I stopped by here this morning for breakfast and all I can say is wow. I ordered 3 donuts which just came out of the deep fryer. I ordered a peanut butter and peanuts, strawberry glazed and a glazed. The peanut butter frosted was my by far my favorite.
This is a great place to come for donuts and especially good when they come out of the deep fryer fresh. A must stop for breakfast one morning. -

The one in Duck was SO much better.
After hitting the one in Duck we hit this one on our way to Ocracoke and were very sad at the vast difference from our experience the day before. While I am sure it was a one-off, the service here was really slow (about 45 minutes to order and get donuts) and the donuts were cold and grease bombs.
It appeared this store offered more than the northern version: alternative breakfast items (bagels, breakfast sandwiches etc) which is a good thing for picky eaters.
Go here for: a quick visit to the bathroom ;)
Don't go here for: warm gooey goodness. Go to another store. -

Wife and I went across the street this morning to try Duck Donuts. They were extremely fresh and iced to order. Coffee was very good as well, lattes and espresso were also great. If you're staying at the Hilton garden inn in kitty hawk you simply must go to duck donuts for breakfast. They're only open till 1pm so don't think you can wait until later!

Okay so after I had read all of the 5 star reviews I guess I really got my hopes up for this delicious duck donut. They were good but in all honesty my husband make much better homemade donuts...so I am going to give them 4 stars.
We went off season and they weren't very busy at all. We ordered a dozen. It is neat to watch the donut machine make the donuts and the employees put the toppings of your choice on right away. We go a variety of donuts from glazed to chocolate, strawberry, powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar.
Would I eat another duck donut...yes....do I see myself craving them and needing to go there right away...no. -

What a treat! I had the cinnamon sugar and the glazed and both were divine. They were light, airy and not greasy--surprising since they were fresh from the fryer! They have a nice location right across the Hilton Garden Inn next to High Cotton, so save your money on the hotel breakfast and get two donuts and a coffee for 4 bucks instead :)
Coupons are available in most of the ad books and they have cute t-shirts and rubber ducks which make the perfect gift. -

A great novelty donut shop. I ordered a chocolate and cinnamon donut. These were so oily I lightly squeezed it and oil literally oozed out. Trying to get out of the parking lot is the worse.

Is heaven a deep fried doughnut??? While in obx with friends and family a couple of weeks ago, our group consumed about 8 dozen. Their new lemon glaze is incredible. In the simplicity of the business model, are a wonderful variety of glazes/frostings/toppings... something for everyone. They are out and crispy and just the right density. SO GOOD and I'm thankful we don't have them up here :)

Living in Pennsylvania there is a Dunkin Donuts on every other corner with totally subpar donuts and then there is Duck Donuts. I have to say these were the most delicious cake style donuts I have ever had. I was smart and called my order in ahead of time. By the time I got there... there was like 10 people waiting around for orders. Stop by at least once when you're in town.

We grabbed donuts twice this year - how could we not - hot, cake-style donuts topped right out of the fryer... seriously it doesn't get any better (or worse if you are watching calories). They are expensive so be prepared to pay more than you ever have for donuts and the wait can be long but wow... there is nothing like sitting on the deck looking over the ocean having coffee and a duck donut.

Absolutely the best donut ever. They melt in your mouth and the toppings are fresh.

You can't beat a donut place that is right across from the hotel you are staying at for convenience. This location is right across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn.
I went around 9 in the morning and the donuts were fresh (at least, they were still warm). They top it while you are standing there -- everything is customized to your taste. I got chocolate icing with rainbow sprinkles and by the time I got my donut, the icing was somewhat melty but not tooo melty. Very nice. The sprinkles were good too, actually. They had a nice 'crunch'. The two ladies working there were very pleasant.
I was looking forward to the coffee which was labeled as some sort of locally roasted organic blend, but it was lukewarm. It may have been sitting in the container all morning. In general, the coffee (I tried the dark and the light) was not strong enough. -

Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.
They make the donuts fresh daily and then dip and sprinkle made to order. We had chocolate icing with sprinkles (my personal fave) and maple icing with sprinkles and they were SO good. Also, the regular house blend coffee rocked too. The hubs and I highly recommend! -

Probably the best donut I have ever had. We stopped by the morning that we left Kitty Hawk (a Sunday) and watched them hand dip our chocolate covered donuts.
SO GOOD. They're the old fashioned cake type donuts that taste like funnel cake but a gazillion times better.
The only bad part was that we didn't try them until the day we were leaving. I would have eaten my weight in donuts had I known how good they were. -

Awesome donuts! Rather than having donuts ready made and sitting on a rack, each donut is "made to order". We had a glazed and a strawberry iced, both with rainbow sprinkles. Definitely recommended for a quick morning coffee and donut!

Great donuts. Cake style hot off the fryer. No jelly, which bummed out my wife. A bit clueless when we asked for a latte.
