Review from Erin C.
I love the interior design of the shop. Wooden floor, comfy couches, well organized yarn, great selection of books. The staff is amazing too. Always so friendly and helpful.
The yarn is more on the expensive side but great quality.
I've set up a 1 on 1 help session and the girl there saved my project :)
They were really open to my friends and I hosting knitting club there.
I'm glad that my pup is allowed there too. -

I have been in this store twice now, the first time I was with a friend who knew what she wanted and is what I would say an expert in all things yarn. The service was horrible and the staff totally rude. The women who worked there were cold and not even slightly nice from a customer perspective. I was a bit taken aback by their attitude but shrugged it off and didn't think much of it since I wasn't buying anything.
Well I went back to this store (due to location only) to look for some yarn I wanted for an extremely random craft project. I was the only person in the store on a weekend day, I immediately felt like I was interrupting. The two women were completely unhelpful for my project to the point of telling me I was wrong. Sometimes I get it, it really is a random craft project I had but what do they care?! If I fail it's my money, they should have just given their opinion and not been so judgmental about it. I NEVER write reviews (for better or worse) on Yelp but I felt so ridiculed for going into this shop and having a random question that I felt like I had to voice my opinion.
Many people may have had a great experience there, I personally did not. If I hadn't lost the receipt I would return my overpriced $7 yarn and stick to the stores that actually have customer service. -

I love the people at this shop. They are always so helpful and kind. I love the selection of sea silk. You can find literally any type of yarn that you need, and prices are decent too.
I love their little gifts for knitters too, especially the sheep cards. -

A colorful paradise for knitters
At first when I saw a new shop open on the street level of my apartment building in the Pearl, I have to admit that I sighed. I wondered why a knitting shop of all businesses was opening up in my neighborhood. That is, until I walked into Dublin Bay Knitting Company and my wonder turned to awe.
Whether you're an accomplished knitter, want to learn or give a knitter some gorgeous yarns, this is the place. Just walking around and seeing all the vibrant colors and knitted outfits for babies made me want to sit down and learn in the lounge. That's right, there's a knitting lounge --- the coolest part of the shop, where you can sit and chat with other knitters and have a cup of a coffee. What a great idea for a rainy day! And if you don't know how to knit, they offer classes.
Along with an array of colorful soft yarns, Dublin Bay also sells unique cases and needles. This is indeed a feast for knitters.
Tip: Metered parking out front is typically full on 11th Avenue, so drive up side street Overton where you'll likely find a spot and not have to feed a meter. -

I don't often shop for yarn on the west side, but when I do, I go to Dublin Bay. If you love the experience of visiting a little yarn shop, I definitely recommend stopping by, if only to browse the beautiful selection of yarns available.
Dublin Bay has renewed my faith in little yarn shops, after having a negative experience at another store. A few months back, I needed a single skein of yarn to complete a project and was having trouble finding it at other yarn shops around town. I emailed Dublin Bay, and Tricia wrote back saying that not only did they have it in stock, she would set it aside for me at the register.
In addition to some gorgeous and unusual yarns you may not be able to find elsewhere around town, Dublin Bay also has a nice selection of notions, including buttons and clasps. -

Stopped in while visiting Portland. Very nice, concise store of yarns mostly from the UK. Store clerk was sweet and friendly, offering to send me to another store for what wasn't carried there. Hedgehog buttons, Fleece Artist Sock yarn and Addi Lace needles. Thank you!

Worth driving around and around trying to find this gem of a shop. A friend and I were unexpectedly downtown with nothing we had to do so we decided to visit a few places and Dublin Bay was on our list.
The thing is, neither of us has a handy dandy phone with Internet so we had to find it the old fashioned way, we asked. We were told, oh, it's right by Jamieson Square. Well, round and round we went working our way out from said square. Finally we found it, it's really at the edge of the world, if your world is the Pearl District. One more block and you'd fall off.
We stepped through the magic doors and realized within a moment that we never wanted to leave. Beautiful yarn, comfortable feeling and seating area, great displays, pleasant. Plus the owner and staff were sweet, helpful, and generous. If I lived closer I'd probably make it my new home away from home.

My favorite knitting shop in the state of Oregon, because of the friendly service, knowledgeable staff, and a great selection of reasonably priced yarn.
I purchased yarn at Knit/Purl and Dublin let me use their loom, it really made my day. Simply great service and earn beyond the five star Yelp gives.
Once a month you can bring your own food, movie, etc. and knit with others or with friends. Superb service without a doubt. -

So friendly and adorable! Not a huge selection overall, and mostly in the upper price ranges, but a very good selection of gorgeous, hard-to-find luxury yarns (Handmaiden, Fleece Artist, etc)...stuff that no one else has.

This is a very nice, friendly shop with really helpful folks behind the counter. They carry a wide range of yarns that fit every price point. The space is open and well lit, cozy, comfy and well organized. Parking can be tricky for some, but I usually find a spot on the street within a block or so.

I loved my shopping experience there. Got some very soft alpaka on sale. I do give it 5 stars, but I have to say it looks dark in there, and I think the shelves being black does not help get an idea of the yarn's true color.

As a relative newcomer to knitting, this is probably my favorite yarn store yet! I am a total sucker for soft yarns in beautiful colors, & therefore feel like this store came straight from my head into glorious reality. (Had I not been a-hunting most specially for "manly" yarn, I would have bought this delicious gold/cream/pink Handmaiden which will almost certainly haunt my dreams.) The shop itself is beautiful. Even the bags are beautiful. Oh yes, this is something for which I will brave the Pearl.

I was in the portland area a few weeks ago visiting my mother-in-law and we stopped in to check this yarn shop out. I'm a beginner and I had lots of questions and the owner was there and was very helpful, and pleasant. The yarn selection was a dream-come-true, especially the prices. There was something for almost any budget. I could finally pick out beautiful yarn at a price that i could afford, and if I wanted to splurge I could find some gorgeous yarn there too. No pretension, and a beautiful little shop with lots of examples. Oh and my husband totally dug the little sheep descriptions of types of wool posted by each yarn.
