1 review for Duane Reade
Look, I know I'm reviewing a Duane Reade but I had a pretty fantastic experience so I think it's worth a Yelp. This spot juuuust opened up so there was plenty of promotional marketing going on. Tuxedo'ed men were standing in the pouring rain handing out $5 off $15 purchase cards. There was one stationed every 10 ft. I got four cards. I used one today. I have three left. I just gave one away. I have two left.
I don't know if you've noticed, but DR has been totally revamping their stores one by one. Sleeker, sexier, the new DR is a Maserati compared to it's Fiat predecessor. As soon as you walk into the Herald Square location, there's food everywhere! I bought lunch, a chicken caesar salad, for $5.49! I got a huge bar of Lindt 85% cocoa chocolate for $2.49! I couldn't believe that they had salads there. They had fresh sandwiches and yogurts and all this other stuff that you would find in a Cafe Metro or a Bread & Co. that's pre-packaged but it looked pretty good for what they were charging.
I escalated upstairs and was kind of shocked by the whole new look of the hygiene department. It looked like the women's fragrance department at Bloomingdale's. I almost turned around and left.
I left DR pretty happy and had a pleasant walk to work the rest of the morning. This, my friends, almost never happens on non-payday days. Thank you Duane Reade 2.0.
