totally dig it here.  we were a group of 7,  walk-in, and were seated in a cozy corner table in the back.  waitress was swift to take our drink orders.  started the night with picklebacks.

food was excellent: slider sampler, fries, ahi tuna with soba noodles (yum) and absolutely loved the big bowl of mussels.  and more picklebacks.

we topped the night with desserts: toffee pudding, bread pudding, and creme brûlée and are all solid choices.  and more picklebacks.

the best part of the night was the music selection: erasure, depeche, police, sting, when in rome, and even some loinel richie.

    i am a happy woman!

There are 2 sides to every story.

On one side, its a dark lounge-y area with a long bar where couples can be seen engaging in egregious PDAs.

On the other side, its a brighter dining room with a shorter bar and lots of tables where crews can be seen getting smashed up, getting rowdy and noshing away on large entrees.

On another side, there is an outside dining area where you can people-watch while getting drunk on $4 happy hour draft beers...and tear up lobster BLTs, empanandas, fish tacos and fires with curry sauce.

Mah bah, it seems there are 3 sides to this story.

This was the first stop of the makeshift Irish pub crawl I put together for St. Patrick's Day (we made it to two out of eight of the bars on the list).  Given it was St. Patrick's Day, it was crowded beyond belief, but we didn't mind.  Crowd was lively and varied from the young to the very old.

Drinks were $9 and beers were 8.  I thought that was a little pricey given it's not some fancy bar or anything, but prices may have been jacked up for SPD.  The outdoor seating looked tempting for our day drinking adventure, but we sadly missed out this time.

Bartenders were pretty friendly, even after I ordered water, which I blame it on the Scottish guy who ordered us shots of Jager after we specifically asked him not to get us shots of Jager...but of course we still took them because who says no to (free!) alcohol on St. Patrick's Day?  We decided to make our way to the exit after said Scott asked me to kiss him and tried to use the logic that the next time I play the game 'Never Have I Ever' with my friends and one of them says, "Never have I ever kissed a Scottish boy," I'll be able to drink.  Looks like I missed my chance...good thing I already graduated college.

My family had a "rehearsal gathering" at Dublin 6 after my daughter's wedding rehearsal on Thursday, May 10.  Lou allowed us to use the back room which was perfect. Family started arriving from 7 until 9:45 pm as they came into NY and fresh plates of food were brought out as more people arrived. The staff was attentive, the food awesome, and atmosphere great. Three separate, extended families and many friends (about 50 total) attended and all talked about the great idea not to have a "stuffy dinner" but allow people to mix and mingle and eat/drink through the evening. We had everything on the pub menu- my favorite was the fish tacos, my pregnant daughter-in-law loved the handcut fries, my husband the hamburgers, my son the pork sliders, there was something delicious for everyone. Such a great night and reasonably priced - everyone was full for less than $20 each, where else could that happen in NYC? Lou, chef, bartenders, and wait staff, thank you, y'all rock!

Stopped in for brunch, and we were pretty impressed! One of the things we liked the most is that their two drinks that come with the prix-fixe are virtually any drinks that they serve, so we were able to enjoy sangria with brunch.

The food was pretty good. Loved the eggs benedict, and my friend enjoyed her sandwich. The service could have been a little better.

The West Village is packed with good brunch spots, but give Dublin 6 a shot next time you're in the hood!

Love this bar. Might have to do with the fact that it was 70 degrees sunny and I got an outdoor table. I love a bar that offers alfresco seating. Dublin also have  $4 dollar draft happy hour until 6 and potent sangria! I did not try the food but it did like they had pretty solid bar food selection. I will definitely be back for more drinks and to try some pub food!

While it was crazy busy on a Saturday night, it was actually our second choice for a place to grab a bite - the Pig down the corner was full up.

Turns out, we made a great choice here. Little kobe beef in blankets was tasty for an appetizer for my friend (orders of 4 or more), I had two of the pulled pork sliders (tasty!) and a big slider + a steak for the other two at the table were met with grins as they ate, so that's a good sign, right?

I'll have to actually stop by here for a proper meal, but appreciate the good humor of the waitstaff despite the chill outside that day.

They do not, however, have big tables. They'll be better for groups of 4 or less. (unless you reserve the entire back!).

Slightly upscale to be called an actual Irish pub, but the beer selection is great and drinks are surprisingly cheap, relatively speaking -- a round of 5 drinks cost only $37 (2 beers and 3 mixed drinks).

Music was a bit rough, as the DJ kept playing great songs and then mashing them up with techno crap, but at least it wasn't terrible overbearing, and conversations could still be had with the person next to you.

Fairly yuppy crowd on a Friday night.  Not sure if it's like that all the time, but I would definitely go back.

we have eaten here a couple of times and loved it. Burgers are awesome - even the veggie burger is pretty good.  i have tried sliders as well and turned out to be great. friend chicken which is one of their dinner specials is average - it could be better.

I am giving to a four star for its burgers and beer.

Service is friendly - nothing special, nothing to complian about.

If I had the option, I would give it a 3.5 star but eventually I guess this is more of a 4 star.

I would like to see more of typical irish food options on the menu.

What else is there to say? This is a great West Villagey / Meat Packing Irish bar that is a little more loungey and less "traditional Irish pub"

I was there on a busy Friday night with some friends and the place was hopping, but not too packed.  The space was dark, dimly lit, very cozy, but was not sleepy as they had a DJ playing music so it kept the tempo of place more upbeat.  The drinks were good and the service from the bar was excellent.

I think the best thing about D6 is that it is only a few blocks away from the pink hummer limos and the nuttyness of the Meatpacking District, but it feels worlds away - and that is a good thing.

Dublin 6 is our neighborhood go to. We eat here at least once a week, a dinner or brunch.

The food is excellent here, usually never a long wait. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the food is exceptional for pub type fare. Whether  it's an excellent Cobb Salad, a Pate' & Cheese selection or Egg Pizza, I highly recommend this West Village pub. Also, excellent appetizers to share like Crab Cake Sliders, Mini Lobster BLT & Deviled Eggs.
Great brunch & served ala carte or with 2 Bloody Mary's, priced accordingly.

This bar is good, but there are better bars in the area.  My cousins and I got seating at the bar and played Jenga, which was fun, but that's about as good as it gets.

There is nothing that makes this bar amazing, but nothing that makes this bar bad.  Its just a regular bar.  Prices were reasonable.  Bartenders were a little slow.

If your in the area, I prefer Employees Only.

I thought Dublin 6 was a bit nondescript and not a place I would go out of my way to try again, but it was solid good food.  I had the slider sampler which was comprised of a burger, a lobster roll and a crab cake.  The burger was incredibly juicy and flavorful.  The other rolls were decent but not particularly memorable.  The French Fries, however, were perfection.

I sat in the restaurant, but the bar scene seemed to be kickin when I left at about midnight.

In sum, the food was certainly better than average but I won't rush back.

I used to work a few blocks from this bar so we would come here often for going away/getting fired/quitting parties, ALWAYS a good time.

I have the most love for the food here, not many bars offer kobe beef mini hot dogs ($1 each). They used to serve them with an amazing spicy(ish) cheese sauce, now they come with some sort of crap dressing, whatevs.

They have a good assortment of bar munchies that are definitely a step up from your average irish pub. Aside from the pigs in a blanket, I'd reco the sliders, the pizza, fries and steak.

The happy hour specials are not memorable, and the drink prices are standard for the area. Ive seen a DJ here on several occasions, but the crowd convos seem to muffle the music - dont expect to dance (standing room only, although there is a dining area and another section towards the back). Impromptu dance space is important to me.

The bartenders are nothing to speak of here - so I wont.

This place is a good place for a drink, don't get me wrong, but I felt like it was suffering from a bit of an identity crisis. Some yelpers are calling it an Irish pub, some a restaurant (the food looked lovely, but I came for a drink)... it looks like an oversized bar with a lot of tables. It's enormous. The bar is bifurcated - one half has two televisions (showing NFL = minus one star) and the other half was quieter and seemed more like a restaurant (still had a bar).

Bartender was lovely. Drink prices weren't too bad for the area (Guinness is $6. Decent wines by the glass at under $10.)... but still what is this?
Sitting at the bar: one lady doing the NYTimes Sunday crossword eating a sunday dinner, a girl in her twenties drinking red Californian wine anxiously "waiting for her friends," and a bar maid eating on her dinner break. The female : male ratio was ridiculous. (And I'm a girl, clearly. And don't care either way, just saying.) Guys, maybe this is an idea?

    C. and I met some friends for dinner after work Friday, and there was a two to three hour wait at the Spotted Pig, so we repaired to Dublin 6 instead. A coworker who lived in the area pointed it out as a solid standby restaurant months ago, and it was high time I tried it.

The hostess and our waiter were both awesome -- friendly and helpful. And the menu is impressive and welcoming to vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We started by sharing the cheese plate appetizer. It was wonderful.

    C. ordered the duck confit with risotto and enjoyed it quite a bit -- she said the duck was better than the risotti. I got the beef pie, which was prepared with carrots and other vegetables in a flaky pastry crust. If you have a choice, get the champ (mashed) potatoes. They're prepared in the Irish style, with bits of Brussels sprouts mixed in.

Surprisingly, the place wasn't overly crowded at 7:30 at a Friday. I recommend you eat here, but if you try to get in somewhere else and cannot, Dublin 6 is more than a fallback choice -- it's an excellent restaurant.

Like many others, I ended up in here post-White Horse.  Stayed to watch the Grammy's with a few other alcoholics, er, music fans.

Bartender was a doll.  Beer selection was solid.  Onion rings were huge and plentiful.  The bar menu was actually pretty solid all around--not terribly priced and a good selection of food.  The bar itself is your typical, slightly more upscale glossy wood.

Altogether a nice place to put back a few pints and marvel at how M.I.A. can dance around 9 months preggers while I'm chowing down on onion rings and Smithwick's.

Alright, I had to take a star down because of the food, although pretty filling and an interesting selection, wasn't spectacular.

I had the butternut squash risotto with a canard confit, and unfortunately the sweetness of the butternut squash was outdone by the sweetness of the reduction sauce that they put on top of the confit. I am not sure why they had to add the sauce, it kind of over-sweetened the dish. Oh well, it was good in a pinch because my date and I were looking for someplace to eat and didn't have any reservations on a Saturday night.

Still think the ambiance is 4 stars and the service is really good.

    OK, so 3.5 stars total.

This place was AMAZING.  We booked the backroom for a party here and I was so impressed with everything.
    (1) The space in the backroom is perfect, they even let us decorate it
    (2) The manager was just awesome - he stayed for our entire event and was constantly making sure everything was running smoothly
    (3) Food - it was great! We had delicious crabcake sliders, pulled
pork sliders, pizza, etc. and our guests loved everything they ordered

The place also just has a great feel.  It's a local favorite and the mix of people and the music just helped make the night even better.

I can't thank them enough for a wonderful party and can't wait to go back again!

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

The equivalent of Nick at Nite reruns - just right and you don't  have to think about it too much. I love coming here if I want really good food, along with my peace and quiet and I'm not ready to deal with the loud and pretentious folk who flock to the West Village. The fish and chips and the bangers and mash are pretty authentic pub fare and very tempting at 14.- but you can also get a more high-end arugula and pear or a cobb salad along with your duck confit and risotto. That's the nice thing about db6 - they swing either way and the place always hits the spot, right between down-to-earth and just classy enough to for eating out and treating yourself.

Most of their beer selection is surprisingly cheap for the neighborhood and the seating is nice - no forced eaves-dropping to the table neighbors yapping away and the wait-staff is refreshingly non-snooty. I'm usually not much into brunch, but this one has a very decent deal: 15 bucks prix-fixe will get you, say, a full Irish breakfast plate and two drinks.

Like the people found in the REAL Dublin, the staff and patrons in Dublin 6 are plain old nice.    That is the primary reason to go to this place, though.  The food hovers around your basic pub fare: The onion rings and fried cheese are pretty good.  The burger was just okay; the salads were disappointing.

If you're looking for a restaurant in the West Village, I would go to this place in a pinch.  But, if you do, don't expect a fine dining experience....it's merely a place to grab a bite.

Went to Dublin for late-night drinks this weekend after the White Horse bouncers were being douches. The chalk board sign out front said "air conditioned bar, cold beer... You do the math!". Considering we were stuck in the middle of a ridiculous heat wave, we were sold.

The place was kinda quiet and we scored a seat in the front window. The good:  JENGA!  And not just any Jenga... Everytime you removed a block, you had to read the comments that were written on it and either ammend or contribute. I ended up calling a number that said "For a good time, call ___" and had a creepy interaction with some dude from Jersey. But I thought the concept was great!  The bad: the A.C. situtation. We thought they were bluffing about the a.c. but we found out much later that only where we sat was hot. Oh well. The ugly: the bathrooms. After the creepy dude incident, the bf had me convinced he was going to show up any minute so I made him escort me to the ladies room. Unfortunately, you enter the stairway and are immediately knocked over by the smell of piss. Poor thing sat there and waited for me anyway. What a guy.

So overall a 3-star late-night experience but the get an extra star because they also do a good brunch from what I can recall back about a year ago.

This is somewhat of a quiet place on the corner.  It has a lot of beer and not your typical boring bud light too.  This is a good place to get your normal bar food.  I came here with 2 people and we shared shrimp tacos, pizza, mussels, and wings and everything was so good.  The french onion soup is also recommended.  Come here with an empty stomach because you are sure to walk away full and satisfied.  It is somewhat on the more pricey side ($9 for soup, $10 for a small 10 inch pizza) - but the pizza was homemade and delicious.

All in all, a good place for some beers and appetizers.

On our venture out to the West Village, walking down Hudson St. we stumbled in this bar. We came here to escape the heat that scorched the Otherroom. At Dublin, even with the windows open, it was really cool inside (props to their AC).

Plenty of room in here. And they have Jenga. Pretty cool. Also have a live DJ in the front flipping through some rock music. I enjoyed my Italian champagne and the bartender was just very down to earth. The people that were there were also very down to earth. I guess that makes this a pretty nice & chill bar! And it wasn't empty nor crowded. Liked it!

My friend organized a dinner here and characterized this as a 'gastro pub'.  There was nothing good about the food here unfortunately.  I had the burger and fries and it was pretty miserable.  Looking at the food other people had didn't change my opinion of the kitchen.  On to the wine list since this is named 'Wine & Dine'.  Another disappointment - the wine list is pathetic and the prices are high.

The bar was cool so come here for drinks but eat somewhere else.

The bar at Dublin 6 is spacious, well-lit, with a good selection of beers.  On weekends, they have a DJ that spins old school 80s music.

Avoid the pizza (bland), but opt for the onion rings (gargantuan) and pork empanadas (juicy).

I had a total epiphany when I was hanging out at Dublin 6: I have become a California wine snob. I'm not even a really involved wine person - I pretty much only drink white wine and within white wine I really like Riesling. Most California wine snobs would look down on me....but at Dublin 6 I realized that I knew enough about wine to know that the wine list was bad. The wines were just not good and it wasn't even like they were super cheap - whoever selected them knew next to nothing about wine. To be fair, this is really a pub where you should drink beer, but for what it's worth, the wine list was not strong.

I did like Dublin 6 - good ambiance, lots of young, attractive girls - they had a cool "anti-Valentines" day party when I was there, so maybe that's why. But definitely a good, uncrowded, unpretentious, unsceney place to drink in the West Village.

Had brunch here a few weeks ago with a big group of friends and we had a great time. There was a bit of a wait because the size of our party but we hung out at the bar. They serve cans of Pork Slap. Made by Butternuts Beer and Ale. That alone is reason enough to come to this place. Hilarious.
The waiter we had was pretty friendly and joked around with us because we're a bunch of hacks. I had the full irish breakfast and it was fantastic. The only gripe I have is that the blood pudding was tiny - maybe because they think Americans won't like it? I love blood pudding! Make more of it! The bloody maries that come with the prix fix brunch menu were tasty too.

To me, it seems pub food is either hit or miss...like, it's either really bad or absolutely phenomenal.

I was taking a nice leisurely stroll through the Village last night and saw that this place was hopping...so I went inside and was seated.

Started out with a Caesar Salad...it was presented beautifully on a plate with croutons and SHARDS of Parmesan cheese. Not too overdressed, either. Added pepper and that made it taste even better.

Next, I tried the D6 burger with swiss cheese. It was so huge I had to resort to cutting it with a knife. The meat was done to my specification (medium well).  It was also served with hand cut fries, which were the best I've tasted in a while.

I wanted to try the Goose Island but the server informed me that they were out. He suggested a similar Belgian brew called Duvel...which did the trick. Came in a nice fancy glass and everything.

I'd certainly come back again...I saw some items on the bar menu that looked good!

i came here last night for the first time, and i really liked this bar.  It's actually pretty big inside, but still feels cozy at the same time.  Pretty delish beer selection, and only $4 at happy hour.  I also was hit on by a 60 something year old man with his action-figure enthusiast grandson while waiting at the bar so that totally gets a star.  There was also a very cute baby in a stroller!  another star!
We ordered the mac n cheese, crab cake sliders and my favorite food of all time... PIGS IN A BLANKET!

The staff here is awesome and the food is good.  They are very accommodating to changing the channel on the TV for certain sporting events.

Eating here can be somewhat expensive as the portions are smaller than what you might expect at a pub, but it is not lacking in quality.

Nights can get kind of cramped as with most places.  The rear seating area offers a nice spot with good AC when it's not sardine can packed.

Ah, happy hour with coworkers: you're in the middle of a long week, everyone's lugging a laptop, and you're in that nebulous territory between needing a drink or needing a meal (or both).

Dublin is perfect for this. It's split into a bustling bar on the right, and a quieter dining area/bar on the left with some tables outside for good measure. All the mainstays of a good happy hour are here: a good variety of drinks, a real restaurant menu (but they aren't sticklers about making everyone order a meal or even eat), low-key but not dirty, friendly staff, roomy enough that you can always get a seat. Solid, solid, solid.

Haven't been here for a real dinner yet, but if I did, I'd try to get the nook all the way in the back left corner of the house.
