around, you will probably find an armful of books that you want to read.

    This is just a great overall shop with a great owner who is usually the one working. About a month ago I needed a crate or something like a box but didn't want just ANY old crate or box. So I came to Ducky Waddles. He let me into the back and he found me a perfect apple crate!!!! woohooo! Go ducky waddles and Jerry!!!!! Long live the local shops!

    A true Leucadia gem. Artists and hippies unite and rejoice in this classic treasure chest of life. Where else could you find a pictured knowledge book from 1912, thank you Ducky Waddles, thank you.

    Ducky Waddle's Emporium is the closest thing San Diego gets to NYC/SF/LA/London-style culture. Seriously. You'd expect to find a store like this in any one of those cities...but having it right here in San Diego county is about as awesome as it gets.

    There is so much to see and do at the Duck. From supercool art shows, poetry and music events to the most impressive collection of underground/outsider art around and an incredible new and used book collection, this is THE store to go to if you're looking for something unique and perfect for that hard-to-please someone (especially if that person is you). Over the years, I've scored some of the coolest books, folk art and jewelry at the Duck...and it's my secret source for birthday/X-mess presents that never get returned.

    A few things you'll find here that you may have been searching for: signed/numbered Shepard Fairey prints, Kozik, Derek Hess and Scrojo rock posters, cases of Nag Champa incense you can buy for the price of 2-3 individual boxes at other stores, Glen E. Friedman, David LaChapelle, Joel-Peter Witkin and Mark Ryden coffee table art and photography books, handmade folk art ornaments, including evil eyes and milagros, Ghost World dolls and original RE/Search books. And that's just a small handful of what they have.

    It's just about impossible to go here without finding something awesome. And their prices are incredibly reasonable for the insanely cool stuff they have. Whether you're kitschy, arty, quirky, moody, or just have great taste in art and curios, you'll find a place in your heart (and on your walls and shelves) for Ducky Waddle's Emporium.

    Incredible place for gifts, unique books, lovely art prints, fun decor and heck, Jerry is a nice guy, to boot.  Second Sunday Flea Market offers a super array of home made jewelery, vintage threads, antique furniture and all sorts of art.  Go support this local business...you'll be happy you did!

    Really? You are still shopping at the online bookstore? Well, here is your chance to save a bit of humanity from the age of digital monotony [writes the author on his iPhone] and to buy some amazing used books in the process.

    Ducky Waddle's Emporium acts a filter for those in search of a reading materials more beautifully diverse than the NYT List or Amazon's Top Ten. The store is small in size and completely alive with color in all manners imaginable. This atmosphere only adds to the wonder of just how it can be that the owner manages to make every other book spine call out to your curiosity as you browse the stacks.

    Have you hit a dry spell in your reading practices? Remember that internal longing for one more taste of a miracle as you finished a life changing piece of literature? Then there will be something for you on the shelves of this store.

    Today, I walked out with four books; all used; all dirt cheap:
    - "Battlestar Galactica 7: War of the Gods" (a paperback from the 80's based on the short lived original series which I have no intention of reading cover to cover but will use as a conversation piece on my bookshelf);
    - The Sutra on the Full Awareness of Breathing (I was looking for a book on breathing exercises);
    - "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy (I must read this before some abhorrent version of it is released on film);
    - VOX, by Nicholson Baker (this was recommended by the owner and by a really hot girl...black hair, tattoos, cute glasses...she had a stack of books of her own and bought the last copy of "Tropic of Cancer" before I could grab it).

    If you have a love for small business and/or used book stores, the owner needs public support! Grab coffee at the Pannikin and spend your Sunday afternoon browsing in here, you won't be disappointed.  I got the impression that 'times were tough', because the owner was selling his used books for 50% off his written price.  As a lover of all used book stores, I implore you to check this place out.

    Love this place!
    Great art, fun stickers, used books, rare finds, and all around funky stuff.
    If you have never been; don't wait just go take a look. You are sure to find something you never knew you could never live without.
    I know I did.

    I found a great book about Mick Fleetwood that has re-ignited my interest in late 1960's British blues. Better still I got to have a great chat with one of the most wonderful business owners in the San Diego area. He's got a fine selection of art and photography books and a comfy vibe thru every section of his store. I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy one of their live musical performances or other cultural events, but I will be doing that. Kiss your life. Shop at Ducky Waddle's!

    This is a super rad place to get art, comic books and booky books. It's full of kinds of treasures that you would usually scour a thrift store or flea market to core, only it's brand new and awesome.

    Not to mention all the rad art by local artists- the kind you would actually want on your walls, not weird Ikea stuff!

    This is a mecca for the alternative book searcher.  The best part is, there really aren't a lot of books here, but the books they do have have such a quality and it's such a hand-picked collection, it's a sure thing that you will find something you like.  If you like that sort of thing.

    They also have gallery showing of urban artists (the obey guy was there, among other local talent), and so it's definitely a source for creative energy.

    Great selection of prints and posters from different artists especially shepard fairy. If youre a fan or collector of shepard fairy's work, then this is the place to go to. The owner gets a limited supply directly from shepard himself and sells out fast. I once bought a coworker a $30 dollar print for xmas and now its worth about $300!

    It's a small shop all the way in Encinitas but contains some great rare art books and other cool things for the artsy person. The owner is very knowledgeable of each artist and their work so thats a good plus. Definately worth the trip.

    This is definitely a great place for all things eclectic. I love the vibe of this place. It has something for every type of interest. You can find things here that you can't find anywhere else. They carry things from the past and present such as old comic books, collectors items, cool and unusual contemporary art, hard to find books and even Pataki skin lotion....My neighbor also scored a rare Bjork poster from Germany.

    The owner and his wife surrounds himself with art and artists and tries to spread it throughout the community through his store.

    This place is amazing for so many different reasons. I will try to list a few:

    -more Shepard Fairy (Obey) prints than anywhere. Literally.
    -Jerry, the owner, knows pretty much everything about everything. Plus, I once saw him punch some annoying twenty-something douchebag at the Casbah. Keep in mind that his is AT LEAST fifty years old.
    -it's a great place to buy gifts: tons of interesting little tokens, coffee table books, postcards, etc.
    -fairly small but extremely well-selected used book section. I can't leave without picking up at least a couple new/old books.

    This is a place where I could (and have) lost myself for a long time due to all the rare and interesting books and artwork.

    This place is a great place to find yourself a book, and an awesome place to find a gift for a friend when you don't have any ideas. Aside from a really interesting selection of books, they offer some really great poster art, handmade jewelry, and all kinds of other neat things.

    The man that runs this establishment is incredibly helpful, and went well out of his way to help me track down a book that was out of print.

    Support this store, they definitely deserve your business.

    On a rt 101 Saturday Shop Hop we stumbled upon the magnificent Ducky Waddles.  Close to two hours later we left with books filled to cure our curiosities!  Woodworking, Aliens, Sensuality of  Women, Arts of Mexico, you name it, DW has it.  It's music, art, and owner are equally inviting.  Take a deep breath, for a hint of relaxing sage, and prepare to explore!

    I thought this was a comic book store but it's not, it's a combination art/book store.  Well curated, right next to Lou's Records.  Reminded me of a Berkley area independent book store with the quirkiness.  Owner has a thing for Shep Fairey.

    Wow! Why had I never heard of this place? I was up in Encintias/Leucadia for the weekend and was looking for fun stuff to do. I found the perfect triumvirate: Ducky's, Lou's Records, and Pannikin... They are all three right next to each other and make a great way to spend an afternoon. The owner is a great guy and helped me find everything I was looking for or Interested in. I highly recommend checking this place out!

    It's unfortunate that the owner, Jerry, seems to have no interest in actually conducting any business at his store.  He alienates every client that dares to call or walk in his "emporium".  I believe in supporting local business, but this is one place I recommend staying clear of.

    I always find the hard to come by books at Ducky's.  I always ask the cool owner to find them for me, because otherwise, it would take me forever to buy anything.  This bookstore comes with many distractions- really good ones!  I found some Mikhail Bulgokov and that book Island by Huxley along with others I thought were lost  over the years.  It's comfy at Ducky Waddle's, so take your time browsing and check out all the cool stuff jammed around the book shelves.

    Super cute little book/art/jewelry/random stuff store. New and used books. Loads of cool art books more on the contemporary/street art scene. Large selection of Obey posters. Owner is very friendly. Shop this X-mas at a cool little bookstore and help the little guy. F Amazon and its stinky kindle thing.
